When You Want to Run Solo, What Scrapper Do You Take?
Without_Pause replied to 00Troy00's topic in Scrapper
I think 'best' can be rather subjective. I find Scrappers are 'better' when using damage which gets more resisted since they do higher damage with having access to crits. THis only really shows up when dealing with higher diff settings like +3-+4. -
Shows you how much I play my level 50. 🤣My point remains, Epic fill in what an AT doesn't already have.
-
Epics are about giving a character things they don't have access up to that point. Sents already have snipes in their primary.
-
I didn't assume anything. It is why I asked a question. In the end you asked a non-sensical question to prove a point. Whatever. I'm moving on.
-
Depending on the mob and diff setting, Lethal damage can be incredibly resisted. I don't suggest soloing DE with Claws at +4x8 on anything outside of a Scrapper. Even then, a sun dial might be required for checking your time. I soloed DE on a Claws Brute even with a lower diff(+2/+3) and I knew the build was sturdy due to how long it took to kill a mob. I would assume the different ammo would counter this to a point. I have a Fire/time Controller. End issues certainly exists, but that's vastly due to Hot Feet. I don't recall any on my Time/rad. It's been ages since I played my Time/dp, but I have been wanting to dust it off again. Its still low level though.
-
There's nothing about the build which would lead to why there are end issues or damage would be lacking. Was the build simply not really played until it was level 50, or is there something specific about this build versus the one you used when leveling? I would also look at your combat log.

Ouroboros lets you redo things which offer a badge. Turning off XP doesn't truly let you do everything as there are missions with decision points in them, but I also highly don't recommend trying to do 'everything.' At least on blue side because as someone who solos a lot, there's a ton of wasteful missions blue side. A ton. More so when you factor in doing radio missions to simply level up and do bank missions to get temp powers instead. Ouroboros feels like the greatest hits version of doing missions. Doing that and the zone related arcs are what I would focus on.

Playing by Iron Man rules. Do I live or die?
Without_Pause replied to AyamSirias's topic in General Discussion
IIRC, the original Iron Man rules were created for Diablo or some similar game. I believe EverQuest had similar rules as well. It just fell under the general label of playing hardcode. It had nothing to do with the comic book character. The original Diablo was easy enough to where numerous variants were added in from the fan base. LOL was Living Off the Land so you couldn't use stores. Naked was playing without armor. A number of people would even combine variants, see Naked LOL. -
They can't even figure out Regen and KM.

So you asked a question you knew the answer to. Got it.

I don't have an outfit I am happy with yet, but I was also surprised Beach Ball wasn't taken on Excelsior. I'm sure a number of people were mad to find out Waterpark had been taken. That's been a level 50 for me for a few years.

/stone Assassins' would like a word. Hell, just play a /ice Assassin and try to figure out how that sneaks up on anybody.

Curious to know how a Scrapper 'at rest' has 80% Def. I capped my /sr Scrapper in the area of 45%-50%. I went for other stuff after that. Even if I go back and get it to 60% across the board, that's far from 80%.
-
That's still harmful on a few Scrapper builds. SR doesn't really get the Res to offset the -20% Def. If you are at 50% Def, that's at 30% during the crash which isn't that great. More so considering how long it takes to even get that kind of Def on any build. Rage unlocks at 18. -20% Def at 18? (laughs) Scrappers also have a lower Res cap and again, it would take time to even get that up to better levels. Add in the lower HP and I can see why it would be problematic for some. Now, Rad and Bio would be instant rolls for a number of people. Elec is also great for it, but I prefer Res builds on Brutes.

Your Main Hero v Your Main Villain - Who’d win in a fight?

I look at it more from characters would would be best for 'any map' and I have to say Ill/dark versus a Fortunata would be epic. -

I prefer Stone on a Brute, but Axe/stone is still one of the best combos I have done. -
The counter point is even a Brute can get a 160% boost to damage from double stacked Rage.

Homecoming player count: a year in review

That's a lot of names to keep active. More so considering my guess is they could get those names at a later point 99.9% of the time. Some of my biggest surprises for names have been the ones I get as of late. Hell, I've made 60-70 characters or whatever it is for HC, and there's just one name I wasn't able to get which I'm mad about and that's just because I couldn't get it on a new server. They had it on the server I started on. What happens if they experience burnout and just need a break from the game? Anytime I come back after a break, I delete characters. I would rather play the characters I genuinely enjoy in the time I have to play the game. It's just weird how people buy into what I call 'the economy of someday. ' 'I need this name because someday I might play that character.' Spoiler alert, you didn't. I moved the one character to a new server post name change, and once in a while I would check to see if that name was available on my old server. It took years to get taken. -

In the spirit of Iron Man, apparently you are able to come back as a villain. 🤣 -

I can't recall the rules we had back in the day on Live with an IM SG, but you died, so that character is finished. I can't recall how much people hung around. Sometimes there can be a moment of shock/mourning happening based on the situation or level of the character. I at one point easily had the highest level character for a Blaster(41). My next run I grabbed a Dom which I really liked, we did the same mission, and that character died on the same mob, see a named boss was involved. Utter and complete gut punch. I remember one time was rather difficult due to a near team wipe happening. To add, I didn't use anything outside of Level 25 Common IOs. So no, I was not capping any sort of Def or anything like that. -
I only use IOs. I'm perfectly fine with using my as is build so there is zero extra effort or planning on my part for being exempt. "But you aren't damage capped." And? Having less damage but end reducs and recharge slotted is perfectly fine. More so when it involves zero effort on my end. Again, if I can solo on even reasonably higher diff setting, why would I waste time slotting in for a level 20 build? IIRC, I accidently left my diff setting at +1/x8 once and soloed the mission just fine. I can't recall the level I did it at, but it was at a level where I had zero chance of doing it at that level starting out.
-
ATOs can be in FU and Spin, so that's both Scrapper procs with two full sets of bonuses. Focus is also available at 13 exempted down. Who cares about set bonuses it offers. You have a full fledged ST attack chain and Spin fully slotted out. Don't act like PVP sets aren't used in end game builds either.
-
The missions can be overly annoying, but Croatoa still remains my favorite zone. The mission preventing the Fir Bolg from escaping has always been a classic to me. More so as or with Controllers/Doms. Further hat tip for doing the zone with Storm powers involved.
-
Crappy set bonuses is still better than none. Additional slots are still additional slots. At level 13 I could have maybe 3 slots in a power. At 50, it is 6. Exempted to level 13 still means I get more powers than an actual level 13 character. And again, those powers will have more slots. Hello 6-slotted level 18 power. There is also a significant difference in inspiration slots than someone who is actually level 13. My ability to solo while doing flashbacks is much better even exempted down to rather lower levels. I'm not saying I keep my diff setting the same. I'm also not saying I put it as if I am level 13.

I don't even use my time to talk about the stuff I like. The stuff I can't even be bothered to watch? Life's too short. FYI, I thought the show was okay in a 2.5/5 way. Everything else I have watched currently or recently I have deemed better. I don't waste my time watching things I know are going to be below average. A cake is far less subjective in how it is going to taste based on ingredients. More so given your list. At what point does that cake have a chance of getting better? It doesn't. Shows can get better. If a cake was made in that way, I'm not wasting my time interacting with people who enjoy it. Life's too short to point out how wrong people are for investigating into something they are curious about. You don't see me repeatedly posting about something like Rebel Moon. There's books to read. Shows and movies to watch. An outdoors to hang out in. Games to be played. Near literally anything to do than post about how much Rebel Moon sucks, which I haven't watched outside of trailers. No one lies on their deathbed and wishes they spent more time pointing out how much things sucked to people who enjoyed said things. Well, a certain type of person does.
