  1. What if the stats that are in the amplifiers were all or mostly added to the Beginner's Luck buff? So everyone basically has the Amplifiers on at level 1 and then they gradually fade away until they're completely gone about 20 or so.
  2. ok, and therefore you should Also be able to have amplifiers at little cost? Like I said, a ridiculous argument.
  3. The amplifiers are not small relative to set bonuses. They are as powerful as the some of the best set bonuses. Adding them to an already powerful build unquestionably makes it even more powerful.
  4. This is a ridiculous argument. You can't hold 120 inspirations, and if you tell me you can in your email then I'm going to tell you that's an exploit that should probably be fixed. I'm all for it.
  5. gotcha, thank you for the clarification/correction I’m not sure if the intention is to make them More of an inf sink or simply to discourage their use. If people keep using them then it will have increased their use as an inf sink. If people stop using them then people stop using them. So maybe it’s a dual purpose change?
  6. Well that's a heckuva lot bigger than a line, so either it changed since I tested it or I misjudged. No one's going to confuse that with Shadow Maul.
  7. To be clear, they will explicitly be more worthwhile now at 50, because they'll be cheaper. I think people are more likely (not myself, but someone) to spend 60 mil on their 50 than 120 mil or whatever the cost is now.
  8. well, nominally more attractive.
  9. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I think it's a very good change. This change discourages you from automatically giving every new toon you make 8 hours of all 3 amps, while simultaneously making amps more attractive as an inf sink at max level. Two thumbs up!
  10. This is an argument in favor of power creep. "Balance doesn't matter" in slightly different words. No.
  11. except that isn’t why they exist at all. they were added to be a Real Money expenditure. You’re trying to rewrite history to suit your opinion of how the game should be.
  12. you can lower difficulty to -1. I see no reason for the amplifiers to exist at all, but since they do, I see no problem making them an expensive option for leveling alts, sort of like heirloom weapons in other games. A new player should build up to power instead of having it handed to them just like in every other game ever.
  13. None of these things are necessary. SOs are easily attainable for the new player and that makes the low levels plenty easy. If a new player is having so much trouble that they need amplifiers then you would be helping them more by giving them advice on how to play than by giving them inf.
  14. If one thinks of this as a compromise position between leaving things as they are and eliminating amplifiers from the game entirely then it seems pretty reasonable. In fact, if we compare to the OTHER source of Amplifiers, Super Packs, the price seems pretty close to right on, if perhaps just a Little bit high.
  15. Through the Quantum Realm.
  16. It seems to me the change carries with it a clear implication that the current prices at the lowest levels are being considered unreasonably LOW.
  17. Then go try it yourself before having this discussion maybe?
  18. I don't know how to respond to this without sounding like I'm saying learn to play. Lining up cones is not difficult. Golden Dragonfly hits 3 to 5 all the time. Hitting that many with Fault is considerably easier than that.
  19. If you think of it as a Line attack then yes it is dependable. If you try to use it like a cone on guys spread in front of you then no.
  20. You don't have to jump back. I took a Stone/Stone into a 4/8 mission and Fault was definitely making a big difference. It's not Foot Stomp, no, but it doesn't have to be.
  21. Fundamentally I am ok with the change because with SOs at level 2 and the ease of using Merits to get inf the "low level woes" aren't really a thing anymore. The amplifiers exacerbate the balance problems the game has already. The suggested price reduction is based on the idea that if someone does still want to do this, at a cost of 2.5 million it comes to 60 million for 8 hours of all three amps. To me that feels like a little beyond what is reasonable, compared to other P2W items. 2 million would come to 48 million for 8 hours of all 3. 1.5 comes to 36 total. Those numbers seem more reasonable to me. I think somewhere between 1 million and 2 million is fine. 2.5 seems a little high.
  22. Yeah, after sleeping on it I changed my mind. I do think the cost is still a little bit high, maybe 1.5 or 2 would be enough?
  23. It’s Ranged. Comparison to Shadow Maul is hardly appropriate.
  24. The more I think about it, the more I am pretty OK with the Amplifiers change. The only suggestion I have is maybe it would be ok at 1.5 or 2 million instead of 2.5.
