  1. Oh, yes, that’s true, but what I meant was if you ARE trying to play as Meat Shield, then having ranged Taunt at lower levels can be helpful. YMMV.
  2. well, Taunt is still useful if you lack AoEs or Ranged abilities, but yea, generally.
  3. It did, although it was different. The version of the trinity that existed at that time was Tank, Healer, Controller. That was from (someone correct me if I'm wrong) Everquest. World of Warcraft modified that to what we NOW think of as the trinity of Tank, Healer, Damage.
  4. It’s not about wanting trinity play, I don’t want trinity play. I just want fights to last longer than 10 seconds and I want powers that don’t do damage to be valuable. I still want the same “everyone’s useful, no one’s required” style of balance that we currently have.
  5. Well yeah I would expect them to go through HC QA first. I was just trying to come up with a replacement for turbo boost, and stealth seemed like an obvious way to go. Actually, now that I think about it, it’s such an obvious way to go, I wonder if there are any less obvious ways to go that would be cool. Teleportation and extra fly speed are already taken, and a -Fly power is unnecessary because the set already has one, but what else could it be?
  6. I would really like to see the remaining Origin power pools (Gadgetry and Utility Belt) be implemented in the game. I understand there's a little trouble with Gadgetry, because the Jetpack extra tray power Turbo Boost really just is what Fly is now, with Afterburner free. So my suggestion is to give Jetpack an extra tray power called Stealth Mode that costs very little endurance and has a very short recharge and makes the user Invisible when toggled on.
  7. They lied. Slot whatever you like. The only time I’ve ever seen it be an issue is with that one badge.

  10. I believe the only ways to do both are to either do one in Oro afterwards, or join someone else's team. There is a badge for doing all the content in Atlas, and it includes doing both Fields and Costel. I don't know if doing it on someone else's team counts for that though, maybe not.
  11. Most greed based crimes aren't punished, like destroying economies, starting wars of aggression, stealing your employees wages, or cancelling City of Heroes. Wage theft is massively underreported.
  12. It's a neat idea, but honestly I'd like them to make the current Force Fields better first.
  13. Yes, but like I said, it's inconsistent. For example, Maneuvers gives everybody the Defense Up buff icon. But Force Fields, Ice Shields, Fortitude, and many other abilities have their own graphics and do not include the generic icon. Freezing Rain, for another example, causes a Defense and Damage Resistance Debuff, but its graphic on mobs is just a Cold effect, not generic Shield icons of any color.
  14. But you may be right in the more general sense, that while it is inconsistent it is also systemic, not individual to each power. Just some powers don't participate in that part of the system, I guess.

  16. Just in general I think those generic buff icons whether they are for leader ship, inspirations, or anything, should be temporary. They should appear when you initially turn on whatever ability it is, and then they should go away. In every single case.
  17. I am talking about the generic buff icons. The little flash when you initially turn on the toggles doesn’t bother me.

  20. I know this has gone in Suggestions before, which is why I'm not putting it there. I'm just wondering if anyone knows WHY there isn't a Minimal Effects version of the Leadership toggles that gets rid of the icons floating around you? They're really annoying.

  22. A few months ago I joined a Redside team and the leader stopped inviting people at 5. I asked why, and they indicated that they preferred small teams and asked politely if I'd still like to come along. I was surprised, simply because it's unusual, but I stayed and we had a great time. On teams that size everyone has to really pull their weight. So teams like this DO exist, though they may be fewer, and people DO like playing this way and will join your team. Just inform people ahead of time what the plan is.

This game is a little different from other MMOs in that the Tank isn't singled out as the most important person on the team who gets to dictate the flow of gameplay for everyone else, that's true. A tank in this game is however still a toughy who jumps in first, pulls groups together, and makes everyone else's job way easier. Even at the high levels.
