  1. One pro for Ice is that it works better for a Corr as the rains benefit more from scourge.
  2. I would go /elec. It adds a damage aura, end recovery, and +recharge. I also prefer resist based sets on brutes.
  3. Almost done lawn moving, and will log on then.
  4. I basically came to this conclusion recently on a SS brute I have. Adding in Spring Attack for more AoE as well. Hurl was an easy drop for me. I actually have more slots than I need for commons at an initial glance so I still need to work on the build and then obviously see what works for an IO set based build.
  5. Masterminds. I had one on live, but here I just simply can't be bothered. Doms would be another but I rolled an Earth/earth and loved it.
  6. To be fair, scrappers get more out of Shield in terms of damage. Also note brutes get more out of /wp since it is partly based on regen and more HP fuels that.
  7. Invite doesn't seem to be valid anymore. If you log onto Discord, you can search for the Everlasting Defenders server.
  8. If I had a guess, I would say you are white.
  9. I lean with brutes when resist sets are factored in. More HP and a better resist cap.
  10. Depends. If you want a degree in Computer Science, absolutely. We are talking Calc 3 level of math. If you simply want to make websites, then no. Do note the emphasis on math is vastly due to proving how good you are with logic puzzles. Someone with e CS degree could just about never code as part of the curriculum as where a software engineer is going to do a lot of coding getting their degree. Even getting my Associates in CS, I had all of two classes where I turned on a computer and a number of math classes. If you want to code for websites, software engineer is a good lean. If you want to program rockets, lean CS.
  11. Adding in +5 diff setting will limit teams as people will have to look for builds which can handle it. There are already teams which run level 50 content with whoever or with level 35+. Now you might start to get teams looking for level 50s only. Also, it will have to be something else the HC team needs to balance. Case in point, I have been on level 50 teams running +4 when I am sked. That means I'm -5, and to be honest hitting things can be an issue. Now you want players to be facing mobs while -6? Add in some mobs can mop up certain teams at +4. +5 is only going to make that a bigger issue.
  12. Rad is essentially Dark with a crappier heal, less utility, and more AoE and more so not on a stalker. I have 3 Rad melee characters, but I think only one might make it to 50. Rad/bio brute because, well duh. 🙂 I'm not a fan of the animations either.
  13. As someone who is a software developer for one of the biggest names in the biz, the coding isn't the issue. You want to give a default buff to MA and EM for stalkers? Add in their AoE. Not to say they are balanced as EM would need more than just that, and it is only for one AT. What takes time? Deciding HOW to buff a set. Do you simply straight up copy TW's numbers? What if they have a different number of AoE and ST attacks? What are the end costs? Recharges? Base damage? DoT? What's fair? How is each set suppose to feel? SS, Claws, Savage, Ice, and KM feel different, but how are they balanced? Claws has ranged attacks so maybe it does lower damage, but how much lower? Ice gets a power for AoE mitigation with no damage. How do you balance that even against a set which has a ST mitigation attack, ie Psy? Honestly, how does one define balanced as that's multiple meetings right there. Now try doing this for all of the sets lower than TW versus simply fixing TW. Moving a base number of damage from 7 to 10 is easy. Knowing that's what you are suppose to do is the hard part. This says nothing of testing those changes. A developer can easily spend 80% of their time not coding. Trust me, balancing all of the sets is going to lead to way more meetings, theory crafting, and testing than straight coding. I've honestly lost count the amount of times a fix in a game for balance issues had an unexpected outcome once it hit live. Even if it only went to beta, the DM changes were deemed too good once they got in the hands of players.
  14. It might partly depend on what ATOs are being used as well. ATO procs for scrappers and stalkers, as an example, are very good for them so I would be hard pressed to see those subbed out.
  15. There's zero guarantee this game has a long term life. Even if it did, it is far easier to fix one set versus a number of them. This game now is horribly balanced when it comes to Incarnates versus non-Incarnate content. There's no real motivation to buff sets up to TW levels.
  16. I would look myself, but I'm working from home, and my wife has the day off, so... 🙂
  17. I had a bad run on a scrapper to where I thought of switching it to a stalker due to generally being safer. Stalkers with Hide and an ATO proc to pop Hide again can be incredibly safe in combat.
  18. Do a search for S/L farms as Rad will be better built for those versus fire. It's what I'm planning for on my Rad/bio. I've only poked around on some as I leveled as a build check, so I don't really have any favorites. Ones with EBs will offer more currency, but you also need to have a build which can deal with them in proper fashion to keep the currency/time factor in your favor. I know there is a popular one with EBs and the standard space map, but I can't recall which one it is. It really shouldn't be hard to find.
  19. Blaster: Water/temp Brute: Claws/wp Stalker: StJ/ea I have others I can see having more potential, see Rad/bio brute, but these are for ease of 1-50. Ill/dark and a Widow might join after they hit 50.
  20. Well, outside of the hour long phone call which prevented me from playing at the start, it was a fun time. Deaths were minimal outside of the time there was talk of adding a Discord channel and people trying to join that while in a mission. Discord: https://discord.gg/9XGRUR
  21. The problem would be using anything owned by NCSoft so logos would be a no go at least until the HC has ownership. The first one with Michigan in it would be doable.
  22. You also don't have to go full on Hero to flip sides either. You can play on both sides via being a Rouge or Vigilant.
  23. Wife's day off so waiting to see what her plan is. I rolled three defenders and played around with one only to be reminded I prefer not doing buff based sets so I might try out some other sets as they would be new to me, but likely will be a Dark/dark and Time/dp. I've never really even looked at Poison so that might be worth a roll at some point.
  24. Since I played FF back before IOs it wasn't that bad back then, so I can't say it was the worst. More like it just aged itself into irrelevance. I think part of the answer for me is did the build ever have IOs in it? Some builds with common IOs are simply underwhelming. See Fire or Dark armor. I've done /fa twice to 50 although to be fair both were farmers. I did the arc to unlock Mu Mastery and holy hell, I've never felt more gimped and more so with a high level build slotted. The DA one is at 31. No default KB protection and end heavy as hell. I actively sought out two IOs as soon as I rolled it. More on the defender side, Sonic and TA are both in need of help. I think Traps is fine when soloing or facing an AV. I had all three in the 30s.
