Hey, So I've just restarted one of my 3 main Dominators from back in the day, my Mind/Psi hero. I blew the dust off her old build and loaded it into Pine. Now, I know (or am under the impression) the PPM change was intended to smooth out a lot of questions like, "Should Proc piece [X] go in Power [Y] or Power [Z]?" That said, I had a decent number of sets on her that had procs, and I'm not sure if they're more or less useful than they used to be. Force Feedback's +Rchg, in Levitate (I had this one in the build, or at least planned on it, I may not have gotten to building it yet) Glimpse of the Abyss' Dmg proc Malaise's Illusions Dmg proc (I think I skipped on both of these, 1: because I could replace them with a straight Rchg IO for more effect, 2: because they wouldn't have gone off often enough to be useful) Are either of these two pieces worth reconsidering? I don't even know if it needs a Frankenslotting. Posi 5, and a Recharge IO is how I roll for that.

I don't recall them being a per-mez thing, but whatever the pre-Break-Frees were, you couldn't activate them while you were mezzed, you had to use them in advance.

You should probably get that cauterized or something.

I've come partway around on them, after being a little dismissive of them at first. I have an Elec/Elec Sentinel I've been playing a lot recently, but I'm not going to forsake my Blaster over the Sentinel. They're different animals.

These days I hear a lot of people talk about the Panacea special piece, which looks to functionally be about the equivalent of the Numina's special piece. Are there any real advantages of one over the other?

Well yeah, you're debuffing their ToHit and Defense; no one is gonna take kindly to that part. :)

That's definitely something to consider going forward, but isn't the setup I've got right now. We go to Paragon City with the PCs we have, not the ones we want. :)

Hey, So I've got a son who knows that I got back into the superhero game I used to play when he was teeny-tiny. He's nine now. As a family we're not really into video games, the kids don't have a console, and really COH is the only thing I play myself. We moved last week, and he helped me hook up my desktop PC and the router. As a thank-you gesture to The Boy, I launched COH, showed him how to move around, and let him take my Rad/Rad Brute and stomp a few Skulls in Kings Row (said Brute is like level 34, so this was a pretty lopsided fight). Last night at the dinner table, he asked me if he could "Play more Paragon City." I was like, "Uh yeah, sure, if Mom agrees it's okay." He didn't follow up on that after dinner, but I'm not going to ignore this. I was thinking I'd let him make his own character (on my account) he can have for himself. So, open question to any parents with kids in that age range. You think there's any reason I shouldn't let him play? Anything you do to "secure" things for them? (I was thinking maybe always leave his char hidden, and/or make his LFG message read something like, "Hi, I'm 9, and my dad is sitting with me as I play.") Any other general advice? I don't think I had a "favorite AT" back in the day. As measured in "ATs I had the most of at 50," I guess it would be Brutes and Doms. I've made a few Brutes, but I've barely touched Dominators yet. Then as now, I had what I call "alt-crushes", just my term for whoever I was most jazzed to play, and it flipped around a lot. Still does. My current one is for my Elec^2 Sentinel, but I bet that'll change if you ask me again in a week.

@Titomancer: back in the day, there was only one of my characters for whom my costume set was literally a full biographical progression: my Elec^2 Brute, OhmWrecker. He went from "Just a guy working on the PTS" to "Fledgling villain" to "Professional a**-kicker" to "Heir of eldritch Mu power." Which, okay, that last was just the previous stage with a Mu helmet on, by the end I was running out of steam. :) Very proud of him. Good food for thought here. I'll start experimenting with stuff tonight as opportunity permits.

I'm imagining some Voltaic Tank kind of watching this thinking, "Okay guys, we've got like, three and a half minutes to get as FAR from here as possible..." Re: that Temporary Powers channel, TBH I haven't really done much with global chat channels yet in our second life here. Is it acceptable practices to solicit LFM requests in there?
