Hmm, well Invuln, assuming 3 SOs worth of slotting to Unyielding and the passives, provides what, about 32% to F/C/E/N, or 80% of what you're considering to be the minimally sufficient value. Can't be that hard to close the door the rest of the way, can it? (Of course, assuming opportunity costs don't rise too steeply, but that's the real question, I guess.)

Are you aware of the /altinvite [name] command? You no longer need a second account to get your characters into a SG.
-
In a display of neglect that's damn near criminal, I haven't yet set up a bind file that has all the things I set for every character. So far it's been done manually on everyone. Don't judge me!

I'll be honest, I wouldn't feel comfortable skipping out on ResEl on my Tanker. As you point out, rare will be the Fire Damage attack that seals the deal, but I'd feel like I had left the figurative door open, letting the Fire damage undercut me enough that the other stuff could finish me off. I'll admit, this could easily just be me being paranoid, and playing into other habits of mine (I have a strong tendency, for instance, to overvalue my Primary & Secondary sets). But it's where I'm coming from, for better or worse. Either way, thanks for making me think about it. Generator

Hmm, those are some compelling caveats. I can't decide if the "doppleganger" issue is prevalent enough to worry about. I know there's the Dean MacArthur arc in the 20s where you face off against your double at least one time, and one of the high-end Villain Alignment missions faces you off against your double from the future. Fun fact about point 2: the Behemoth demons are vulnerable to Cold. Do unto others first. :) Interesting food for thhought, thanks!

I've got "only" 12-15 characters, but no one is capped yet (I've got three heroes into their 30s, and two villains into the high 20s, one of which I think is about to really take off). I keep on getting the urge to recreate guys from "back in the day," even when it means making a slightly different build (like when I rerolled my old Kin/Elec Defender as an Elec/Kin Controller). I don't see the problem abating any time soon, as I keep on saying to myself, "Hey, remember [some other random character I haven't yet created]? You should totally remake him!" And then I do, and get him up to like 20, and find that those high 20s & 30s guys are standing there, impatiently tapping their feet... And yes, as I type this, I'm looking down at my desk at work and seeing the chicken-scratched version of the new Stalker I want to get rolling tonight. <sigh>

Heraclea, what set is that you're using in Tesla Cage? I don't recognize the abbreviation.
-
Hey, about that... What do other folks use when they 5-slot PB? In the past I've found myself skipping either the Dmg/Range, or the Proc piece. Usually I'll then use a common Rchg IO for slot #6.
-
Something I've been mulling over... If you've only got one pice of a given set in a power, there's no point to using an Attuned version, right? ike sometimes I'll use a Mako's Bite A/D/E/R to help Frankenslot out a power. If I'm not using any other pieces of Mako's Bite there's not a point to Attuning it, right?

Hey, So for my first Stalker build (on Homecoming, that is) I've finally settled on making an Ice/Ice. I'll probably start out by making an "SO-level" build in Mids tonight, anyone got any advice particular to the sets, and how they play as Stalkers? (I've played both before, but on Tankers) Later, Generator

Hmm, that works when I do it directly into the chat bar, but not when the character is part of a text string that I've stored in a mnu file. Anyone got any ideas?
-
In-game chat, is there a way to use the trademark symbol? If anyone knows, I really appreciate some help. Thanks!

There are at least two or three IOs that grant KB protection, accessible to Resist Powers or Travel powers. It's "only" 4 points, but for most practical purposes, that is more than enough.

Hey folks, So I've finally started devoting more attention to my Inv/SS tanker, and he's starting to round into his 30s. I don't really have a "modern" fully IO'ed build for him. What I've got is my old build from live, which doesn't quite softcap, but comes close enough to use it as a baseline for my efforts. I'm hoping some folks are willing to help me evaluate some of the other IOs that are out there these days and see if they might be of use. PVP IOs: these were there in the old days, but priced far beyond my reach. Now, reachable. I'm thinking the Gladiator's Armor +3% is as no-brainer as the one from Steadfast is. In Health, I've already got the Numina's special, I should add in the one from Panacea, right? Reactive Defenses: this set has the special piece that grants scaling +Res based on falling HP, like Super Reflexes characters get. Is it worth throwing this into Tough Hide? New Sets (and Set Bonuses) In General: anyone got anything to chime in here with? is it worth grabbing up status protection, to cover the occasional Confure/Terrorize/etc? Any constructive feedback anyone has, I'm all ears! Later on, Generator

I have my Mids for my old Elec^3 that I'd be happy to share. It's not really optimized for anything specific, which I will freely admit was a shortcoming, I just grabbed stuff that looked best-available for the number of slots any given power had. I'll try and remember to post it tonight. EDIT: here it is! The build below is out of 2012-era Mids, not Pine, in case that becomes a compatibility issue. Is there any way this guy could have gotten the Superior set, and thus been unable to slot them until 50? That's all I've got for right now.

I believe Your Alpha Slot can modify its damage, but not much past that will.

What is it about the Support Hybrid that makes it go-to for this? (I never quite wrapped my head around the Hybrid slot before shutdown.)

Any way of changing Electricity Manip's Sustain?
Generator replied to Generator's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Much as I'd love option 1, I have a serious reservation in that, as I said, level 4 seems far too early to add a Sustain power into a set. I don't know if it's a big deal to reorder a power set, but my suspicion is that yes, it is. Hence my other idea, to make Force of Thunder into something easier to use. -
I keep Sprint, [Travel Pool Entry], and [Travel Power] all handy at shift+r, shift+t, and shift+f, respectively. (In this context , "Travel Pool Entry" would be Hover or CJ, and Travel Power would be any non-TP travel power.) r is target_enemy_near, and autorun is now ctrl+r The UI toggling (and help popup) associated with the c, n, t, and h keys are all ditched immediately, as is the tray popup associated with the ralt key.

Hey, So I love my Elec/Elec Blaster, always have, from day one in April '04 all the way to the end, and now here. But I have to say, I feel like Electricity Manipulation got one of the worse Sustain powers. Every minute I have to remember to clap my hands (and look like a doofus doing so), and if I happen to have foes in the vicinity, they go flying. It just feels so damn clumsy. I've been picking my brain to try and figure out a way to change it. Some thoughts I've come up with so far: 1) Ditch Force of Thunder as the Sustain power. Move Elec's Sustain functionality to Lightning Field, make it work something like Electric Control's Conductive Aura (+Regen and Recov to you, -End to foes). The possible downside is that Elec gets its Sustain much earlier than anyone else (Lightning Field comes up at 4, and the Sustain powers tend to center in the 16 or 20 spot in most other sets). Is it possible to reorder a set? Even if it is, is that a good idea? 2) Change how Force of Thunder works. Maybe FoT could change from a click to a toggle, and in addition to its +Regen/Recov, every so often applying a Stun attack to foes in range (here I've got in mind something almost like Dark Armor's Oppressive Gloom). That's all I've got for now. I'm trying to come up with ideas that 1) are feasible, 2) I like, 3) are minimally disruptive. If anyone's got any ideas to throw at this, I'd love to hear them. Thanks! Hey, Back in the day, I had an Elec/Ninjitsu Stalker I liked well enough. Didn't get him to 50 (mid/high 30s), but hey that didn't mean I didn't like him. At the time, I think I saw fit to skip on Caltrops, and at least one or the other of Smoke Bomb and Blinding Powder; it's possible I passed on all three of those. Anyone out there got a mind to make me reconsider those choices? Are those three all as skippable as I thought eight years ago? Thanks! Generator

You said Marcus Cole and all I could think of was the character on Babylon 5. I was sure that you meant a different Marcus Cole so I had to look it up. :) Marcus Cole, not /jranger, but a true Ranger...I loved that show...Some of the best storytelling on TV ever, and truly transformed the whole notion of serialized TV beyond Soap Operas... Heh, I remember 20 years ago, trying to tell people that a TV show's plot might carry over from one episode from the next, I'd get responses like, "Like a soap opera." Fine, yes, like a soap opera. Best Marcus moment in the whole series is the time he's getting curb-stomped by Neroon, trying to stop Neroon from crashing Delenn's ceremony to assume leadership of the Rangers. Just fantastic stuff, and it has the indignity of being buried as the B-story of the most forgettable episode of the series, Gray 17 Is Missing.

Hello, So I want to get a Stalker up and running, and one of the I'm considering a Ninja Blade primary for this. Two questions: 1) this really is just Katana with slight modifications for use as a Stalker, right? Nothing egregiously different between the two? 2) Any glaring issues with Ninja Blade I ought to be aware of? I never got around to Katana/NB back in the day so I'm hoping to fix that here. I haven't figured which secondary I'll use but I'll come up with something, I'm sure. :) Thanks! Generator

Here's an attempt to build mine out to 50. For simplicity's sake this is just using SO/IOs, not sets (that'll come later). I decided to take out Electron Haze, figuring Neutron Bomb and Irradiate was enough AOE, and put in the snipe in its place. Any constructive criticism anyone's got, I'm all ears!
