Define Stuck... Also it would help to know your time zone and which Shard you are on.

I know it can be frustrating but if you are certain of the User / Password make sure you haven't: 1) Turned the Caps lock on. 2) Turned the Number Lock off. It sometimes the simplest things that vex us the most.

Devs, Super Reflexes in need of an update....
Marine X replied to Blackjoy's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Have a SR/Savage Melee Tank currently at level 36, I have nothing negative to report, great set and works well with SM, no endurance issues or performance issues, but I haven't been to the Shadow Shard yet to get my pre-ordained spanking at the hands, Eyes of a watcher, can hardly wait. Only Defeat out of 36 levels was obtaining the " Denial of Service " Badge in First Ward, forgot to properly prepare/buff, my bad, but got the badge anyway. -
Is there such a thing as societal norms in CoH?
Marine X replied to Ukase's topic in General Discussion
I am gun shy these days. I play at odd hours mostly on Reunion so not a lot of teaming opportunities anyway. When I have, it always ends up being someone who wants to run ahead or speed run, completing mission objectives for me. One person asked if I minded if they joined me, I said okay and invited them, then they asked me to invite a friend of theirs, which I did, and that was who went hog wild in my mission. I was at level 39, they were level 50. They never said a word to me the whole time, just took over and ran off, I texted them, no response. Finished the mission and politely excused myself. Last time I teamed. Every time I consider teaming that pops in my head. That toon is now an Incarnate, did 39-50+ all solo as usual, and have another solo toon to 36. It stinks, but solo the only person who can annoy me is me, and I'm pretty thick skinned, but why join a team and take over without talking to the guy with the star. When I played on Virtue I was always a good Team Tank so I really miss teaming, but the group of people from Live and the few I've played with on HC are not very active anymore. PS ( This person seems to share my schedule on Reunion, see them in looking for group constantly, shame they soured me on them, oh well ) -
That was it, don't know why I hadn't noticed it before, just ran through the arcs last month, anyway thanks.

It appears the Mini map and the indicator for my character are off by over 400 yds. In the screenshot I am standing by Marcus Valerius, with the Depths of TIme badge in front of him. I can visually travel fine, and where the map marker shows the badge is correct, but all the contacts are misplaced, and I dropped a thumbtack on the map and it appears 402 yds away. Don't know if it's already been reported but don't recall this the last time I did the zone contacts. Waypoints for missions are correct if you follow them but display on map is also off.

I have to admit that I really only hate Sappers because they deserve it, especially the ones who hover out of sight when you survey a room, one trick ponies, but a hell of a trick. I also do not miss Void Hunters and Cysts showing up when a Kheldian is on the team at all, they were sneaky little pricks, yes they were. Favorites: Freakshow and Primal Clockwork: They are great to fight for someone who primarily plays Melee Characters. Nemesis: Large tight groups of cannon fodder just begging to be put down. Least Favorites: Cabal and Sky Raiders: the whole run at you till you target them, then move out of range so you have to reselect targets is tedious to say the least. Praetorian Clockwork: refuse to enter Melee even when taunted, tiresome and felt like they should have been more challenging, but they weren't.

Add Minimal fx to the Radiation Defense set... please.

Actually have a Rad Armor/Rad Melee Tank I got to 21 on Everlasting and then quit playing because I just didn't like having all the effects around him. Just too busy, made my eyes tired just watching it, and well, it's a lot going on for toggle powers you have to keep running all the time. If it was on an attack I could deal with it probably. -
Something that might be worth looking into would be setting up a VPN. I have seen it solve problems, in the past, for people who have connection issues with Homecoming. Detroit was a black hole for many until they were able to get around it. It may let you improve your connection to the servers by creating an optimum pathway from where you are to the Servers. Not an entry level project unfortunately, but there are a few Free or low Cost VPN products out there if you wish to try. Good Hunting.

I understand some Bartenders prefer being referred to as a Mixologist, but I think this may be a bit much, the formulas for their Signature Cocktails may be a closely guarded Secret, but the place hardly qualifies as a Lab.

The only things I can put out there is it would be interesting to find out what the population would be like if it were available, and that NCSoft tried an Asian Shard and shut it down almost in Beta. Several Hero NPCs were imported from " City of Hero ", ( Korean Version ), including Mirror Spirit and Foreshadow. It never flew do to lack of interest from the Asian Market, I doubt it would fare any better now. City of Heroes Korean Launch Promo I agree with what several others have mentioned, that plopping a server in NCSofts Backyard may bring a very negative reaction, don't wake the sleeping bear.

Never put Fly and Walk next to each other in Tray. Jump off Bridge in Skyway City, click to activate Fly, hit Walk instead, land in Middle of Supa Troll Mob at Rave, d e a d.

I actually have been playing my latest Character with the Camera Lock disengaged, so he can turn freely in the camera view unless I assume control, It is kind of interesting to see some of the attacks from the front and side at times instead of only the over the shoulder view. It also removes the hard background swings as the Camera would normally follow his turns from behind but he now simply turns in frame, I kinda like seeing more different angles of the action.

As I have humbly found out, even seasoned players may miss stuff, I find new things out all the time. Newer players it's probably a lot to take on. Example: " You have no Knockback protection, Did you know that if you slotted a Blessing of the Zephur Knockback Protection in a travel power it would give you 4 Points of protection? " ( I never knew about this till Homecoming as I played Tanks whose primary often provides Knockback Protection, or that you could enter City Hall from the back door, not hard to miss little things here and there ) Maybe you wouldn't even need it to be interactive, maybe just a NPC set up with Dialogue of often missed tweaks to get around common problems, that only speaks when someone is near them.

Character: Sgt Wolffe ( Level 18, SR/Savage Tank, Reunion ) Contact: Warren Trudeau Mission: Arrest all Soldiers in Warehouse, Look for escape plan ( 1 hour timed ) Contact informs you to be sure to prevent Eric Rosen from escaping. Well about halfway thru the Mission Eric Rosen comes trotting into the room I am in, opens an Overhead Door ( ??? ) and then turns and runs for the mission door. I run him down and attack, he responds with some Grenades then turns, runs thru a stack of Cargo Containers and off the exposed map, I ran for the exit, rounded a corner and saw him come out of the wall running. Was able to finally defeat him, but what on Earth was that? The angle that he ran off the map at matches up with where he reappeared, probably the NPC pathway grid under the mission map has some sort of issue. If not, I want his powerset as a pool power, please.

Once you get Monitor Duty Transporter ( to base ) it's easy to make this the solution to a lot of issues. Your Base can have a Vendor, Trainer, Icon Rep, Merit Terminal, Rez Platform, Auto Doc, Inspiration Storage, Salvage and Enhancement storage, Crafting and even a Pillar of Ice and Flame ( for Ouroboros flashback missions ). And if you exit thru the Base Portal it puts you right back where you were when you used MDT. Pretty slick and easy.

Just a note, since @The Philotic Knight added Vidiots Maps as a mod that's install can be handled by COH Modder there has seemed to be a huge decrease in issues installing it. Both are available through the "Tools, Utilities & Downloads" Section of the forums, and the instructions are very easy to follow.

We could spend a lot of time explaining the changes to the Auction System, but to put it in simple terms Homecoming's Dev Team seeds the Market as needed and converts items to generic within the system. This was done initially during the SCoRE years to overcome low server population. If you sell a Rare Salvage item it can be purchased by another player as any piece of salvage of the same Rarity. Enhancements are handled as if all enhancements of a certain variety are in one big bucket, if you sell a Crafted Enhancement, it can then be purchased as that enhancement, or it's Attuned Version, for the same price. If you have not, take a good look at what is available at P2W Vendor in Atlas Plaza, lots of stuff there for the taking, and some for purchase. If you scroll down the enhancement list at any Enhancement Store or Vendor you will discover that Single Origin Enhancements are available now at level 10? When leveling keep in mind Travel Powers are now available at level 4. Lots of changes. If you collect all the badges in a single zone you earn the Accolade for that Zone and the Fast Travel Accolade Power. After that, collecting a single exploration badge in a zone will grant you Fast Travel to that Zone. Good Hunting.

Trying blue but I want to kill Longbow..part 1
Marine X replied to The_Warpact's topic in General Discussion
About that by the way, why are almost half of the NPC mission allies we see in the early part of Blue Side content, Energy Blasters ( or something else ) with unregulated Knockback? It's because the original Devs loved us, and knew what we truly wanted....those guys....man, I'm tearing up. -
On the other side of the Brain fart I mentioned above, about half the time while doing the Faultline missions, " investigate hero bases ", in a Arachnos Disguise, I forget that I need to turn off my Taunt Auras or they will see through my disguise and attack anyway. Only missions with a disguise I recall that leaves your power sets in place, and I still find a way to screw it up, lol. It is actually weird seeing a Crab Spider doing animations for some of the Melee Sets.

Almost always miss that after any of the personal story or disguise missions, that you are left afterward with all toggles off, has been unpleasant on many an occasion.

The Hero/Villain or Praetorian options are actually the first choice you get when creating a character, if you choose City of Heroes Freedom, then you choose sides during the Galaxy City tutorial, if you choose not to run the tutorial it will then let you select Hero or Villain. If you choose Going Rogue you will begin in Praetoria. Your actions and choices in the tutorial decide your path unless as @Hartanna said, you are a Kheldian, which are always started as Heroes or Arachnos Soldier or Widow which begin as Villains.

Real Life leveling, enhancing, and badging
Marine X replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
My Boss constantly volunteers me for Missions that he has no idea how to complete, earning me the " It'll be a piece of Cake" badge, and furthering my progress toward the infamous " Here, Hold my Beer..." badge. I have Mastered all the Debt badges but have no Illusions of ever getting the ones at the opposite end of that particular spectrum. I got another recently, not the " You should see the other Guy " badge rather the " I am the other Guy " badge. I have no idea why, but at level 1 I was awarded the " Darwin Laughs " badge, I have no idea what that was about. Well hopefully the rewards will keep coming now that I've passed Veteran Level 58, but not holding my breath, unless there's a badge for that, I'll have to check. -
