  1. The grey-area T shirt sites had/have them (I haven't looked recently though). I bought a few, and have a hoodie with the Arachnos logo on it.
  2. I think a problem here is that there's only so much population. Say 25% of the population runs MSRs. Once split between the two options, a certain percent of that group ("people playing level 50 characters who want a little challenge in the game but are gatekept out of advanced mode TFs/SFs" for example) will then go off and run this 50-only content. That means less to run the old version, and probably that they will be run less often. If I'm right about that, then that means the window's shifted, again, to favoring "only 50s" toon in this game, which i more power creep. Speaking of such things, whatever happened to that instanced version of the MSR? I don't think I've been on one of those in ages. Has anyone else seen them done commonly; any idea why not? Weren't they sort of kicked up so more of the foes were tougher?
  3. I just wish they'd all show on their different menus (Most Recent, Accolades, etc.) in alp0habetical order. I had a toon with one set that fit, then accidentally unset it, and spent about a full minute going trough the menus trying to find, and still wasn't able to. My time was limited so I couldn't just go through them all slowly one by one.
  4. I took Shred for my "BAMPF Melee" stalker, because another AoE is always useful, especially once I've hopped into the center of another group. I don't use it all the time, but often enough that I don't regret it.
  5. Many ATs were designed originally to be ranged-only, but as the game plays today, they can be melee fairly easily. If MMs are the only AT that are still required to stick to that design philosophy, then you're describing a gimped AT. But I do think @Glacier Peak has a point: the root of the problem here is power creep. I think it began back on Live when they introduced Incarnate content and didn't, imho, scale up MMs enough to face that. Now as IO'ed builds-to-the-gills and +4/4star stuff becomes more and more the norm, that gap is just widening.
  6. I didn't say anything about melee vs. range. Blasters aren't meant to be melee either, so my analogy to losing capability as they suffer heavy damage still applies.
  7. I wish it did. I suppose I could save the costume, then try and load it onto a new toon, and see what goes away; sadly my time for playing tonight is over. I was sort of hoping maybe someone here might know, or a helpful Dev might happen by (hint hint)...
  8. The AT's mechanic is part of the problem. As the MM/pet team starts to take damage, especially big chunks, the pets start to drop, which means the MMs damage goes down. I don't think any other AT suffers this was, imagine being a Blaster that took a huge slam of damage and then lost their nuke, or the Build Up or something. When you start to lose, you spiral down into losing faster. And then, yeah, there's the whole panicked and terribly slow trying to re-summon and rebuff, while taking more damage, or trying to guess if some secondary power might be better here or what...
  9. Yeah, I've been on more than one PUG where somebody drops out and then, suddenly, we're getting wiped a lot.
  10. Maybe it's not so story heavy, but have you done Market Crash yet? Getting a purple as you pop 50 would be icing on the cake.
  11. So on a whim I hopped on my old MM Maid Of Metal, and whilst running about thought to myself she needs a new costume with the Sybil dress. So I go to do that and noticed that every costume slot was locked (little padlock in the upper left-hand corner) off with that message about This costume contains some [something something 'no longer supported choices' or whatever] and will change if you open it. Do you want to proceed anyway? Can anyone spot which part is no longer supported in its place? Did the cyber arm option get moved or something maybe? Did something here actually get removed for good?
  12. White - 255 Yellow - 2 or 3K (after checking if I have one in storage) orange - say 300L (ditto) I generally only craft something if it's selling for a million+ and there's at least as many bidders as sellers; sometime I price below the market to make sure it sells; the rest of the recipes get vendored. I've flipped purples before, but then as the market contracted (along with the player base) I got stuck with a whole bunch (ten to fifteen?) until nearly Halloween when I assume they were being bought up by kindly folks offering treats in the spiffy Halloween bases (got bless 'em, that was sure fun). Sometimes I do super packs, but not often. This is how lazy I am at the marketing sub-game. And I still have lots, more than enough to IO out each character as they level up. This is why farming is such a waste of time to me (on top of the whole "boring me to tears" deal).
  13. A lot of the squishie builds I see (and use) slot the full Gaussian's set in Tactics for the +Def values too, but for a scrapper, that is smart slotting.
  14. I've done that before too, got one within a hair of 50 and then realized I'd had a same-builder that I'd dropped then forgotten about by something like 42. For those two, it had been the character theme that didn't click until it did later. I'm also in the same boat with "old 50s," I think I have five pages of them by now. I should take the time for the busywork of stripping then dumping them. I have an AR blaster from pre-update to AR and that was fine to play, but I never go back, so there's no point in rejiggering them based upon the updates - or, more likely, I'll just never find the drive to do so anyway.
  15. They'll be back come Halloween, no worries!
  16. My bad, I do that all the time. This is why no one should be trusting me with a ranged attack, I'm likely to mis-tab and do something stupid like that.
  17. As I never farm characters up, I hadn't considered that, but I think you're right.
  18. I take it you mean you're currently playing a level 34 mission or on a level 34 team with your level 50 character, right? That said, a note saying "only 50th level-capped characters may slot this" on purples isn't a bad idea. Run and post it in the Suggestions area of the forums!
  19. I just dropped one into my usually empty slot on a toon I have the carpet on, it does seem a bit faster (also turns out I already had a few movement boosts from sets etc.) Since it's usually an empty slot, seems it can't hurt to throw one in, right?
  20. I have never, never seen an MSR gate-kept that way (and I've done a lot of them), although I don't doubt it happens elsewhere (Aeon is the one I usually see the worst behavior around). I understand how a 50-only version of MSR would somehow stop/fix that. Ultimately you propose this as a reaction to power creep, not the state of this single end-game activity. You're suggestion is adjusting up to meet that creeping, not reigning it in. I think your suggestion would actually do the opposite: it would support and encourage more power creep (see again: Aeon).
  21. It would, but rememer that forum posters are not a large subset of total players. There's also posters here who say things like "I like redside a lot, but I like to team so I 'have' to play blueside because I don't want to just solo." That's me. I hardly ever played red although it's my preferred from Live, until the influx of new people anyway.
  22. I want to say I've seen it on numerous redside maps, but the wiki notes that: One appears in Mercy Island as a Transport but it cannot be destroyed in that zone. I think that one's just set dressing.
  23. It's not so much a "concern" just a distaste for tilting everything towards reinforcing the mistaken idea that one simply must have a 50 to play this game. What's the reason to make it 50 only? Why can't it still be be open to 35-50? Isn't Aeon? Let's just keep the 50-only stuff in its own lane; update this into that realm and we'll see the old version run much less often.
  24. Keep in mind that pretty much any power set in this game is perfectly playable. Period. Forum/chat experts may tell you one or the other is awful, usually with a metaphor about animal droppings, but that's your cue to disregard them on that. Some sets do min/max more uberly, some may have "more desirable" side effects like -To Hit... but they are all playable. Play what you want! Make it work for you, because it will work. And if you don't like? Make another toon.
