  1. I find one character that I absolutely love and play him/her for a month. . . Then I create 10 more. . . And then I play each of those for the next month. . . Then I remember my lost love and go back to him/her. . . Then I create 10 different characters. . . And the cycle continues on and on. . . Just remember when your ex takes you back make sure you use protection (inspirations). . .
  2. I will add one more to this discussion, and she is by far and away, the favorite Tank I have ever played. With Tier 4 incarnates and all her enhancements I havent found much that moves her health bar and enough damage to take on AV's solo, go through the Imperious TF at +4/8 solo (yes I did break down and get the daggers because the final AV battle was so loooooooong), but this girl is an absolute beast and blast to play. . . I highly recommend giving Shield/Savage a try!!
  3. For me it is PB, WS, Defenders, and Corruptors. . . As a matter of fact, corruptors are the only class I have NEVER taken to level 50, here or on live. . . I just find them underwhelming in every capacity.
  4. Been away awhile but this is the build I use and she is pretty unstoppable even outside Fire Farms. . . If you are looking to strictly do AE Farming there are better builds. . . 6. Thanks for all the help with this adventure! Have to say she has become one of my all time favorite characters! Now that I am finally 50 and starting to slot Incarnate abilities I have to say she is ridiculously powered. . . While my damage may not be enough to solo a +4/8 AV everything else just melts. . . So much fun, have to say she rivals my stalker for kill speed and her HP bar barely moves on most things! Final Build posted below. . . I ended up completely dropping patron/epic since they just felt redundant. . . Savage Leap, rending, Blood Thirst, Shield Charge, Rending, Savage Leap and everything but a boss is already dead. . . Yeah a +4 boss at level 50 still takes awhile to whittle down but Incarnate shifts should help that tremendously! 7. I started a thread a few days ago about a Proc Monster build with SD/SM and good lord is it fun! In about 3 days I am at level 50 without farming. . . Been running +3/8 since level 38 and Savage Leap plus Rending Fury then build-up Shield Charge then Fireball (for -resist proc) then Rending Fury and all that is left is a boss. . . Yes it takes a bit to whittle a boss down but positional softcap, S&L resists over 90%,/FC over 80%/ENT over 60 and she is a beast. . . Plus if you always wanted to play a shield offensive set the look of these two sets will make you feel like Cap! End use is a little heavy but Incarnates or P2W vendor handle that!
  8. Afternoon all! Well, I am closing in on 50 and should hit it today or tomorrow. . . Almost entirely solo and have to say this girl has been a blast. . . I have tried out multiple builds and still not sure where to go. Right now I am testing out a build with fireball but have to say, I have been soloing +8/+4 since about level 38 (Savage Leap/Shield Charge/build up to full frenzy and Rending Fury/Savage Leap) and everything but the bosses are dead. . . So much fun I am surprised there are only 15 SD/SM tanks out there!!!

  10. I thought the point of slotting Procs was to use as little +recharge in powers as possible? Several of the powers you slotted have +recharge enhancements? Doesn't the +recharge diminish the proc firing? And thank you for pointing out I forgot to include SGF .. . no clue how I missed that. @Redlynneand @HjarkiI do have an alternative build using Mu Mastery. . . Again, I just rather enjoy LM and as I said this isn't to min/max it is a "for fun" build utilizing procs instead of standard slotting with sets.
  11. Upated build with some suggestions from @Hjarkiand other alterations. @Redlynneokay, I was thinking similar since I use cones the same way you describe and never had an issue hitting a large group before...Granted both coned are only 30% but as I said, this is a "for fun" build that can get beat on and do decent damage. . . And I always liked the sounds of bile spray. . . yeah I know I am a little weird! 12. Thanks for the input. I actually have a Savage/Shield Stalker and she was by far the fastest leveling I have ever done in game and cruises through almost anything fully incarnated and IO'd out. So I figured I would try an alternative tank build with some of the proc chances to make it more interesting. That being said: 1) Accuracy was a concern so I agree with you 100% there. 2) Not sure what you mean about Savage Leap though. I don't have any procs slotted in it but the Tanker IO's. 3) Again not sure what you mean about armor slotting? I am not slot starved other than Savage Strike so I could move things around but I like to get my defense and resist as close to or higher than soft cap. . .. 4) This is what I was looking for since the math is beyond me. . . Needed you number crunchers to help out and appreciate it. 5) Leviathan is mostly just an aesthetic choice and was wondering how procs would function (thought I read somewhere that they worked well in LM but maybe I am in error). Also,
  13. Okay, I have been trying to follow the PPM and Proc Monster Threads, but even as a longtime vet (started way back in Issue 4) and someone that prides myself on some of the intricate workings of this game. . . I am. . Alas, at a loss. . . So I turn to you, forums that I love but rarely post on, and @Sir Myshkin@Bopper@Hjarkiand anyone else that can help to quantify if I am wasting my time with my attempt to make a fun, playable, Proc Monster Tank. I am not looking for a Master of. . . solo tank. . . but a fun character to take in +4/8 maps and have fun smashing while getting smashed on and ignoring all that damage in (mostly) unmitigated bliss! 14. Done! I am one of the 25-30 million people who is currently unemployed so it cant be as much as I would have liked to donate but if it wasn't for CoH the last 8 weeks would have been INSANE!!! Thanks for helping keep me sane during these crazy times.
  15. I am not sure about all this since I tend to not play blasters all that often. . . But my new project is my elec/mental/mace blaster and she cruises through missions - maybe not at +4/8 but +2/8 - in her late 30's just fine. I figure by the time I have her Incaranted she will be a beast and a half. But I also like to nuke from distance, close in and finish them off with shockwave. I have played many "unplayable" sets and honestly, while some may be slower I haven't had issues playing any of them!
  16. Welcome home. . . May your cape never get caught in a turbine and may all your heroes be villians!

  18. Or you know, you can start a second account and PL your own toons for FREE! Someone quoted PT Barnum earlier in the thread and I also love: "a fool and his money are soon parted. . ." If people want to pay they will, ignore and move on in life. I often throw up "Free farm run" when I have time to farm and believe it or not, I don't get that many takers. . . I, also, never farm my own toons to 50. . . 38 is where I start to really enjoy playing them so that is usually where I take my own characters then play them until they are complete on incarnate Tier 3's.
  19. Absolutely LOVE savage on my stalker! My brute not so much. Yes Hemmorage from hide is ridiculous but my Savage/Shield is so much fun. . . Build-up+Shield Charge+Fireball+Savage Leap (fully proc'd out is so much fun)+Slash+AF and finish with Rending Furry at 4 or 5 stacks and just about everything = DEAD. Since hitting 40 started soloing at +4/8 with yellow inspirations, small purple, and an occasional heal and not much survives me. Absolutely, one of the most fun toons I have built (and didn't cost me much since I stripped out my fire/ice Stalker which was nowhere near as fun)!
  20. I have been enjoying my FM/Ice stalker and was soft-capped with minimal investment around 32. However, I feel like damage is somewhat lackluster even with FSC and Fireball out of hide (have the to hide proc in FSC). I can definitely solo +4/8 and have been doing that since about level 41 but it is slow. . . As a matter of fact, I think my Ill/Dark troller solo's faster. But it is difficult to die even if I am not paying much attention between Hoarfrost and Icy Bastion. . .
  21. Was finally logged-in when the announcement was made! Happy to donate to this great cause! Thank you again for everything you guys have done!
  22. Seriously, roll a grav/dark and live through anything. . . so much fun. . . I will admit one drawback: very click heavy but if you like to engage with a character roll a Grav/Dark
  23. I will tell you, when the original announced its closure I was in New York on a week long vacation. . . My wife teases me to this day how that announcement ruined the last 3 days of our vacation and how she couldn't believe I would shed tears over a game. . . When it came back, her first response was, "Well I know I wont see you come out of your office but at least you will be happy. . ." So yes, bribe that woman to take the plunge and make a superduo!
  24. Honestly, there are so many unused locations in game already so how about something that tweaks Red and Gold side groups to encourage playing them: Red Side: Please be something other than longbow Gold Side: revamp most of the groups so lowbies can actually go through and enjoy the arcs More costume pieces, finish the power pool offerings and remove the 4 pool limit so that could almost be a subset of powers, new ways to earn merits or incarnate threads other than grinding (don't know exactly how but maybe bring back sidekicks and "x" rewards for sidekicks or something that already exists in code that has been removed), and because I am an old timer how about scaling back some of the old "nerfs" just in certain zones - cuz I miss the hilarity of tank herders in Perez Park :-D
  25. Welcome home! I found it on a fluke when it first relaunched on this server, then was shut-off, then was back! And much to my wife's chagrin. . . I have done nothing much since it has returned - but I am in a much better mood!
