  3. There wasn’t a lot of thought behind it. When I started I was seeing runs of purchases around 150 and I thought that was a level where someone was getting a bad deal so I started putting bulk buy orders of my own at higher than whatever I was seeing. I think that started at about 500 and has slowly crept up. When I say bulk I am only talking about 30 to 40 stacks on 4 or 5 characters. So between 150 and 200 stacks in total. Which is a bit, but I am seeing about 20,000 buy orders at some points so I am at most 10% of the standing buy orders. I was also interested to see what would happen. One thing that happened is that there seem to be others with large bulk buy orders, because every few days I will find my orders not filled and see purchases a couple of inf higher than I was offering. So I bump my buy price and put another round of bulk orders in. That peaked at 851 and has slipped back a bit since. Also there is an element of price support. I think around 1000 is a reasonable price for yellow salvage so I wouldn’t be bulk buying at a higher price than that and when I need some for crafting I usually pay less than 1000, depending on how quick I want it. In the last couple of weeks I have been interested to see how low the stockpile (over the seed stock) will go and it seems to be slowly going down. I have no idea what the low point will be, at some point we will get to the stranded stock that people have way overpriced, but I think we are still away to go to get there. regards, Screwloose. 4. I have often bought whole bunches of white salvage at under an up to 250 a piece and vendored them just to take excess volume out of the system. For a few weeks I have been keeping several hundred buy orders in for yellow salvage at under 1000 and vendoring whatever I get. At the start I could get 100's a day at 505 each, recently it has been up to 851 and I haven't filled all my buy orders each day. At the same time the number of salvage pieces for sale has been going down from about 34k to under 28k. Though I think it will be harder to get it down as it gets lower. regards, Screwloose. 5. I folllowed this guide for getting all my Ouro badges. Generally easier if you can do the Villain arcs as they are shorter and often in the one zone. Regards, Screwloose "I am not young enough to know everything."
  6. Although still available via Orouboros flashback. It doesn't get run often, but I do see it and have done it once for my badging character. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."
  7. I believe it is from the below https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Field_Agent_Keith_Nance#Story_Arc regards, Screwloose "I am not young enough to know everything."
  8. Thanks I probably bought a couple as well. 23% return isn't bad although I suspect it would take me a lot longer for someone who wasn't as experienced in shelling packs (like me). How many packs would you think you would have to open to avoid a bad run cruelling your return? regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."
  9. It is the one under Sleep, it is called Snare. Some CoH effects have more than one name. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."
  10. Nice I saw a character on lfg a week or so back that had a name that started with Auntie and it got my gears turning about characters I could make Auntie Viral, Auntie Terrorist, Auntie Disestablishmentarian (probably too long). Then it hit me and I jumped in to make a savage stalker, but the name was already taken Auntie Maim (you will have to be of a certain age to get the reference). But it don't go to waste, I made a claws stalker instead, an out of retirement fascist fighter Auntie Fa.
  11. About a week ago I had an idea for a character and mentioned it to a couple of friends saying I would get around to making it sometime. Then when I did the name was taken, so I had to do a contraction on part of it. Later that afternoon one of the friends came on and said he like the idea so much he had grabbed it to make sure it didn't go and was soon as I needed it he would change so I could get it. The character is an Electric Armour / Stone Melee Tank - Shock and Ore.
  12. 1. Options - Windows - Personal Player Name. Set to Enabled and it should work. 2. There is a day night cycle, but the Halloween event is on at the moment so there is a lot of spooky atmospherics happening. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."
  13. Spending more time is definitely always helpful in selling high and buying low. I tend to target level 31 Set IOs as they are cheap to craft and convert to a decent range of high value outcomes. If I put bids in for Yellow recipes at about 10k each then i generally can get 20 to 40 overnight. And that's the key. Put your bids in and go away and come back the next night. Once I have some recipes I put bids in for all the Yellow salvage I need, again at a medium level and wait to the next day. Then I pay whatever for the white salvage, cause whether I get it cheap for 11 or expensive for 555 it isn't impacting my profit margin. Then when I am in a craft flip and sell roll each evening i put bids in for whatever i need for the next evening. That might be more recipes, or more converters or more Yellow salvage. And I craft up and flip whatever I can and then put up bids to restock whatever i need. I generally flip until I get something that looks like it will sell for 2 mil, and setting a sale price just a scratch under the last 5 sales generally works for me without too much thought. Once I have enough Inf that I am not going to run out I set higher prices for some Enh if my experience tells me that will sell in a longer time frame for a higher price. Something that will sell in a day for 2.5 mil might sell sometime in the next week for 6.5 mil. Generally after 7 to 10 days I am at 400 to 500 mil and then I stop and use the rest of my converters to flip recipes I get as drops and sometimes buy some more converters if I need to. regards Screwloose. 14. When I started the uncommon to rare IO flip process I kept fairly good track of return per Reward Merit and because the process is random it does go up and down, but a baseline of 1 Mil Inf per Reward Merit is what I would expect. Now that I am more comfortable with the process I don't really keep track. Even buying all the materials, recipes and converters off the AH I am still making worthwhile profit, and it is inf for a little bit of time invested in a mildly distracting mini-game. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."
  15. Definitely that's how converters work. If you convert a Hold to another Hold then it will change to another Hold of a different Set, At level 31 and higher there are for many IOs only two sets, once Uncommon and one Rare. So for a bunch of sets a level 31 Uncommon will always convert to a level 31 Rare. That's the basic flipping strategy. Level 31 Uncommon to Level 31 Rare then randomly among Level 31 Rares til you get a good one. You can try for more focused strategy, like by taking your Defense IOs and flipping inside that until you get a Luck of the Gambler Global recharge. Targeting a high value IO can mean you get a lot for that one sale but it takes a lot more Converters. I did something similar with Impervium Psi Resistance and it worked, I got a profit, but it took a lot of resources and several weeks for them to sell to make that profit. regards, Screwloose "I am not young enough to know everything."
  16. My rule of thumb when flipping level 31 Set IO's is as soon as it hits something that will sell in a short time for 2 million or more then I throw it on the market. When I am working up the bank for a character then I can do batches of 30 to 50 Enh at a time and usually end up at an average of just under 6 Converters per IO. You can get lucky and get a high value IO after one or two flips and you will get that single IO that just does not want to convert to anything saleable. But if you do a lot then it will average out. The trick in my mind is whatever you do to get the Inf you need it has to be as fun as possible so that it seems as un-grindy as possible. regards, Screwloose. 17. Erm Nil. I make every character work up their own cash and assets. Often I will grab some stuff off the market at under the NPC vendor sale price and cash it in. Then I will flip some white salvage til I get to the 7000 items sold badge, gets me about 2 Mil. Then after I have done some TFs and Arcs I cash in my Merits for Enhancement Converters and start flipping level 31 Enh. That will take me up to over 100 Mil and then I can start buying Enhancement Converters and flipping til I have as much Inf as I think I am going to need. On the other hand I did bank roll my two last characters that I was starting to generate Inf for with 5 Mil each just because it greased the wheels and meant I didn't have to worry about a cash flow bottle neck. regards, Screwloose. 18. Absolutely. I would say that +3 is likely to be a bit faster Exp than +4 on a per minute basis. On a per mission basis +4 will be the highest Exp, but if the missions take a long time then on a per minute basis they may be less. But making that kind of adjustment on the fly for different team configurations is not something many people are going to be comfortable with. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."
  19. I am not sure this is true, If a critter can drop an item then the level the critter is doesn't influence the chance to that is will drop something. A higher level critter will drop higher level Enhancements and recipes and different salvage, but that is about it. As long as the critters are above level 50 they will drop Purple recipes and Enhancement Catalysts. A 54 critter doesn't drop those more often than a 50 critter. And you will chew through level 50 critters faster so your drops per minute will be greater. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."
  20. I would say there is potentially some correlation between the people who form teams and the people with the sort of minds and desire to make their characters perform above and beyond. Those people are also interested in challenge, so if it isn't causing them issues then it isn't hard enough and they know they can survive +4/x8. Myself I tend to have a look at what my teammates have set for their own missions. I would estimate that about 20% of the people who join my teams have no missions. I have no idea what they do in the game besides join other people's teams. Although I did have one character which I decided not to get contact missions for just to see if I could. About 50% of players are set at +0/x0 which makes me think they have never changed their difficulty settings. Only about 15% of players who join my teams have a setting above +1. My vague thought is that people who play on higher settings are team makers not team joiners. Personally I only like so much challenge and erring on the side of cakewalk gives me less concern than setting too high so I often am a bit under what some players prefer. regards, Screwloose "I am not young enough to know everything."
  21. I tend to find that about Vet level 12 I finish up T4 for all incarnate powers. I finds it takes about to about Vet Level 7 to unlock all the slots and then iTrials and speed running Dark Astoria Ch1 for Components and generally save Empyran Merits to get the last Rare or Very Rare that won't drop. But it varies, the last two characters I had doing their Incarnate progression one took to Vet level 18 to get all T4's the other got quite lucky with Component drops and hit 6 x T4 at Vet level 8. The Ramiel arc can be tough, although the Lady Grey bit is the toughest bit. Turn down your difficulty or recruit some new friends. Recruiting a few without waiting for a full team is also good for runs of the Dark Astoria Ch1 arc. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."
  22. Yep, can't deny. I have seen a few names I recall on the forums, good to see so many of the old hands back again. The divine Oscar is my favorite forum signoff, but I will leave you with another. "If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking."
  23. You don't get any Incarnate threads for veteran levels after VetLevel 10. So that is not so much a slow as a halt. You will continue to get Empyran Merits every veteran level divisible by 3, but fewer until after veteran level 99. Drop chance for threads never changes as far as I know. regards, Screwloose. "I am not young enough to know everything."
  24. This? Although it would be rare that I would be buying and selling the same enhancement, but since I usually put in low offers and reasonably high sales prices I am making more on sales than I am paying for what I am trading. And isn't that the essence of marketing?
  25. In general I am pretty happy with the way Dark Armour is. It isn’t a defensive powerset that is going to suit everyone. It is kind of like the Storm Summoning of defensive powersets. Some of it’s powers are indirect, they work in ways that some players aren’t comfortable with and they require enhancing in ways that go against the grain of lots of players. For all it’s basic mitigation powers I think Dark Armour gives as good as return for End as other powersets. Dark Regeneration works well if you emphasise the End reduction, which can make it hard to slot well with IO sets, but that shouldn’t be an issue to balance things on. Oppressive Gloom is one of my favourite powers, even on non scrapper characters when I can get it. But the stun wander makes it unpopular with some players. If I was going to suggest tweaks maybe a slight move speed debuff to reduce the stun wander a bit. Cloak of Fear is a problem child. It does give just about decent returns for the End cost, but the low Base Accuracy and high End cost means that you have to enhance those two attributes heavily before you can think about enhancing the To Hit debuff. That is not comfortable for some players, but the alternative of lower End Cost and lower To Hit Buff would just be a different kind of lack lustre. Also as soon as you get Oppressive Gloom a significant proportion of Cloak of Fear’s mitigation is overwritten, which makes it hard to justify the investment you have to make in it. I haven’t read the other comments, but I am sure someone has mentioned lack of knock back protection. For me this is not a big issue when I am playing a scrapper. I find it more immersion breaking on a Tanker or Brute, but with the mitigation available from IOs and IO sets it is easily dealt with. A further issue with Dark Armour is that Oppressive Gloom and Cloak of Fear give threat mitigation to all the members of the team, not just the scrapper, and they are balanced that way. This means they look a bit costly compared to powers in sets that are just personal threat mitigation and as team mitigation itself is a depreciated factor in the post-Incarnate Post -IO world that increased cost gets you not as much return as it did in a purely SO world. Dark Armour is one of the powersets that does things a bit different to the other powersets in it’s group, and I think that is a good thing and it doesn’t need a lot of changing, if any.
