  1. To be fair, it is a budget build. I even saw some basic changes in the build which would have made it better, but it would cost more.
  2. The size of the bucket doesn't matter. My point is, what I did didn't mater. I pulled hundreds of salvage off of the market and could easily continue to do so with no real impact. Other long time players admit to there being a lower cost to building a character. Your point seems to be I say things wrong, which doesn't really support you being right, or the fact that your data can't really be shown and has to be kept super secret for reasons, which again, it doesn't mean you're right. Are builds easier to pimp out on HC as compared to live? If true, then maybe farming isn't the super terrible thing to worry about and lead to multiple threads on this forum. Also true with ebil marketers. One estimated some players could have in the range of 300 billion which was gotten by a heavy dose of using the market. Please tell me how faming is the issue if a stat like that is true? FYI, back on live I used crafting and selling common IOs as a way to build my income. I can't do that now as the market for them has bottomed out. That's real data I can point out and you can verify. Just like you can go on the market and still buy common salvage for 100 or even lower despite my efforts to pull as much as I could.
  3. Same guide I used. I didn't use sets until I hit 50.
  4. FYI, Tough doesn't do much against fire based attacks, and it isn't in my build. I can currently dual box +4/x8.
  5. On SOs? I need video as I'm calling BS. I say this as someone who solo PLed a Spines/fire to 50 and was doing +2/x8 with common level 25 IOs.
  6. Currently using the SJ/ea build, and enjoying it a lot. Just kind of seeing what it can do now with IO sets slotted and working on getting everything to T4. Working on getting the IOs for a Elec/sd just to see how that feels although that is only currently level 27. If you ever get the urge to do other ATs, by all means do so. At least with melee ATs there is a bit of copy/paste.
  7. I might still lean with /ea. You have two clicks. End game wise, blue bar issues should be easy enough to fix, so you are really likely just looking at the heal and that can either be equal or used more/less than Practiced Brawler in comparison to /sr. Case in point, +2/x3 with IOs and and some Incarnate stuff done. I think I looked at my end bar once just to see and it was healthy. I clicked on the heal once, and that could have been handled with a green. I'm still trying to figure out what diff setting I want for end game content. Even if I could do x8, I likely won't since there is a time/fun issue. Note, this is on a SJ/ea. I would lean on bigger mobs if I was Elec. I'm probably fine with x4 as I don't really play my stalkers to clear huge packs. I want to get in and out and move on asap. I might bump it to +3. Just depends on the mission.
  8. That number is also irrelevant. My point was I could buy a horde of something, sell it elsewhere for profit, and yet, the market magically carries on. Again (gets out soapbox) THE LONGEST I HAD TO WAIT FOR A BID TO FULLFILL WAS ON LIVE. Time and time again people who are willing to dump hundreds of millions in terms of currency into their builds are fully admitting it being cheaper to pimp out a build on HC versus live, and yet, oh noes farming is doing harm to the game. The market prices are TOO DAMN HIGH!
  9. Changed things up so it might not be about being near a base. Game is crashing about once a day or so when using the market.
  10. Missing my point. Anyone can do what I did, and the prices of that salvage isn't really going anywhere. The longest I had to wait for something on the market to get filled was on live.
  11. Forgive me then for I have bought as many of the common salvage types from the market at 100 per item as I could hold and sold them to a vendor for 250 as a way to generate currency for a new character. I'm not sure how the market could deal with my shenanigans considering there were over 10 million of said items even after I was done.
  12. I don't mind revisiting something later on, but I find I tend not to. I had a list of 30 characters, and decided I didn't want to invest in all of them in terms of IOs, Incarnate, etc, so I picked 10 and got rid of them. I might trim more later on. I concede I took a long break, but once characters start to see 400-500 days of not being logged on, I'm okay with moving on. I strip them as well, and move onto things I want to actually play. And yes, this by default makes it easier for my other characters to become rich as 2-3 million is pretty easy to get transferred. One build I axed had two purple recipes I made sure to keep.
  13. Self found wouldn't work as well here since players can control mob size. This does remind me I never used that setting in PoE and yet I never traded with players. Limiting it to 500 million is comical. My latest build to be done was around that amount and had purples. I mean, "Oh noes, it took two days to fund a build versus one. Damn, I guess I won't farm."
  14. (remembers when people farmed before AE existed)
  15. Define farming? There are plenty of builds, see tanks, who can nap though +2/x8 content. Are they farming, or is it just when it is +4/x8 because the only difference at that point is currency and not drops? Is it not the same since the mobs change up enough even though again, some builds essentially sleepwalk through that content. It doesn't have to include fire attacks to be farmed for rewards. Or is it the repetitive nature of it all which makes it farming like playing ebil marketer? Since, you know, once someone knows how to work the market, there's very little risk at all outside of a misplaced bid. People have written about how best to essentially farm Incarnate related drops or merits. Just curious what people find so terribly wrong in this game where defined correctly A LOT of people "farm" on some level. Oh, and why on God's green Earth is it so terrible I enjoy the way to play the game the way I have chosen to do so? If by farming I put more into the market than take out of it, how is that "bad?"
  16. If you can deal with Storm on a defender, it will work even better on a controller since you can mitigate some of the KB by default. The #1 issue for me would have been how much that's going to suck your end bar. I ran a Plant/storm to 50, and that was one of the more painful rides to 50. Getting the alpha slot unlocked and invested in it really opened it up. Until then, I felt like I kept having to hold back. Note, I didn't use any of the IOs for procs in terms of Stamina/Health. That would have helped. Even on my Fire/time controller, I felt like going, "Someday, I will be able to go all out."
  17. Biggest downside is getting to 18, and then level 22 so you can at least get some decent common IOs in the build. Red side doesn't help with early TFs like blue side does. I got mine into the 40s, and it is one of the few controller builds I can see wanting to invest in once I hit 50. Ill/rad for me on live was the first build to actually pull off +4 even at common IO level.
  18. On live, Ice/ice and Elec/dark which I had for a hardcore SG. I loved the Ice one despite Ice's rep. If I had to pick one between the two, Elec/dark. A bit of buzzsaw back when that was a thing. A reroll would be a higher priority if I wasn't thinking of making it Elec/rad instead as that combo wasn't an option when I rolled my tanks on live. I have a SS/elec brute in the 40s so waiting to see how I like Elec in terms of end game before I roll another. On HC, I just started to play around with a Dark/staff. If not for having them in other ATs, I would instantly roll a Shield/rad and Bio/rad. So far I know I like EA, although on stalker, and WP as defensive sets. Fire doesn't qualify until I can kick the tires outside of AE. SJ and Claws are favorite melee sets with Kat and Rad being up there.
  19. Start slotting some level 25 common IOs to save on swapping out enhancers. Also, Stamina should get a Performance Shifter: +End proc and a Performance Shifter: End Mod IO. Health can get Numina's Convalescence: Regen/Recovery, Miracle: +Recovery, and a Panacea: +HP/End. If you need currency, A bit of marketing can go a long way. Once some bids come in, my level 6 will have 8+ million. I fully plan on making any new character self sufficient in terms of currency and only slotting attuned IOs. See:
  20. Request Dark/staff tank. Claws/wp brute. Skip the T1. SS/elec brute. Skip the T1. Add in Cross Punch and Spring Attack. If nothing else, it will good to use as I try to see how well I would do building them.
  21. Same, but this time in RWZ
  22. Game has crashed on me three times in the past two days including twice this morning while using the market. Anyone else having the game crash while using the market?
  23. There was absolutely a time where Kins(because SB and Fulcrum) and Stone tanks(because they were night killable) were absolutely looked for when doing certain things. Now, the game has changed and Stone tanks aren't all that, and yes, during HC there has a been a lot less of anything specific called out, but there absolutely was a time when things were different. I have run numerous configurations with groups as I ran a SG back on live, but how much support was looked for was vastly depending on what the team was showing it could handle. That's about the only time I cared about team makeup. (remembers a PuG in Hollows with a FF and Sonic, fun times)
  24. It was from live, so no clue at this point, but I played a ton back on live and remember how much things leaned so heavily towards Emps and how often default attack based builds there were. Hell, based on HC's numbers from last year, Emp's were still over double of any other set for defenders.
  25. I've seen people get flack for being Rad and being limited to its heal, so no, I don't think any heal will do. We all know Emp defenders aka 'healers' with nothing but the default attack are a meme. But yes, Kins have been asked for which also negates the statement that no powerset ever has been asked for.
