  1. I just dropped one into my usually empty slot on a toon I have the carpet on, it does seem a bit faster (also turns out I already had a few movement boosts from sets etc.) Since it's usually an empty slot, seems it can't hurt to throw one in, right?
  2. I have never, never seen an MSR gate-kept that way (and I've done a lot of them), although I don't doubt it happens elsewhere (Aeon is the one I usually see the worst behavior around). I understand how a 50-only version of MSR would somehow stop/fix that. Ultimately you propose this as a reaction to power creep, not the state of this single end-game activity. You're suggestion is adjusting up to meet that creeping, not reigning it in. I think your suggestion would actually do the opposite: it would support and encourage more power creep (see again: Aeon).
  3. It would, but rememer that forum posters are not a large subset of total players. There's also posters here who say things like "I like redside a lot, but I like to team so I 'have' to play blueside because I don't want to just solo." That's me. I hardly ever played red although it's my preferred from Live, until the influx of new people anyway.
  4. I want to say I've seen it on numerous redside maps, but the wiki notes that: One appears in Mercy Island as a Transport but it cannot be destroyed in that zone. I think that one's just set dressing.
  5. It's not so much a "concern" just a distaste for tilting everything towards reinforcing the mistaken idea that one simply must have a 50 to play this game. What's the reason to make it 50 only? Why can't it still be be open to 35-50? Isn't Aeon? Let's just keep the 50-only stuff in its own lane; update this into that realm and we'll see the old version run much less often.
  6. Keep in mind that pretty much any power set in this game is perfectly playable. Period. Forum/chat experts may tell you one or the other is awful, usually with a metaphor about animal droppings, but that's your cue to disregard them on that. Some sets do min/max more uberly, some may have "more desirable" side effects like -To Hit... but they are all playable. Play what you want! Make it work for you, because it will work. And if you don't like? Make another toon.
  7. Ice Control's a good one for teams IMHO - and therefore probably for smaller teams especially - because of the Confuse in Arctic Air. I have a funny relationship with Confuses, I have to keep reminding myself that I actually love playing them, but for some reason before I make myself do so I always feel like I shouldn't for some reason, perhaps a lingering concern that "if they kill each other I don't get XP for them!" Like a little bit of excess XP is an issue anymore, ha! Having that cloud of Confuse around you is like a nice uhhh cold blanket allowing your Dom into melee range, I find. Mine was a Sav Assault Dom, so that Feral Charge just made having Arctic Air even more fun, for my play style. So if you go Ice, I'd say be sure your other set's good for melee range.
  8. I have on occasion thought to go park in a tram station as I know it grants... something? But otherwise, never think about them.
  9. That Sleep seems to me to be rife for problems like that ha ha. Have to say though, I found Time/Pistols on a Def pretty fun, but have never been able to have fun with any Kin - talk about feeling hands off!
  10. In regards to "villain's agency" being raised above: this seems to be a "cart before the horse" situation -- how can that be what's keeping people away if if no one's playing in the first place? It can be a legit thing to say it's something you didn't like that about redside, but first we have to get people on the ferry to the Etoile Islands in the first place.
  11. I like the idea of expanding the event (we've had threads epreviously suggesting side missions inside the saucer for example, etc.) and everything, except this. 50-only stuff places too much emphasis on 50s, period. There's a whole wide spectrum of fun stuff one is perfectly capable of doing sub-50. Keep the 50-only to the Incarnate-only stuff, please.
  12. This is very true, I've nearly-randomly chosen a couple of those and struck pay dirt in one form or another just about every time. Even ending up with an arc that could have been better, much of what's in it most of them still worked pretty well and I ended up having fun with them. Thanks for the poking around cranebump (and reminding me that all my stories should have SFMA in the description :P).
  13. It's not a beg! Simple support ticket, "Hi can I please have three more AE arcs to be awarded by our talented and attractive Devs?" and boom.
  14. Fun for tanking, for porting in and dropping an AoE hold/mezz, fun for jumping to where your teammate is that needs your help. Got separated form the team? Click on one of them and port to them! My advice: I find macros easier to deal with, but that's just me; I have no interest in setting up a bind nor remembering which fifteen mouse buttons does what. I don't mess around with the "jump a hundred feet forward" because I know that means I'll keep over or undershooting a lot; I prefer porting to a $target instead. I know others feel differently.
  15. ... But I don't understand, how many merits did you get???
  16. You know you can get basically unlimited arcs now for the asking right? 😃
  17. Sparkly rubbish (new toon name!) that sells for a lot, for now, plus they're getting easy merits! Literally everyone knows this game is and can only ever be about rigging your way to phat stacks,* so of course people gonna farm. *Please to be noting my sarcasm here, folks
  18. I have a larger screen now as of a few months ago and it's not such an issue anymore, but before I had replaced it, yeah, it really blocked valuable screen space for me too. There's reasons you might not want it gone, such as tracking the health of that pistol guy and his dog in the arena, but....
  19. I do find the current palette limited, there's fewer options in the warmer side of the spectrum (reds, oranges, yellows) and because I was trying to emulate a particular color mix I found on an animated character's costume from a film (not trying to recreate the character just using the colors) I discovered there's no satisfyingly teal color either.
  20. I thought the map worked just fine, perhaps a tad too big, but as I said, that's subjective I think. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this arc being outdated... I wouldn't judge your work against others' that way. As I see it, any artistic endeavor is you setting a goal in mind to create, and if it's executed it well, therefore it's a success. Maybe say making a cubism painting isn't the hot new thing right now, but if you still made a good one, you made a good one.
  21. I've been told some like to drop it into the Build UP powers because you can more "depend on it going off then, when you need it." Someone whose name I've forgotten (I think he was the guy making all the wildly over-procced builds for blasters etc.) did some testing, and his response to putting it into Tactics whilst on a team (esp. with pets, as @Arcadio noted) was very "OMG, This. Will. Not. Stop. Proccing." Sounds like it very good for MMs that way, because of the plethora of pets! Because I like it better as a fire-and-forget, I always drop it into Tactics, myself, but that may just be a subjective choice. Imagine how it must proc when you're in a league too...
  22. I got it all done much like how @Perfidy did, which puts me in mind of this scene...
  23. If I don't have what feels like "enough" natural movement from say IO set bonuses, I might click one of the prestige thingies like Slide. Other than that and I end up getting hung up too often for my tastes on torches, on wall decorations, etc. If my toon has Hover, then that's usually enough; Combat Jumping means I can hop-hop-hop at what I feel is a reasonable rate. If you want your insane-o speeds for a speed run, I dunno, then whatever you prefer normally I guess.
  24. And there's me who wants an all-big-cats team, to heck with them dogs!
  25. Just ran it, it's fantastic. The world building was great and, uncommonly, was done during the story ion service of the story. Repurposed critters were chosen and done really well. Map choices sometimes felt a tad too big, but barely if so; so that's a small, subjective quibble at worst. The story felt like it had stakes, and made me feel very heroic. I got killed a few times in the next to last mission which was starting to frustrate, but I'm a squishie so that's on me (bring break-frees if you're susceptible ha ha). Some interesting mechanics choices in one missions. Her costume choice was good yes. 😃 I can't otherwise think of anything else to add, this was probably one of the best, most solid missions I think I've ever run.
