  1. You said Marcus Cole and all I could think of was the character on Babylon 5. I was sure that you meant a different Marcus Cole so I had to look it up. :) Marcus Cole, not /jranger, but a true Ranger...I loved that show...Some of the best storytelling on TV ever, and truly transformed the whole notion of serialized TV beyond Soap Operas... Heh, I remember 20 years ago, trying to tell people that a TV show's plot might carry over from one episode from the next, I'd get responses like, "Like a soap opera." Fine, yes, like a soap opera. Best Marcus moment in the whole series is the time he's getting curb-stomped by Neroon, trying to stop Neroon from crashing Delenn's ceremony to assume leadership of the Rangers. Just fantastic stuff, and it has the indignity of being buried as the B-story of the most forgettable episode of the series, Gray 17 Is Missing.
  2. Hello, So I want to get a Stalker up and running, and one of the I'm considering a Ninja Blade primary for this. Two questions: 1) this really is just Katana with slight modifications for use as a Stalker, right? Nothing egregiously different between the two? 2) Any glaring issues with Ninja Blade I ought to be aware of? I never got around to Katana/NB back in the day so I'm hoping to fix that here. I haven't figured which secondary I'll use but I'll come up with something, I'm sure. :) Thanks! Generator
  3. Here's an attempt to build mine out to 50. For simplicity's sake this is just using SO/IOs, not sets (that'll come later). I decided to take out Electron Haze, figuring Neutron Bomb and Irradiate was enough AOE, and put in the snipe in its place. Any constructive criticism anyone's got, I'm all ears! Thanks for your time. Later on, Generator Villain Plan by Mids' Villain Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 4. So it's not so much "fix it" as "make it the way I want it?"
  5. Back in the day, I never bothered with Reactive. Even if it IS the best (which, to be very clear, isn't the point I'm trying to make here, so let's not beat that horse on my account), the stacking limits meant that on any given team, there were probably enough folks using Reactive to hit its stacking cap, so I always felt free to use other Interface abilities.

    Rad/Rad Brute

This. Until I took Irradiated Ground into my build, the heal was... vexing. Overall the set's fine, IMO.
  7. Well, there's a happy middle ground, where the Blaster limits the collateral damage of the KB, and the Tank grows a slightly thicker skin about the issue (I play both sides of that coin, depending on the night). So far yes, Rad/Atomic is pretty great. Mine's up to 25, and I just need to get a bit of a plan as to what I'm doing so I don't hobble myself.
  8. That's interesting, Ice_Warden. I've actually been thinking of ditching Electron Haze from my build because of precisely that. I'll still have Neutron Bomb and Irradiate, and this way I won't have one AOE knocking stuff out of the way of everything else I'm trying to do. (Sudden Acceleration KB > KD piece notwithstanding.)
  9. I would also be interested in hearing about this, if you're so inclined. Thanks. Generator
  10. Everyone I've created so far has been a reroll of an old character concept. However, some were rerolls to different ATs/powersets (for instance, my Kin/Elec Defender has become an Elec/Kin Controller, stuff like that).
  11. My friends and I are going with Plan "B", focusing on our villains for June. :)
  12. That's the stuff, thanks!
  13. Hey, I'd check in-game or Pine but I'm on my phone slacking off at work. :) I'm trying to remember, what are the tier 7/8/9 powers of Atomic Manipulation? Tier 7 is Atom Smasher, right? I have a Rad Brute, so I know the basics here, PBAOE damage, chance of stun, all that jazz (Atom Smasher doesn't play the positive/Negative charge game, right?). IIRC, Tier 8 is the Choking Cloud knockoff, which I think was changed to a clickie? If I took that I was gonna go 2*Rchg/2*Hold and call it done. Tier 9 is what, another melee attack I think, that unlike Atom Smasher, is part of the whole negative/positive thing. What's the word on that, is it a decent attack? If anyone can just confirm or correct my ramblings, that would be a big help. Thanks! Generator.
  14. I'd move the Sustain power (Cauterizing Aura, I think) to its earliest possible spot. Those make such a huge difference.

    Ice/Ice?

I missed this when I first read this thread last week, and I'm away from my game PC as I write this. What do Scrappers get for their Ice Armor T9?
  16. This guy gets it. :D One of my SG mates uses an En/En as his main, and he is a freaking surgeon with KB exactly along the lines you mention. Cept when he makes a mess with Nova, but hey, it's Nova. That reminds me!!! Does anyone else remember the "Nova Trip" video Impadivus made back in the day? Damn it's so good to have this stuff back again!
  17. I'm finding that Rares just cost too damn much. I'd rather spend the time to farm tickets to get the salvage I want than the EC to get a (for instance) Deific Weapon. EDIT: I know the OP was talking aobut common IOs, which are common salvage only, but I was speaking more generally.
  18. This thread has a tragic shortage of Judas Priest.
  19. Ooooh, that would be a great idea. Yes, please and thanks!
  20. I dig the food for thought. Thanks for sharing. My own guy (an Elec/Elec) is coming back into what he was back in the day, but not there yet (just hit 39, got a ways to go). I don't know if I could talk myself into bailing on the T1 blast. Given its ability to fire through mez, I value my "Defiance-bait" too much. :) Have a good one!
  21. Electric Control as a whole set was a ways off, but that animation belongs to Tesla Cage, and goes all the way back to day one. /aside
  22. That sums it up pretty well. Seeing bids would just ruin a good structure. QFT. Clunky interface aside, the double blind system works.
  23. "No, she said she'd meet me on the corner. Brown hair, wings. I won't lie to you, I hate these freaking helmets."
  24. Most of my characters are rerolls of old characters fro back in the day (sometimes with different powersets, but the core concept of the charcter remains). This means I have the bios somewhere, in my old Sentinel XML exports, and I just have to find them and copy-pasta them into the bio box. Work in progress... :) Some of my pun names I'm particularly proud of: Ohmwrecker (Elec/Elec Brute) Cinderlock (Fire/Fire Dom) Shatterbrain (Mind/Psi Dom) Project 212 (Rad/Atomic Blaster) Later on!
  25. Hey, So as my subject line says, I'm pretty sure the first serious effort I put into a Sentinel will be Beam Rifle/Energy Aura. (This is a reroll of a Beam/EM Blaster I had back in the day on Pinnacle, not that you care.) Any glaringly obvious tips/advice? First order of business will be to get a build together, one that just functions on an SO/common IO level. If anyone has any thoughts on that I'm all ears, otherwise I'll start noodling in Pine tonight. Have a great day! Generator
