So maybe reduce Armor mez protection from 10 down to like 5, add mez protection of about 2 or 3 to most squishies, make all player toggles suppress, and then pray that you haven't completely broken some aspect of the game with all that?
WS also has Inky Aspect.
That said, Kheldians can both Cap damage res with click powers, so making their damage res toggles suppress isn’t really necessary, not to mention they would still have to pay the end cost on the suppressed toggles.
You're confusing the issue with your non-argument.
New characters do not have the inspiration slots of a 50. Amplifiers are absolutely more impactful to a new character than inspirations, dollar for dollar.
What if the stats that are in the amplifiers were all or mostly added to the Beginner's Luck buff?
So everyone basically has the Amplifiers on at level 1 and then they gradually fade away until they're completely gone about 20 or so.
The amplifiers are not small relative to set bonuses. They are as powerful as the some of the best set bonuses. Adding them to an already powerful build unquestionably makes it even more powerful.
This is a ridiculous argument. You can't hold 120 inspirations, and if you tell me you can in your email then I'm going to tell you that's an exploit that should probably be fixed.
I'm all for it.
gotcha, thank you for the clarification/correction
I’m not sure if the intention is to make them More of an inf sink or simply to discourage their use. If people keep using them then it will have increased their use as an inf sink. If people stop using them then people stop using them. So maybe it’s a dual purpose change?
To be clear, they will explicitly be more worthwhile now at 50, because they'll be cheaper. I think people are more likely (not myself, but someone) to spend 60 mil on their 50 than 120 mil or whatever the cost is now.
In fact, the more I think about it, the more I think it's a very good change.
This change discourages you from automatically giving every new toon you make 8 hours of all 3 amps, while simultaneously making amps more attractive as an inf sink at max level.
Two thumbs up!
except that isn’t why they exist at all. they were added to be a Real Money expenditure. You’re trying to rewrite history to suit your opinion of how the game should be.
you can lower difficulty to -1. I see no reason for the amplifiers to exist at all, but since they do, I see no problem making them an expensive option for leveling alts, sort of like heirloom weapons in other games. A new player should build up to power instead of having it handed to them just like in every other game ever.
None of these things are necessary. SOs are easily attainable for the new player and that makes the low levels plenty easy. If a new player is having so much trouble that they need amplifiers then you would be helping them more by giving them advice on how to play than by giving them inf.
If one thinks of this as a compromise position between leaving things as they are and eliminating amplifiers from the game entirely then it seems pretty reasonable.
In fact, if we compare to the OTHER source of Amplifiers, Super Packs, the price seems pretty close to right on, if perhaps just a Little bit high.
