Focused Feedback: Sentinel Archetype Revamp
Tachstar replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Played around a lot today on brainstorm with my testy dp/wp. Bumped levels to 20, 30, 40, and 50, doing some radio missions at each level. SOs all the way. Team size 2. Minimal kitty aggro for a change. Level 20 felt great! 30 not bad, but started seeing heavier end use. 40 started off kinda rough. Colorful metaphors were spoken. Felt like I just wasn't keeping up with the bad guys. After a couple of respecs it got better. At 50 I did another respec or two and it was feeling pretty good by the time I was ready to log off. Didn't get incarnated. I've already duped this one on my home server of Indom, currently at level 7. One more thing -- when the baddies really piled on and things got hectic, I often forgot to use the Vulnerability click. Mostly I would apply it to a select target before leaping into the fray, and then not again unless one of the baddies was being irksome. So, while I don't dislike the click like I thought I would, I do still kinda wish it was more, ya know, automatic. For the people. Or something. Anyway. /e saaaaalute -

Focused Feedback: Sentinel Archetype Revamp
Tachstar replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Played a seismic/stone sentinel up to level 6. Hardcore scientific analysis: it felt really good and I had fun. I'm starting to warm up to the Vulnerability click thing, although after I got Rock Shards I found myself wishing Vulnerability was a cone or aoe or something a little more crowd-oriented to complement it (and Sands of Mu). Anyway, I ran this sentinel through my standard new blueside character 'Outbreak Test': load up with p2w enhancements, powers, etc., set team size to 6 for the Flower Knight mission, and then dumpster dive/corner pull mass quantities of Contaminated until I get Isolator. The Flower Knight mission was going great until the server went down just as the ambush guys, ah, ambushed us. When I got back on and started the mission over, Flower Knight wound up getting clobbered, which technically = fail. Went ahead and finished off the rest of the contaminated guys with no further troubles. Just for the thrill of it I tried the first Prince Kiros mission still at team size 6, which resulted in a quick and hilarious defeat. Of my sentinel, that is. Set team size to 2 for everything after that -- smooth sailing. So... cool! Here's hoping the endurance issues/can't hit a damn thing thing doesn't kick in too hard in the teens. -
I'll do you one better: I don't even need to read the patch notes to know that I don't want any further changes made to what's left of the original game. I didn't want any of the changes that have already been made. All I wanted was something as close as possible to the game I knew and loved all those years ago, before it was so rudely snatched away. That's it and that's all. If the HC devs want to add new stuff like the Sentinel AT and new power sets like Symphony Control? New story arcs? New Task/Strike Forces? Great! Bring it! But all these tweaks and adjustments and 'QOL' changes to the old stuff... I didn't want any of that, didn't ask for any of it, and I'd just as soon see it all revoked. All of it. With every new 'fix', the game gets less and less like the game so many of us were so excited to get to play again, and more and more something that kinda sorta almost looks like it -- if you close one eye and squint. YMMV. TL;DR -- if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Anyway, that's my feedback.

Focused Feedback: Sentinel Archetype Revamp
Tachstar replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I'm no good with the technical stuff so I'll leave all that to the people who understand it -- /e wave at everybody else -- but I do want to say that I don't like the inherent being a Click. At all. I don't even care what it does. I don't want to have to click it for it to do it. It just seems... wrong. Further, it doesn't make me want to roll a new Sentinel, or any more eager play the ones I already have. Another thing that bugged me when I ran a brand new pistols/willpower Sentinel through Outbreak this morning -- the short range. I've never understood the Sentinel's shorter range thing. It's never made sense to me, and seemed especially senseless this morning to think that a Sentinel's pistols couldn't shoot as far as a Blaster's. I know the range thing isn't part of the current beta test, but maybe it should be. I am glad, though, that this AT is getting some attention. Maybe when all is said and done it will finally (wait for it) CLICK with me. -
All my guys are mains, at least until they hit 50 and are semi-retired as new mains arise. I seem to favor tankers, though, as I have more of them at 50 than any other AT. Currently running through my SG's cycle of TFs with a stone/stone Stalker, Spacecat Rocky, first one of those I've got to 50. Probably won't go far into the Incarnate stuff with her, though. My most 'incarnately advanced' character is Polecat Plum Ink Man (see avatar). Electric/Martial/Electric blaster. Living proof that Tub Ci has a sense of humor.

Some form of Esports, maybe? Maybe the residents of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles (or wherever) like to watch their favorite AE heroes/villains streaming/broadcasting missions from AE. Maybe there could even be a sort of 'Paragon City Idol' thing with established heroes judging the hopefuls on their performances (with Positron being the CoX variant of Simon Cowell). See also: "Live from Kings Row, it's AE Farm Night!" and 'Justin Sinclair's AE Special'. -

Remove damage from Impassioned Serenade

I'd like to see a rebuilt Galaxy City, complete with story arcs and maybe a TF or two. See also: more content for the old Dark Astoria, which (IMO) should never have been made an 'Echo'. Keep the new Incarnated version, of course, but let it be accessed via, I dunno, some sort of Incarnate content hub. Or maybe make the Incarnated version accessible once a character slots something in the Alpha slot. 'You have unlocked the all-new, all-different Incarnated Dark Astoria! Woot!' Not opposed to HM stuff. Not opposed to even more HM stuff, for the folks who like that. It's just not my thing. Like pickled pigs feet. Some folks like that, but I don't want any. /e shrug
