  1. Soloing anything at +4/x8 depends on the mob type. Bio should be fine for mobs which don't do heavy amounts of debuffs. I did Claws and Bio to 50 on separate Brutes and both are solid.
  2. While a Tanker gets bigger AoEs, DoT damage loves Fury so I don't think it is a straight win for Tankers. I had a Rad/ice Tanker which I soloed, and I found the damage on the lower side than I would like. Could it street sweep +5/+6? Even in my 20s. I did take a Ice/stone Brute to 50. In short, Ice is cheat mode for mitigation due to Ice Patch alone so it can be used with less sturdier armors, or added to the stronger ones and make the build all the more tank like. My Ice/stone Brute soloed +4 Council before level 50, and I didn't even need Ice Patch. Note, that means +5s were involved. It was watching paint dry slow, but it can be done.
  3. I Saw the Devil. It's South Korean. Buckle up.
  4. So much of IOing out a build can be summed up to simply having currency. The straightest path forward is get a build to 50, and then keep playing that character even if they just have common IOs. Simply going through the process of getting that character to being T4ed means you should be able to cakewalk having a few 100 million on hand and that's a guess of what you would have as a minimum. With any real AH effort, it would be multiples of that. I have a Vet level 6 build with over 100 million sitting, and I've only converted and sold drops since hitting 50. Getting a build to solo at x8 is helpful since you are maxing out chances for drops. Going +1 or higher just means more incoming currency but not really a requirement. Even if you team, I can make 5+ million in a night's play session with a level 50 character on pure currency intake and not selling anything. You can build incredibly good builds for 300-500 million range depending on a few factors like on-hand resources. A T4ed build should be able to cakewalk generating that amount, and I feel like I'm in the 20-30 Vet level range for hitting fully T4.
  5. At least the devs here have gone over things like this previously. I can't remember what was on my wishlist or what of those got changed for the better. As someone who thinks pretty much any of the longer animation times for attacks is ridiculous, 5 seconds is an abomination.
  6. I would update this to: Claws/ea, Claws/sr, Dark/sr, and Dark/shield. The Dark/shield I used 2x EXP boosters and duo boxed it a bit so I have less attachment to it, Even when I was playing it, it felt fine versus amazing. I IOed it out and just waiting my turn to finish off the build in terms of Accolades and being T4. The Dark/sr is only 17, but it is playing as expected.
  7. The frustrating part is if a fix doesn't come out for a set that means it is likely and at best another 6 months before a fix happens. Regen at this point has been a meme for years. If I was on the HC team, that's a Day 1 once you get the source code fix versus it has been 5+ years since HC went public. Regen by no means becomes OP if it resisted the debuffs it needs to.
  8. Regen gets resistance to -Regen, -End, -Recovery Debuffs at a bare minimum. It is an outright crime it doesn't protect from the Debuffs for the things it is known for. This was a well beaten topic even 200+ days ago. I can't fathom this being a difficult fix. Psionic Melee could use a makeover. Re: Kinetic Melee I already did the DPA numbers for you. Even if Kinetic wins out versus Claws in terms of DPA, it is doing so with worse End usage and Recharges. If you convert these to actual DPS, and it gets so much worse for Kin. I mean seriously, CS has an animation time of 3.036 versus 1.32 for Focus. CS's recharge is 20 seconds versus 6.4, and oh by the way, Focus can actually crit. I can at least see the idea if Kin won out decidedly in ST, but it doesn't and then you factor in the AoE. The real kicker in the pants? FU is +10% ToHit and +37.5% Damage with a 12 second Recharge. PS is +7.5% ToHit with a Recharge of 120 seconds, but becomes 'only' 20 seconds once CS comes into play. Oh right, FU also does damage. What the ever loving hell? I won't complain about the new powerset even if it falls into the category of being average. I will say Wind Control is the most obvious missing set since it is even listed on the Wiki's page. A Psy based armor set would also be cool as it feels like it is the one damage type which doesn't really have an armor. Again, Sonic or some other melee set which plays fast and isn't straight S/L.
  9. My only real complaint is no real fixes to Psionic Melee or Kinetic Melee. The fact that KM can go this long being the dumpster fire that it is IS concerning. Any buff. Any buff at all.
  10. If you skip Evis, and you should, you have one power at 2.5 cast time. The rest are rather low. Psi is also wonky in it's mechanisms and its damage can be really good or painstaking. I can already get that feeling with Claws. I want Claws, Kat, etc fast but with a reasonable damage type.
  11. I want Sonic melee. It honestly wouldn't be that difficult to do. It would offer a faster playstyle that isn't S/L based. I don't care if it is lower damage as it uses the stacking -Res to deal more damage. I don't care that it would be ST heavy. I just want a fast playstyle in the vein of Claws, but you know, not S/L.
  12. 1. What are enchancements? 2. That would still be a no. 3. It was balanced around SOs. My Rad/sonic on Live using level 25 common IOs which are not even equivalent to +3 SOs soloed just fine. Give that build IO sets? (Laughs)
  13. I would offer up Ice/Thermal Corr if they go Shield. Shield is Def based where as Thermal is Res and has some healing with Debuffs. I like finding some sort of controls for annoying things and Ice Blasts has enough holds to cover you. Rad could use some Cold support. EA is pretty self sufficient so it is fairly open to what works for it. If they go Axe, having something like Time involved would be helpful as Axe is on the slower side and Time offers +Recharge.
  14. I also don't list things for a 'flat' amount like 3mil. I'll go a certain amount under it, likely less than a hundred, and that seems to work well enough. I just know once I came back to the game, the market has been rather terrible.
  15. As someone who tries to solo 'all the maps' as high as I can tolerate, I feel like any armor set has a mob which they fear. I have builds which default to +3x8 and be forced to go +0x8 if that just to get through specific maps. Def and DDR is #1 for being able to survive, and yet there are mobs which have such a high ToHit you can feel a bit naked. Res would be second, but again, you aren't getting DDR. Once Debuffs start to happen, those builds can fall in breath taking fashion. There's simply too many Debuffs which can cripple a build. I feel like there is a Red side mob with an LT which does -Recharge and -End. Needless to say that was a rather interesting arc to go through. Even builds with some protection, see Stone and End Drain, can find itself sucking down blues soloing a map with nothing but Mu set at x8.
  16. This. I don't doubt the devs have lots of data they use for various things, but giving players said data feels as it isn't something they are going to do. The thread in question gets repeated calls for updated data and yet four years later there has been none.
  17. Missed in the answers is not knowing what diff setting the missions are going to be set at. +0x1. Any/any. Outside of that, you are looking to deal with damage types for your damage and what you need to mitigate against. I can't recall if I bumped up my diff yet for my low level Kat/sr, but they have handled Gold side rather easily so far.
  18. Any competent farmer has Def, Res, and heals covered. What they want is even more Recharge and being Damage capped so they don't have to chug and convert Inspirs to reds. A Kin is so far ahead of any other support the only other powerset needed to support it starts after a Kin is already involved and that's sets with -Res debuffs. In terms of AT, Defenders have the best stats for Kin, but Corrs and Controllers are essentially close enough. One difference is Kin/sonic has the best -Res debuff. Now, I don't know enough on numbers to know if a Fire/kin Corr or Controller would be better due to their damage output, but I think it would partly depend on the number of Supers actively fighting. If there already is a Kin involved, a good option is TA/sonic. Safe support from a distance and a Fire Farmer lights Oil Slick to a default. In the history of the game, there has been call outs for three types of support: 'Healers' although that feels a bit on the yesteryear side lately and vastly due to the myth that CoH succumbs to the Holy Trinity trope when it doesn't, Kins for farms mostly but cranking out missions in short order is always welcomed. I remember doing long TFs on Live and people happy I had my Kin or people hoping we could get one. Debuffs/-regen because someone needs an AV killed. I'm not saying other support aspects aren't welcomed or appreciated. I just haven't seen calls out in channels for them.
  19. It is widely considered one of the best. The narrative has been it hasn't been ported to Tankers as it would be 'too good.'
  20. The biggest con for end drain in the current state of the game is how much AVs can chuckle at it and say it tickles. For trash mobs? They're super easy to handle.
  21. You must play on different maps than I do. 😆
  22. Dark with the previously mentioned Def based sets is practically cheat code for doing harder stuff since Dark has a heal, which SR and Shield benefit from, -ToHit Debuffs, and ToF offers a bit of mitigation.
  23. Also, you should be in range to use level 25+ IOs so I would look at crafting those even if they are the common ones. You can slot them and be fine at 50 with them as you build your currency. The market is cheap as ever so finally going all in won't be an issue post hitting 50. Last I priced a level 25 common IO build it was 2-3 million, and I wouldn't be surprised if I could do it even cheaper right now.
  24. I mostly solo and get on teams to do TFs for the badges. I don't do 2x XP boosters unless maybe I am at a dead point content wise. I bounce around vastly between characters but have been known to focus on a build if it really clicks for me. More so as of late since I really don't make new characters these days. After coming back after a 200+ day break, I am playing my level 50s and soloing a Dark/sr Scrapper Red side. Farming got nerfed enough I just rather duo box regular content. How long to 50? Eventually. I don't think half my roster is 50 although it is close.
  25. There's a case for Sentinels being the best sappers despite the limited cap on targets.
