https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Alignment_Mission If you are a hero and you click "Investigate" it should give you an option to do the Hero thing or a Vigilante thing. If you not in a city zone, like Ouroboros or Rikti War Zone then you may get an error message like this is not an approprate place to investigate . regards, Screwloose. Lots of things go well with Spines. I like Dark Armour. The Death Shroud damage double up with the AE from Spines. The move reduction from Spines means that critters stagger from Oppressive Gloom is lessened. The stealth lets you get into good positions to AE easily. But the Recharge reduction from Spines is also particularly good for any Regeneration based defense. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."

Stalker would be an option, I teamed with a Staff Stalker while back and it looked good, although this character was always going to be a Scrapper or a Tanker. If I do Staff again then Stalker could be it. Maybe I just need to get the powers slotted and reconsider stuff other than my usual IO sets. Certainly I am softcapped on Smash and Lethal so that is a good start.

Thanks all Now level 37 and still enjoying my Staff / Energy. Staff certainly has no difficulty dealing the damage and lot of very generous AEs so good in a team. But I still miss my build up, even hit my build up key occasionally just in case. Energy Aura working, but not going to be as good as some of my other melees, just because of the lack of synergy with IO sets. Got my Smash and Lethal Def to 39.95% now I have slotted the +Def Steadfast and Gladiators. regards Screwloose "I am not young enough to know everything."

Hi all Scrappers I recently started a Staff Fighting / Energy Aura scrapper, just got to level 27, and I am enjoying it, but it doesn't feel great yet. Staff Fighting is filling out as I have gotten more of the attacks, but the lack of burst damage makes it feel un-scrappery. Energy Aura so far I can only say feels very lack luster. Any one got any tips or assistance they can give me to make me a better Staff / Energy scrapper. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."

No non-attuned IOs never convert to attuned IOs. You can use a Converter on an Attuned IO and it changes it to a different Attuned IO, but it is a bit more random than converting non-Attuned IOs because there is something screwy with the way it works out what level they are so there are a wider range of sets that it can Convert into. I have seen posts about this but the basic info I took was don't use Converters on Attuned IOs . regards, Screwloose "I am not young enough to know everything."

Exemping With Purples And You - Er, I Mean Me!
ScrewlooseCohh replied to Clave Dark 5's topic in General Discussion
So I think that page was written before ATOs and WinterOs, which would seem to be similar to the initial Purple very rare IOs. Does the same rule apply to ATO and WinterO's? Thanks, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything." -
Farming Incarnate Salvage - 1 salvage roll every 15 minutes!
ScrewlooseCohh replied to Oklahoman's topic in Guides
BAF can give more threads as drops, but my rate of VR salvage is definitely better with Heather Townshend. Plus I can start it at the drop of a hat and it gives better Exp and iExp than a BAF. One thing I would suggest to people is that you should try putting out an open recruiting call on the LFG channel as doing it with a small group is even better exp and good fun too. regards, Screwloose. I have had similar ambivalence towards sets as you. I don't think you need IO sets at all, and some people I play with seem to find the game less challenging once they have gone to the trouble of squeezing the last 1% of performance out of their build. Like much of the game I find that good enough is good enough, but I guess my benchmark has moved a little to the point where I use IO sets without worrying about that last 1%. After doing a little character building engineering for a couple of characters I found that I liked the same sets on each type of power pretty much no matter what character they were on. So I can just get the same sets for all the ranged powers on all my characters, and melee, pbaoe, hold and so on. Once you have found sets you like then don't worry if they aren't the absolute best. Also i don't worry if they are cheap, trying to get the most expensive thing just because it is most expensive is pointless and I don't much like the bonuses the expensive sets give anyway. The only other is acquiring them. In the old days there was a time when collecting some of the materials and recipes to make your enhancements was at least partly feasible, but with the way the Auction House has been implemented you are better off just selling whatever resources come your way and buying the enhancements you need. I always buy Attuned Enhancements and they cost no more than the non-Attuned ones. If you craft and sell everything that drops for you that will make a profit from about level 25 to 40 then you will make a fair bit of Inf, and there are simple strategies for crafting and using Enhancement Converters to increase the value of uncommon set IOs (look in the guides section). This does take a little while to master and to implement, but last weekend I went on a bit of a plunge with one of my characters who was going to need a fair bit of influence soon and in an hour crafted 50 Enhancements upgraded them using about 100 reward merits and sold then over about 36 hours for 119 million influence. I am sure others do better, but I can easily turn out 1 million a reward merit. They are something there to be used when and as you can, but not at all necessary. The most important thing is to have fun. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."

Hi Tankers Just wanted to sanity check with the wisdom of the crowd. I have both ATO sets on my Invuln / Street Justice tanker and am going to do a fine tuning respec soon. Which powers would be best for the ATO sets? Thanks, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."

Are there any underrated money makers for converter crafting?
ScrewlooseCohh replied to Gravitus's topic in The Market
Chasing the big fish I think is more effort than it is worth. Converter flipping of enhancements goes through three stages for me. Converting to a different Uncommon until I get a category where there are a good proportion of Rare sets. Convert in category to get to Rare. Convert to a different Rare until i get one that will likely sell for 2 Million. If after any flip I think the Enhancement might sell for a decent price then I put it on the market and click Find and see what it says. When you are lucky one of your Uncommon flips will get you a decent selling Enh and you can stop spending converters on it. Trying to chase what was FotM yesterday or last week is less important than what is a decent price now. Pricing for sale is the other part of the issue. regards, Screwloose. I started one since it seemed they weren't popular from the FotM stats. It is only level 18 and not a much played Alt yet, but I am enjoying it. I can see why maybe people don't like Ice Ice as a combo. It is not fast and like all defense based sets can suffer from poor RNG runs. But the slow and recharge debuffs reduce the threat of mobs a lot and Ice Slick gives you a bunch of free swings at any mobs who come to melee you, Maybe those factors make it a stronger combo in a team setting, but I am still finding it fun soloing. regards, Screwloose. <Manifesto Warning> 1. Be sure that Purple Sets are what you want to slot. Back in the day I slotted multiple Purple sets in my characters because they had the biggest set bonuses. Since return I have looked more closely at the set bonuses that were going to impact my effectiveness and the Purple sets aren't measuring up. 1A. Developing a character is a process not an end point. You don't have to have all the things that your final build desires immediately and without going though using lesser resources. Unslotters are cheap and you can benefit from having a cheaper set slotted and using it's set bonuses while you gather the resources to get more expensive sets. 2. Play the game. I think this is the main issue that your question goes to and for me one of the best things about CoHH is that to get ahead what you need to do is to play the game. You should do this in whatever way you find most fun, And if others want to do it a different way then let them and keep doing it your way. Defeating mobs is the way ahead and where and how you do that is up to you. AE farms can provide a reliable and predicable source of action, but you can get a consistent stream of missions full of mobs with repeatable missions with little effort or story arcs with a little effort engaging with contacts. Being a half decent team former and knowing what rewards you can get from what content are the two things you need to make the most of your playtime. It isn't hard to get some fellow supers together for some action, just throw it out there on LFG and be prepared to have something for the team to do. Radio or Newspaper missions are always there, There are repeatable missions in the Rikti War Zone and Dark Astoria which are cooperative zones so you can have heroes and villains in your team. Don't wait to fill your team, just go with whatever you can get and shout out for more every 5 minutes or so. Orouboros is a good way to access content of whatever length you like from a single mission to a 13 door epic arc and can give lots of different rewards, The Who Will Die arc is 7 chapters that each give 20 reward merits the first time you do them and then you can chose one to do once a week and still get 20 reward merits and can be done quite quickly, Dark Astoria Chapter 1 Heather Townshend is 4 door missions that can be done in 30 to 15 minutes, solo or in a team and gives a reward of 2 pieces of Incarnate salvage. good if you don't like big raids or aren't around when the iTrials are run. 3. Know how to get the best return from your resources. You don't have to do anything, but a little work can get you to your goals earlier. Pretty much every set recipe you get as a drop from level 20 to 40 is going to get you a profit if you craft and put them up on the AH. Set the price at 85% of the average price of the last 5 sales and you will get decent returns. Alternatively you could do a little converting, a couple of flips for 2 Converters can change a Yellow enh to an Orange one then a couple more at 1 converter can get you something that will sell for 2 or more million Inf. There is nothing wrong with using whatever method you are most comfortable with, and purple recipes for Reward merits is as straightfoward as it gets, but a bit of craft and trade can give good returns without getting into any serious market shenanigans. 4. Learn, but don't play ugly. You have already started by asking the question, but don't let the opinions of others ruin your enjoyment of the game. Reading how others navigate the game and achieve their goals can be useful but don't let it drag you into playing in a way that isn't fun for you, Keep having fun and good luck. regards, Screwloose. The most important factor is behind the keyboard. By his Acts will you know the quality Tank. Confidently into the next spawn. Taunting any stragglers or outliers. Able to gather a spawn so that they can be efficiently AE'ed, by using line of sight or engaging mobs so they sue their melee attacks. Tolerant of knock back and mobs being immobilised away in odd corners. Not too greedy of the aggro, your teammates should be able to handle one or two minions no matter their AT. Able to gauge the tempo that their team can handle and engaging new spawns at the appropriate time. AT and powerset are less important than how your Tank acts. regards, Screwloose.
