Comic books alone published hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of heroic stories up until what the 1980s? Superman alone wasn't focuses on the times he got lazy or deteriorating. There were movie series, westerns, pulps, and you can even go back further to Homer Beowulf... heroes aren't dull. Only writers are. That's a failure of current imagination.

Anyways, cheap shots aside, yeah, tired of "the Jedi were all failures or corrupt or worse," plus the go-to for current pop culture "ooohh, these bad guys are really bad-ass, doesn't that make them interesting?" No, that makes them bad, not bad-ass. Heroes are passe these days, which is exactly why we need more of them, not failures and corrupted people. That aside, the samurai-leaning takes in The Mandalorean were it's best aspects, so that leaning here might work out. Just please no more CGI rock-fights like Obi-Wan degenerated into.

Nope. I don't like repeating power sets usually (I know I wouldn't have to, of course), and and I just don't care for red side - played there a bit on Live when it came out, got real tired of being squashed like an damned bug all the time. Maybe I'm a better player now, but still have no desire to go back to face that possibility of irritation ha ha

People run BAF all the time, and I have seen and done a few of the others; I'm not a big fan of them so I don't generally pay much attention for them though. But yeah, on the flip side, people are using their Incarnate powers everywhere else. Meanwhile here I am even rarely dropping a Lore outside top level stuff because it feels like cheating to me... like a chump!

Yikes! Say... did you try updating Vidiot Maps recently? I started having problems with that for a bit when I did last time a couple of weeks ago. It later cleared itself up a little bit later, without my intervention, iirc.

@Nostromo21 Even if you make some "mistakes" and you can't hit perma-Dom, the character will very most likely still be quite playable. Maybe you can't make insane-o runs thru solo TFs at 4/8, but still playable! My most recent Dom is at Vet Level 30 or so, and she never reached perma, and is still a beast. I usually PUG, but Doms are about the safest soloists (apply hold, then move in to attack the helpless), apart from Stalkers, but both may be a tad slow for today's cracked-out style of play. Most of the sets listed above aren't all that pricey TBH either; heck, shoot me a forums-note with your global and I'll send you some Inf. Early Doms can be rough, but when they start to bloom later, woo boy, the wait is worth it!

I dunno... I've borrowed a few forum-builds over the years that were pretty OP, and out of all of them, my Fort was the OP-est. And that was years ago, I bet they're even more OP now. But I do team, solo I suppose might be different.

I just finished a Dom that has it but I rarly think to use it unless I can see an easy corner directly in front of me to shove them into, too much scrapperlock on the brain I guess. This idea has now been noted however and I'll be sure to make use of it later.

Ultimately I agree with you, this is just a minor annoyance caused by inconsiderate players. But... the idea of knocking them into the void to fall into the pool and be turned into a Rikti monkey (say, until they climb out of the pool) is such a great idea that I don't care!

Yeah, I'm guessing it was the first one. Maybe the person who worked on that as a passion project left.

I think it's always been thay way. I know redside I used to try and skip them; I normally tend to run squishies and wave after wave of ambushing Longbow got tiresome and played tougher than I think was intended. But yeah, even blue side these days no one wants those. Radio missions are mostly cake walks, but it's not uncommon to have a death or two in a mayhem and oh dear god why would you expect a modern player to even consider such a horrible, horrible thing you monster?

I had one with a build I took from the forums, this was probably three years ago. The thing was a beast, couldn't be stopped - he could stand in the middle of a group of foes desperately trying to wail on him, and apply a Heal Self and not get interrupted (the few times he needed to Heal himself, at that). He never made it past level 47, because playing like that is was so unimaginably BORING. Seriously, it's no fun in having an I Win button; this is one reason I can't stand farming.

Do it!! Another thought I've had is why not set up a few different "in gates" that a player can randomly pop in to, spread out around the place?

You can always log in quick, check it and then log out; log out in a place like Ouro, City Hall, etc. and you don't even have to wait through a log-out timer. I do this all the time.

Don't we already have enough ways to be given stuff? This is essentially a form of power creep, "reward creep" i suppose. An aside: why did they stop giving Dev Choices, HoFs etc.? I got lucky and got one during that last round for Christmas stories but yeah, that like 2022. And let me tell you, those gold stars lead a lot of people to play them; I think my current only gold-starred arc broke 200 plays recently, while my other arcs haven't cracked double digits yet (iirc).

There's also the hangover effect where many people skipped it past the initial badge-getting, because they didn't think it rewarded enough. That's been changed now, give people a chance to catch up! I say this thinking of the person I was in a league with that was taking down the Croatoa pair of GMs shortly after the update who told me that he knew that oh no, they haven't made any changes to them. People sometimes don't pay attention...

I have picked up via the grape vine that people aren't too enamored of Envenomed Blade, yeah. Still, shurikens be mighty cool!

A large number of my toons would probably be hanging out in Croatoa (or the new Striga I suppose... or maybe the woods up near Cap au Diable???) being all magically mysterious supernatural contacts or something. Come to think of it, like my base, they'd probably have a cave you'd go see them in for whatever reason.
