Seasonal Events - Stay at Home Orders

Not only is this suggestion easy to say, it's easy for me to quote and say that I am a +1 on this. Of course, that still doesn't make it easy to implement. But still +1 -
Electrical Affinity "seizure" animations on allies
justicebeliever replied to Keen's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I didn't infer from your saying "I think it's fine" that you were an enthusiastic supporter of the current animation. I stand corrected, though most of discussion wasn't about defending the current animation, but pushing back on change to animations period. Your reasoning here is a slippery slope argument. If we make one change for one person, then we'll have to make every change for every person. But it's a fallacy for several reasons. Chief among them are 1.) not every person is requesting change. There have been a few powerset animations that have upset people, but the majority are silent, and the minority only complain about a few small issues. 2.) The Dev's always retain the option to say "no" later on. It's not a rule that if they make a change here that they are socially, legally or professionally obligated to do so next time. So let's worry about the request on the table, and not the phantom requests that may or likely won't come. Me personally, I dislike the animation. Several others have said so. It comes down to a judgment call on the Dev's how to handle it, since there is no clear majority here one way or the other. -
Electrical Affinity "seizure" animations on allies
justicebeliever replied to Keen's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
But it's no longer a particular individual suggestion. I've seen several voice their opinion on this (myself included). What I haven't heard is anybody who is really married to the current animation, just objections to change and suggestions that its some kind of slippery slope. That being said, who would be really upset if an option to change the animation locally was built in? -

@Major_Decoycan you elaborate on your chart here? What does it show? -
Not actually an insane request! Honestly.

But you can go to Paragon City. And you already have the midnighter badge, which makes Cimerora a snap to get to. Why spend time coding something you can already do? -
[Beta] Patch Notes for April 4th, 2020

I'd love for you to expand on the 2nd bullet. I agree 100% on the 1st and 3rd bullet. -
Electrical Affinity "seizure" animations on allies

Several other examples have been given like this, but they aren't driving discussion. Clearly somethings trigger some people, and somethings don't trigger anyone (at least anyone willing to complain about it). That's why we shouldn't dismiss this request just because of some "slippery slope" argument (you aren't making that argument). -
[Beta] Patch Notes for April 5th, 2020
justicebeliever replied to Faultline's topic in [Open Beta] Patch Notes
I'm resigned to the fact that origins will never matter. Given that, I'd agree that having enhancement origins seems like a relic of a dream never realized. As long as IO's are in the game, I would want AO's to have a fixed value like SO's today, but the origins should stop mattering at this point, regardless of viewpoint. -
Discussion: Disabling XP No Longer Increases Influence
justicebeliever replied to Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
This only represents the demand side. What about Bob's evil brother, Counter-Bob. Counter Bob sees that the going price of the armageddon proc is 75 million. He knows there are 4 more on the market, and Counter-Bob makes 20 more crafting and converting. He could sell them for 75 million, or, as he is more likely to do, since he wants to make some quick money, he sells them for 65 million, and all the people who bid below 75 million know have the armageddon proc. That's the supply side. And so on, back and forth, until the market stabilizes at a price where supply and demand are both satisfied. Take away some of that supply and prices will ONLY increase. -

That's an oversimplification of how marketing works. They don't buy rare IO's low and sell them high. Despite appearances to the contrary in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, they don't just "fall outta a truck". Marketeers buy Converters, from any source, and salvage that is cheap, and then spend time (time is a cost) to create rare IO's where there were none before. That means they increase supply, which oddly enough lowers prices on rare IO's. And despite the demand for common and uncommon salvage for marketeers, the costs remain stable because those markets are seeded in game. Removing marketeers just means increased IO costs, and a loss of influence for people who don't use converters. -

But if converters were locked to the character, and thus harder to obtain, you'd produce far fewer rare IO's. More money on each maybe, but less money overall I would think. -

You are correct that IO's will still appear in the auction house, but the scale of those IO's would significantly diminish. That would mean reduced supply for rare IO's and thus increased costs for those IO's. I'm not sure the plus side of this suggestion of yours? -

By what evidence do make a claim that inflation can't be curbed or restrained. I'm not an economist, but certainly there a massive tomes devoted to the ideas and methodology of curbing inflation. Your own example of prices not rising on certain salvage is evidence this is true (prices have not inflated, and are thus restrained). I'm not sure I'm understanding what you are saying. -
Twinshot gets a bad rap - She must have good taste in character, if she picked me, out of all the heroes, to be in the Shining Stars. Proton seems super trust-worthy, and Flambeaux is just a sweetheart, such a selfless hero. It's that Grym you got to watch out for. He just shows up all the sudden, uninvited, and we are just supposed to trust him? Arachnos showed up uninvited and we don't trust those guys. But why Arachnos? And why attack the Shining Stars? Were they just afraid to take on any of the A, B, or even C list super groups and decided the Shining Stars, while not as glamorous as knocking over a bank or a garbage truck, would be at least better than grabbing purses from civilians in Atlas Park?

I wasn't going to post here, because it's always the same discussion. But this was a great summary of the Pro's/Con's and facts of life of KB -
It's a Argo City, home of Supergirl. The city was capped (or domed, if you prefer) to protect the atmosphere from the hard vacuum of space. But if we do away with it, won't all those people suffocate?

Not as authoritative as it used to be, but I don't recall any changes to this since HC went live, and I've been here since June last year... https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Contaminated - Only Isolator is listed. I go for it everytime...

In Outbreak tutorial there is just Isolator...I suppose you could get some of the damage given and damage taken badges, but that would be mentally...damaging.
