I didn't realize Torch was the "first" sever. I only set up here because the Reconnect Forum suggested that most of the folks from my "live" server were coming here.

That's a relief. Loosing "powers" is hard enough. Contemplating 3 different Set builds might have been enough for me to give up too!

So I hit level 7 on my Peacebringer and I see why people give up on the Epic Archetype so easily. Anyway I changed to Nova Form and Human Form Powers grayed out. So obviously you can't use Human Powers in Nova Form and Vice Versa. However does this carry over to sets? If for example I slot set defense bonuses on my Human Form do I still retain those bonuses in Nova Form?

I have multiple alts so the most I can commit to is cap strike force. Also I only play villain side. I'm game if others want to do it weekly otherwise I'll check in next summer when I should/maybe have a level 50...

I've recently made a martial/rad and enjoyed busting out of the Zig. Or how I learned to stop worrying and try every powerset. It will take a while, but that is not a problem I enjoy COV 🙂 Everyone has a different definition of "fun" Guides help but theory and practice are two different things. After I find the primary that fits my play style then I have to match it with the perfect 2nd!

You may be happy the NC shut the game down. You don't have to like COH but this isn't Champions Online.

In the beginning... My alts have to walk around like normal mortals through the streets and around buildings. As they progress they get their travel power... But like I said this game isn't for everyone and that's fine.

No one has said it but if you don't like "normal content" then you don't like the game. That's fine, it's a old game and not for everyone. It was the same way back on Live. People want to press a button and have a level 50 pop out. Then a few weeks later complain about wanting more end game content. Now I understand why people are asking for more end game content. You're skipping the whole game!

My level 12 energy/nijitsu is almost as fun to play as my 15 dark/bio. I intentionally ran my elec/dark to 32 because out of the original 3 stalkers, I enjoyed it the least. (I don't retire alts until 32) After that instead of focusing on sets I thought I would like, I focused on sets that I probably WOULDN'T like. Since my play style is spike (assassin) instead of steady (scrap) My thought process has been: 1. set damage: Nope to little 2. set defense: Nope spike combat 3. set recharge: Nope spike combat 4. set end: Run more toggles i.e. Leadership etc. The funny thing is I made a staff/reg today and looking at my starter power choices immediately thought scrapper and that I wouldn't like it. However breaking out of the Zig with those combos proved to be enjoyable! That's why you can't just go on Theory you need Practice.

Ha Ha Forget about Hero's and Villains: Make a alt on Praetorian then tell me what you are cut out for...

Sorry for crashing the thread but there aren't many Praetorian resources. Originally I was able to get a level 20 regular alt into Nadia's arc but a level 8 alt couldn't get Mr G to talk to him so I made a new alt and here we are...

I recall back on live Assassin Strike getting out-leveled because bosses would have AOE's. So the Level 32 power will be key. My Goal isn't to make a scrapper but a Assassin. So far I have a level 32 elec/dark. I didn't find it fun to level and I thought the Level 32 thunder took me out of hide but your guide says differently so I'll look at it again. Since fun is subjective and I enjoy the journey I've started gun-decking and have the following under 20: dark/bio energy/nijitsu rad/fire broad/electric claw/super dual/energy street/ice So far dark and broad standout but they haven't reached 32 yet. Also no clear 2nd although it looks when all is said and done that it will probably be bio. The other option would be to make everything on the test server but again I enjoy the journey.

Is there some way for me to pick up Resistance Missions without changing alignment? Or If I change alignment during the tutorial and kill the cops then I get to choose both Loyal and Resistance Missions?

I'm confused about the undercover option. I did the tutorial as loyalest throughout the game the option would pop up to call someone if I was Resistance but I never was. So if you stay on one side you can't go undercover but the game keeps asking you to call a non-existent contact?

I noticed end being a issue so started looking at sets, then thought maybe the Stalker community had already crunched the numbers. From what I've read most Stalkers slot for defense. Back on live I leveled a Stalker to 50 but never got that excited by it. Now giving it another shot slowly leveling multiple Stalkers trying to find a niche. While you are still new. Play the game and have fun. Slot the training then dual and SO's. Once you understand the game then move in the direction your desire. Like other's have said, it gets complicated later, but it doesn't have too. The important thing is to have fun. Later you will know which path you want to take. The great thing about this game is no power choice is wrong no slotting is wrong. Well after you have played the game you'll know what you want to respec to and how you want to slot your stuff.

Vet from Live and all my alts are Villains. They all run the Zig starter mission. Like I said I like the story line. Actions having consequences sounds good. But hearing the challenging ambushes gives me pause on which alt to create. Mayhem Missions are a pain when the game "cheats" and Longbow sees through Stalker's Hide. I'm use to it and ready during the Mayhem Mission but it might become a pain if my calculating Stalker is constantly forced to scrap. So I might make a mm or dom instead. That way I can actually enjoy the content. Now that I think about it. My favorite part of the game is when the plan starts to fall apart and people drop the team worrying about xp debt. Then you have to REALLY think about how to solve the problem and is it possible by yourself or with what is left of the team. 9/10 it is!

Yes. I used the Tunnel for both alts. The level 22 alt went to First Ward and after much pause, move, /loc found a contact. The level 8 alt went to Underground/Imperial City and tried to repeat the slow pause,move, /loc but the contacts weren't helpful. Sounds like the only way to play/understand the story line would be to start a new arc over there. I've only skimmed the wiki and all I know is that instead of Villain/Hero it's Loyal/Rebel and then around Level 25 they end up in our world. I think Hami destroyed their world or something which is why I wanted to try the stoyline. But at the same time I like the City of Storyline too and this would be the first time a alt didn't originate from there...

None of my alts have played the alt-world. How do I start a story arc there? One of my level 22 alts was able to start a ARC in First Ward with Nadia /loc. But a level 8 alt is getting nothing from the Underground/Imperal City contacts. Also it's a pain looking up the xyz on wiki then /loc on map. Is there another way? Thanks

Arbitrage works. Most of my alts are under 20. I'm a vet from live so I prefer to enjoy the journey to 50. Before Arbitrage, my first big purchase was 50 merits for a LOG recipe. Since it would take a while to get all the salvage, I looked up Arbitrage to see if it would help pass the time. After reading this and a few other posts, I found out my approach was completely WRONG. My richest alt had 12 million inf. Took some of the advice given here and from other posts and got 4 of my regular IO's into the Attuned version. Today sold my LOG recipe for 10 million and got a Attuned LOG for 6 million. Now I have two millionaire alts one at 18 million the other at 12 million. Oh and the Fiery Orb for my Dom too. All without radically changing my play style or living in the AH window. Arbitrage works.

You're right. NC Soft just up and shutting down the servers is the worst!
