  1. Sometimes people miss a message or get distracted by more important things or random nonsense that isn't important at all.
  2. I only use One With the Shield when fighting a tough AV myself. Super Speed is my favorite travel power as well, but Super Jump is what I would consider the best, so I think you'll like it. Overall the build is solid and once you move some things around to softcap melee, it'll be great. The only other advice I'd give is decide sooner rather than later if you're definitely going to use catalyst on those ATOs as the extra defense and recharge gained will allow you to do other things with some of your slots. To be clear, you don't need to attune the ATOs, it's just that if you do it could cause you to tweak multiple other slots. So might as well plan for it now if you can to avoid buying stuff you decide not to use on a future version of your build.
  3. For my Shield Scrapper I bind 'R' to build up and Shift+R to Hasten with Active Defenses on auto fire. May not work for everyone, but I like it.
  4. I chose Blaze for Fireball and it's added AoE. Melt Armor is a bonus. Only reason I took Super Jump at all is because I didn't have any other powers I wanted. I'm perfectly happy using Ninja Run and Combat Jumping, but that's just a personal preference. I took Super Jump much earlier than 49 in my leveling build. As far as regen over resistance, in general I find resistance easier to build up compared to regen. I only really make regen a priority if I can get a lot of it. I don't know if that is the right call or not on my part, so somebody better with regen usage would be better giving a more direct answe. You keep your set bonuses for three levels below the level of the specific enhancements that you have slotted. For attuned I believe the sets have to exist at that level in order for them to work. I The only downside to being invisible is you'll need to make sure AAO doesn't cause aggro. So either stay away from enemies or remember to turn it off then back on. If you really want to be invisible, using Celerity +Stealth in Super Speed will do that for you and only use one power. But if you dislike SS, that's a non starter. Couple notes on the build 1. If you're going to spend the influence to get the Scrapper ATOs, I feel it's worth using a catalyst on all of them once you reach 50 for the better set bonuses. The additonal recharge and defense will open up quite a bit for you to move some sets around. 2. You have more ranged defense than you likely need, and definitely not enough melee defense. Getting melee to the softcap will be easy for you. Using Obliteration IOs in Thunderstrike and Guassian's in Build Up will get you there while keeping your recharge the same. It will also give you more Ranged and AoE defense, so you could look at possibly switching out some other sets for more resist and/or regen if you want. Unless you're doing a ton of Incarnate trials I try to keep my softcapped defenses between 45-46%. With SD having good to great defense debuff resistance, any more than that is wasted in my opinion.
  5. I'm not sure if the status protection stacks, but the defense debuff resistance does.
  6. Looking for advice on how to best maximize this combo. I'm currently at 50 with a cobbled together build that gets me perma hasten, but I'm looking to refine and get more defense to go with it. I don't have a lot of conditions, but the Agility Alpha Slot and perma-hasten are two of them. Right now as this proposed build stands I know it has room for improvement, but I think I need fresh eyes on it. I'd rather stay away from purple sets unless it makes a massive difference. 8. You nailed it. I know I'm guilty of underslotting endurance redux overall, but especially as I'm leveling. I do it with Brutes as well, which is why I'm terrible with them. I created an Elec/SD Brute and got it to level 36 or so and I just wasn't enjoying it*. Massive end problems, dying more often than I know I should. I rerolled as a Scrapper and the dying problem disappeared, endurance for that character was still an issue, but it was much more manageable since I wasn't concerned with moving so quickly. *First character I really played since coming back, so rust may have been a factor as well. Also, my general playstyle for every AT, and really almost every game, is total Scrapperlock.
  9. At that level endurance problems are very common because of the lack of slots and strong enhancements. It's been my experience that Brutes have more endurance problems because I'm constantly pushing to maintain the fury bar so I take less time to catch my breath between mobs.
  10. No you weren't. The tone of your post and you literally inviting people to flame you demonstrate that the snippet I'm quoting here is a lie. If you actually wanted to have a mature conversation you would have taken a different approach. Again, that's on you. Based on your few posts in this thread, the problem appears to be that you expect people to cater to your wants, which is obviously not realistic. Additionally, you do not even properly communicate that initially then proceed to blame others(the devs and people responding to you) others for the conflict.
  11. They are! Too bad I didn't find out until after I was already slotted that I can just buy the enhancements from the market already attuned for the same price. Would have saved me a few hundred million.
  12. I'm not sure it does and I've only been here three months, so I don't wanna piss off the boss. Not yet that is.
  13. If we're talking sets, that's a whole new ball game. At this point I like to start frankenslotting cheap attuned IOs whenever I can. Mako's Bite is surprisingly dirt cheap as of a few days ago and Crushing Impact I'd generally cheap too.
  14. ** POOF ** This is a fantastic entrance post, welcome back!
  15. Which is still more valuable than an accuracy in that power because of Rage.
  16. Your ignorance on mechanics is 100% your fault. I have both of those games too! What I do before I invest massive time building characters in those is read and learn and then make decisions. Actually my first attempt at Pillars I didn't do that and my character was terrible. But instead of crying about it I decided to educate myself and I made a better party the next time. Those games hold your hand significantly less than City of Heroes, so good luck buddy.
  17. Only Chain Induction does that. edit: Thunderstrike has something similar, but it not a significant factor in anything in my experience.
  18. If you're willing to team, joining an ITF from time to can be fun a good way to get levels and influence. If you're on a speed run, then your contributions may not be very high, but if I'm leading I don't care as long as we're having a good time. If you're on Torchbearer send me a message, @MunkiLord, and I'll be happy to have you on an ITF with me. They take anywhere from 20-40 minutes generally. But I'm also not opposed to running a slower version of one in which we kill most enemies on the way.
  19. You need three recharge and that will cut it in half which makes it perma. But then dealing with the crash and other issues like the -def can greatly complicate things. So hiding during the debuff can also make recharge a little less important lol. I agree, I just think 3 is the starting place and to adjust from there, at least at level 50. While leveling most of my attacks don't have three damage because of a lack of slots to go around, with only a couple I six slot asap. I hate missing too, but I heavily abuse inspirations to the point there have been a couple times I've created a temporary shortage on the market and prices skyrocketed.
  20. Fair, but with SS Rage being easily permanent to near permanent would equate to +20% to hit buff at most(or all) times. So in this example I'd skip the accuracy and use 3 damage and 2 recharge. 3 damage for attacks should be the baseline and adjusted accordingly based on specific character/build needs. There are just so many scenarios, especially with accuracy and tohit chances that there is usually room for 3 damage. Rain of Arrows, Lightning Rod, Shield Charge being good examples as they have almost the exact same recharge as Aim/Build Up(assuming similar recharge slotting). So I believe it is a safe conclusion that people will use those buffs at the same time as the mentioned powers when they can and that very well may open up a slot for that third damage, or perhaps in another power if it is needed more elsewhere.
  21. I don't have access to Pine's right now, but your example with 2 recharge and 2 damage has the same damage numbers as 3 damage.
  22. Would also like to note that teaming at 50 will very frequently mean buffs and/or debuffs are in play and it is much easier to cap to-hit or add more recovery or recharge than it is to cap damage. Solo players will obviously be dependent on the powerset, but a Broadsword character will benefit less from more accuracy than other powersets. And secondary effects are very, very common.
  23. Missed this initially, but I think seeing it as 50 is the wrong way to look at it. It's 20% more damage, which is significant. Depending on the power a second recharge could indeed have a dramatic impact on damage too, but will a second accuracy increase the powers overall damage by 20%? That is extremely unlikely. Sure if the comparison is 2 lvl 25 IOs vs 3 lvl 50 IOs but if you are looking at 2 lvl 50 IOs that is 83.32% enhancement which gets you 272.2 dmg & extra lvl 50 IO will barely get you more than 20 more points of damage! Which is still about 7.5% increase in damage, which is also not insignificant. There is a reason that slotting three SOs/IOs is very much the norm and common practice. Until someone shows the math that an additional accuracy or a recharge would give a bigger increase to damage, that is not going to change. Also, when comparing these values, subtraction is a poor way to do it. The percentage will give a more useful comparison. There is such a thing as opportunity cost. You mentioned accuracy, a better example could be recharge. A second recharge vs a third damage seems a better option in almost any scenario for dps. Accuracy could be a better option as well as you can get more than a 20% increased chance to hit on reds which is more than 20% damage over time. Even better, if you still have end issues leveling to 50 then cost reduction could be your biggest dps gain, change third damage in all powers to end reduction and suddenly you don't have 5-10 second pauses in long fights. Goals are irrelevant here if they are based in flawed assumptions. Edit: meant to also copy post under yours and address both I don't disagree entirely here, just adding caveat. There are too many variables to have just one answer, but that additional recharge will not matter on lower DPA attacks that aren't used as often. The standard is 3 damage and then some other mix of acc/end redux/recharge. That is generally the best way to slot, but there are countless exceptions to that. 3 damage is the starting place(for DPS focused characters) and people should adjust accordingly to fit their playstyle and character needs. Until there is hard data taking into account various common play scenarios to prove the standard is wrong, people are better off using the common way of doing it and adjusting when they need to.
  24. I don't have Pine's at work, so I can only go by the numbers I see here, but it looks like there could be some endurance issues. Without high recovery and/or extra max endurance, this thing is an endurance hog. What is the recovery and end usage? I completely agree with zarzu as well. If you aren't going for Incarnate softcap, I strongly suggest lowering those defense numbers and getting more recharge, HP, regen, recovery, and max end. When I get home I can take a deeper look at it as some of my conclusions could be off since I don't have full access at the moment.
  25. My first 50 lived in debt from 30 or 31 all the way to 39!
