  1. PEBKAC issue - Target damages self (alternatively, single-target confuse) ID10T problem - Single target stun CtP - PBAoE +Recharge
  2. I think combining the offensive/defensive opportunity mechanic, changing from +Dmg to -Res, and making it always on rather than on a build-up would be the best solution for the inherent. Raising offensive and defensive scales would also be reasonable. Adding a perception mechanic in addition to these changes would be thematic and interesting, even if many see it as less useful. Toggles are a bad idea for an inherent because they will prevent large swaths of players from trying out the AT because stances are only popular among a specific subsection of the playerbase, and the goal of an inherent should be to increase the likelihood of people to play an AT, not decreasing it.
  3. What, that is only 24-32 possible stances. Incendiary, offensive, offensive couldn't go off the rails ever...
  4. Stancing and clickies work well for specific power sets, but as an inherent they are annoying at the best of times. The stancing nature of offensive/defensive opportunity is part of the problem.
  5. Right, and my solution would allow players to stay heroes and take 4/5 of the PPP.
  6. I really don't like the idea of making the inherent a clicky. That being said, two lackluster buffs tied to powers that tend to underperform is not the best way to go either. As such, the best way to go would likely be to link the two buffs together and let the buff work for either the T1 or the T2. There has also been some interesting ideas related to making Sentinels more like Sentinels. These increase +Perception, Stalker-spotting, and having perceived Mobs red triangles show up on the map. I'm not too big of a fan of leadership-auras as they will likely come at a cost of other options that will help the solo game. Some discussion has been had about offensive and defensive levels being adjusted, which I also think may be reasonable depending on other adjustments.
  7. Usually in a control set the first two powers have damage (and the second ability is a hold)... Other than that, replace "boring speech" with "lullaby" and maybe: "change hearts & minds" (alternatively "charm", "silver tongue", "Blarney", or "entice"), "enrapture" (alternatively "gaslight" or "sweet talk"), and "conjure" (alternatively "incant", "kotodama", "invocation", "seance", or "seducing satan"). This seems workable for Dominator, but would be hard to pull off with a troller... Also Rhetoric may be a better name for the set than "speech control"...
  8. You have path auras for speed, you have auras and wings for flight... it would be nice to have something for TP, but I think the others are covered... maybe broken concrete when using jump as an option...
  9. Other than the T5, they are not innately Arachnosian... Which is why I suggest the unlock only being necessary for the T5... Alright, the mace may be a little Arachnosian...
  10. Giant cartoon hammers? Like Titan Weapons?
  11. I would suggest T1 & T2 APP/PPP powers be available at 14, T3 & T4 at 24, and T5 powers at 35 (subject for discussion, of course). This would allow them to be available sooner, but mitigate some concerns about balance. Furthermore, the PPP do not need to be unlocked, but the PPP T5 does... Does that sound reasonable?
  12. In Japan most streets have no name...
  13. I'll add this to the compilation thread soontm, when I get my internet up and running (and don't have to post from a work computer).
  14. I'll add this to the compilation soontm
  15. @Leogunner, adding APP or PPP at level 14 would give mid-game builds a much greater degree of variability. This would be felt more by players that are not confined by what such&such AT is "supposed" to be. This opens the door to greater hybridization. Furthermore, the idea that his is an increase in power "more power in that level range" or "seeking stronger impact where none is needed" seems somewhat off the farm. First, the current APP/PPP powers are rarely more powerful than T6(p)/T4(s) abilities. and are more often than not on long cooldowns (meaning they would be situational rather than core powers. There is nothing in this proposal that is about filling "holes in teams," rather, this is about allowing creativity {although there are relatively small subsets of circumstances wherein it may fill holes in specific builds for solo play}. Your comments seem to be along the lines of don't give women elongated alien heads because it will have a cumulative effect with other changes and people are not even considering how this will change the game. It will change how people play as exemplar or during middle levels, but it will not change the relative strength of toons for endgame nor will it affect the power level of most mid-level toons. This is taking into consideration the current game and current changes that are in the works. I agree that a proposal such as the Operative would provide a better solution. That being said, introducing new ATs requires more work than this change, and this change would not have as many balance issues as dealing with a new AT.
  16. There are four events/trends that increased the number of available powers: Raising the level cap from 40-50 Making inherent Fitness Incarnate abilities Increasing number of available temporary powers That being said, I don't see a need to make the classes more similar to eachother. Altering mez protections, in particular, would have a negative effect on PVP content for control-oriented toons and that would be a deal-breaker for some people.
  17. I've heard Blanker and Blanktroller as well. But those require very specific builds and playstyles...
  18. It would affect the slotting for level 47/49 powers, which are often PPP APP powers, would be affected for level 50 builds, (possibly significantly so). In addition, exemplar performance would be affected to a similar degree as leveling. This would increase variability, and allow more creativity among players. It would be a powerful boon to some sets that have large holes. One example is Illusion Control, which has very little damage prior to PA. But most people would see little difference in power level (if this started at level 14). Again, I think many people are overstating the impact this change would have. If it were implemented many builds would basically be the same with minor differences in power order that improve the leveling and exemplarring experience with little change to the endgame. You may see a lot more people summoning Arachnos pets at earlier levels, but those powers are on such long recharges, that pre-50 they tend to be less reliable general powers and more panic buttonny type powers...
  19. This is an interesting idea from @Steampunkette, and a good job of clarification by @Replacement. I tend to pull toward 14 rather than 24 as a start point. The one major consequence of this would be that EPP & PPP could take more slots as the last two powers are constricted in terms of available slots. However, I do not see that as causing much if any power creep. I think that the Operative would be a better solution. It would be more controlled, (how would this proposal effect Controllers? Masterminds? Sentinels?) provide a better experience, and produce a greater range of choices. That being said, it would also require more work.
  20. While some posts did go too far "you're doing it wrong," comes to mind. That being said, the hostile responses of the OP have been over the top as well. It is important to be civil, even when dealing with an ideal that may not be the most thought out. I would like to see more posts from the OP, as this board is a place for community, and if someone wants to put together proposals and try to help with the discourse, the more the merrier. The market on the server I use, it is cheaper to buy an attuned enhancement than to buy a recipe, salvage, crafting cost, and catalyst... so I don't buy recipes. I've also noticed that the rate of sale for recipes is quite slow, which implies the prices which recipes are posted tend to be overpriced, moving people to crafting their IOs in order to move them faster. Not sure, but that seems to be the trend. There are many paths to your goal, if one isn't working, try another. I do not think that seeding the market is a good alternative as it will either lead to inflation (more wealth added to the economy, meaning higher prices, making new players highly disadvantaged), or it will lead to overpriced seeded recipes sitting in the market and taking up digital space without actually solving the problem.
  21. This sounds like it could either be an EAT, or two new sets. This is basically a Sentinel.
  22. The market is seeded by activity. While there are many people out there farming and selling recipes, certain recipes may not have made it to the market yet. This is further complicated by the reality that most recipes are worth more post-crafting. As such, people generally put few recipes on the auction block. regular IO recipes are currently selling for less than you would get them for from a vendor. As demand and supply increases the market will become more robust, but it will just take time.
  23. Nice, is that from the Mental Projection set? What did you do for armor powers?
  24. One issue I have with Swap ammo is that it suppresses the -Def proc from many of the sets other powers. This makes it a lot less valuable as the -Def will increase the accuracy of your entire team...
  25. Great news! Also, wondering if you could try putting together a new Assault set, something like this... I mean, just for practice, if you have time. I mean this would be a great compliment to the Hellfire Aura set, but it is, of course, up to you. I have been meaning to put up a server to test on my own, but have been insanely busy the past six months.
