  1. I would offer up Ice/Thermal Corr if they go Shield. Shield is Def based where as Thermal is Res and has some healing with Debuffs. I like finding some sort of controls for annoying things and Ice Blasts has enough holds to cover you. Rad could use some Cold support. EA is pretty self sufficient so it is fairly open to what works for it. If they go Axe, having something like Time involved would be helpful as Axe is on the slower side and Time offers +Recharge.
  2. I also don't list things for a 'flat' amount like 3mil. I'll go a certain amount under it, likely less than a hundred, and that seems to work well enough. I just know once I came back to the game, the market has been rather terrible.
  3. As someone who tries to solo 'all the maps' as high as I can tolerate, I feel like any armor set has a mob which they fear. I have builds which default to +3x8 and be forced to go +0x8 if that just to get through specific maps. Def and DDR is #1 for being able to survive, and yet there are mobs which have such a high ToHit you can feel a bit naked. Res would be second, but again, you aren't getting DDR. Once Debuffs start to happen, those builds can fall in breath taking fashion. There's simply too many Debuffs which can cripple a build. I feel like there is a Red side mob with an LT which does -Recharge and -End. Needless to say that was a rather interesting arc to go through. Even builds with some protection, see Stone and End Drain, can find itself sucking down blues soloing a map with nothing but Mu set at x8.
  4. This. I don't doubt the devs have lots of data they use for various things, but giving players said data feels as it isn't something they are going to do. The thread in question gets repeated calls for updated data and yet four years later there has been none.
  5. Missed in the answers is not knowing what diff setting the missions are going to be set at. +0x1. Any/any. Outside of that, you are looking to deal with damage types for your damage and what you need to mitigate against. I can't recall if I bumped up my diff yet for my low level Kat/sr, but they have handled Gold side rather easily so far.
  6. Any competent farmer has Def, Res, and heals covered. What they want is even more Recharge and being Damage capped so they don't have to chug and convert Inspirs to reds. A Kin is so far ahead of any other support the only other powerset needed to support it starts after a Kin is already involved and that's sets with -Res debuffs. In terms of AT, Defenders have the best stats for Kin, but Corrs and Controllers are essentially close enough. One difference is Kin/sonic has the best -Res debuff. Now, I don't know enough on numbers to know if a Fire/kin Corr or Controller would be better due to their damage output, but I think it would partly depend on the number of Supers actively fighting. If there already is a Kin involved, a good option is TA/sonic. Safe support from a distance and a Fire Farmer lights Oil Slick to a default. In the history of the game, there has been call outs for three types of support: 'Healers' although that feels a bit on the yesteryear side lately and vastly due to the myth that CoH succumbs to the Holy Trinity trope when it doesn't, Kins for farms mostly but cranking out missions in short order is always welcomed. I remember doing long TFs on Live and people happy I had my Kin or people hoping we could get one. Debuffs/-regen because someone needs an AV killed. I'm not saying other support aspects aren't welcomed or appreciated. I just haven't seen calls out in channels for them.
  7. It is widely considered one of the best. The narrative has been it hasn't been ported to Tankers as it would be 'too good.'
  8. The biggest con for end drain in the current state of the game is how much AVs can chuckle at it and say it tickles. For trash mobs? They're super easy to handle.
  9. You must play on different maps than I do. 😆
  10. Dark with the previously mentioned Def based sets is practically cheat code for doing harder stuff since Dark has a heal, which SR and Shield benefit from, -ToHit Debuffs, and ToF offers a bit of mitigation.
  11. Also, you should be in range to use level 25+ IOs so I would look at crafting those even if they are the common ones. You can slot them and be fine at 50 with them as you build your currency. The market is cheap as ever so finally going all in won't be an issue post hitting 50. Last I priced a level 25 common IO build it was 2-3 million, and I wouldn't be surprised if I could do it even cheaper right now.
  12. I mostly solo and get on teams to do TFs for the badges. I don't do 2x XP boosters unless maybe I am at a dead point content wise. I bounce around vastly between characters but have been known to focus on a build if it really clicks for me. More so as of late since I really don't make new characters these days. After coming back after a 200+ day break, I am playing my level 50s and soloing a Dark/sr Scrapper Red side. Farming got nerfed enough I just rather duo box regular content. How long to 50? Eventually. I don't think half my roster is 50 although it is close.
  13. There's a case for Sentinels being the best sappers despite the limited cap on targets.
  14. I've used SS has a travel power on a Kin but never when in or near combat. That's what Siphon Speed is for.
  15. As someone who ODed on Kin on Live, my Kins play next to the tank or other melee ATs. If you have cone shaped blasts, that can be dealt with via doing hover blasting or popping into the air and then using the cone blast. I only used SO/generic IOs on Live and never really got into Incarnates so I have no concept for needing Ageless.
  16. Series started slow. Writing has been okay. Kids actors was a sore spot, but I assumed they were going to be one offs and they were. It's not like Star Wars has a great track record with kid actors anyway. The show has gotten better and the last one was terrific. I think it would be hard for them to not at least land the show at a decent spot for me. Is it the best thing I'm watching? No. It might not even be Top 3, but that's better than what click-bait Youtube is saying. I still don't get how something they said was going to happen actually happened. We are must be watching different shows. But hey, it's the land where things are the best things in recent years or ever or complete trash. Average is not allowed damn it. Seriously, I recently watched something deemed the best in years by multiple reviewers(non Youtube even), and it makes me wonder what else they have watched.
  17. This isn't a Defender issue. This is a game issue. Welcome to CoH, where no build or AT is required but all are welcome. I got on a team where we were doing +4x8 content with a team of 4. One was an Emp Defender. Everyone else was sub 50 and poorly slotted or not slotted at all. We rolled mission after mission due to that Emp.
  18. I haven't played Ill on a Dom so I'm basing my opinion from others back when I was previously on the forums(see before the last Issue, but I did read the patch notes), and that was it played better on a Controller. Mind was deemed better on a Dom. I've loved playing a Mind Controller, but never got one to 50. I've done Ill to 50 twice on Controllers. They are the odd duck of Controllers as how they mitigate damage is rather outside of the box for the AT, but end game is one of the strongest for Controllers. Back on Live, I played support a ton which meant I have a lot of experience with it versus Doms. For the life of me I keep rolling Doms only to delete them. My favorite run was a Plant/fire, but it was part of a hardcore SG, alas, it didn't make it to 50. Favorite Controller? (gets out list) It really depends on what playstyle suits you. Earth/storm and Ill/dark are two different beasts but beasts none the less. Which one would anyone want more on a team? We don't care. No really. We don't. Gameplay in CoH is more steamroll than ever. You can get on +4/x8 teams where one of the characters could solo the map, so realistically the others are there as an audience and to make it go faster. Again, I'm a huge support person. Teams will seek out having at least some support. The real truth of the matter is teams will seek out the support secondaries of a Controller versus the secondaries of a Dom. There isn't a Dom secondary getting called out like /kin does for Controllers. #Notsorry. But again, it's a playstyle thing. As someone who ODed on playing Kin, I get why people don't like playing the energy drink click fest that is Kin. There's an argument to be made for how much additional control do Doms add which is needed for a team which is steamrolling. I've literally played Controllers who felt like subpar Defenders due to how little my controls felt needed. On the flip side, I've seen how much smoother a Dom can make things for a team. A case can be made for adding more than one Controller for controls. A Dom who can go perma can cover controls by themselves. The game simply has annoying things in it, see Sappers. Having controls can be a solid part of that steamrolling. Putting it another way, lets say a team has a single defender on it for support. That team would benefit more from a Dom. If the team had a single Controller, another Controller would help more. IMO, etc. At the end of the day, teams are vastly steamrolling anyway, so play what you find fun. Some days you might want to giftwrap a mob for your teammates. Sometimes you might want to lock things down. run in, and beat the crap out of it. I really should do a Plant/sav some day. About the only advice I would give if you went Ill Controller is pick a debuff based secondary. PA can't be buffed, so using a buff heavy secondary offers less for Ill. An aside, a different take on Doms with a side of support would be a Widow. Part of me wonders why I don't play Doms more due to how much I love my Widow, but also I would just rather play my finished Widow versus leveling up a Dom. P.S. Anyone saying Controllers have low damage are ignoring certain combos for Controllers.
  19. I haven't finished Echo yet, and the less said about Secret Invasion the better. I actually liked it better the Cap and Winter Soldier, but it looks like I'm in the minority on that. Seriously, that series is so forgettable no one talks about it anymore.
  20. That video was far longer than it needed to be. The error was spending GoT money on a show without a GoT audience. The end. While yes, the twerking scene was not needed, but calling it "sh*t" is just wrong. It was overall decently reviewed. I felt like the TV show did the character justice. That final episode is going to hold up even 20 years from now. I know when they added the one actress as basically a scene stealer people on Marvel's social media loved that character. I also find their point about targeting women when their fans base is really men odd. Did they not see the Wonder Woman film which did over $800 million? Yes, the film was really good, but you can't tell me they weren't doing similar in the film versus the show in terms of poking fun at the patriarchy. Plus, they brought up the whole 'woke' nonsense. +90% of people complaining about Disney or anything being woke just proves to me they don't know what they are talking about and make me yearn for the days when people didn't value some randos on Youtube and followed actual journalists. In the end, She-Hulk I thought was one of the better Marvel shows.
  21. Fire/rad Brute could work, but it lacks much in the mitigation department. Granted, I have a Savage/rad Brute in the similar vein.
  22. I would go Fire/rad for Corr, Controller, or Blaster. I find /fire to be not worth my while on a Brute unless I am farming. Rad melee is a bit on the slow side for me as well.
  23. I'm not sure how many of these series need to keep going, but I enjoyed it and thought it was one of the better Marvel series they did. The reality of the situation is Mark Ruffalo isn't getting younger, so at some point even if he is brought in, it would likely just be for voice work. My guess is this is why Skaar was done along with Red Hulk although I don't expect that to be a long arc.
  24. X-Men are being covered this year via a new cartoon and Deadpool 3. Technically Ms. Marvel is a mutant in the MCU. IIRC, they literally couldn't use the word mutant until last year.
  25. I can't fathom any actor being tied to an X-Men character which Marvel has to use due to a contract. The X-Men trilogy was completed. Wolverine is done. Hugh Jackman even said he was done with Wolverine until Ryan Reynolds/Marvel essentially begged him to come back. Also, this would be similar to FF or the Defender characters from Netflix. Once you switch studios, there is no contract which goes between the studios. Hell, there were like 3 different Punisher movies, and I think they all used different actors for Punisher. I watched through E3. I find the series solid, but in the 6-7 range which feels like a default for anything D+ these days.
