harder content soloing / ITFs +4/x8 build suggestions
Without_Pause replied to R jobbus's topic in Scrapper
FYI, the build is old. I'm currently running it with it being at 50, but I am playing around with the build and taking notes for what changes I would make in a revamp. -
A recent favorite for me is the Sorcery pool since it gets you Rune of Protection, but that is also depends on the build and ones which are Def based so adding in Res is welcomed. You might want to look at things like moving the slot from Tough with the Impervium Armor IO and sticking a 6th slot into the snipe. You lose 1.5% Psi Resist, but gain 4.5% Toxic Res. Tar Patch as slotted has a duration of 45 seconds and a recharge of 24.18s. I don't recall Tar Patch being able to self stack so the second Recharge is overkill. I tend to find 6-slotting Purples to be overkill since Damage and Recharge are over the ED cap. You could easily move things around to 6-slot Spirit Drain and come away with near 40% ranged Def, and that's likely the one Def stat you care about the most.

Captain America: Brave New World
Without_Pause replied to Excraft's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
General Thunderbolt Ross is old. The actor before him was 71. I don't know how much they expect to use Red Hulk anyway. Once they get voice work done, Red Hulk is essentially just CGI. If I'm Marvel, I'm cranking out as much voice work as I can from Ford. My guess is Marvel just wants him for the end of the current phase with a possible appearance in a long in the making Hulk film. -
Disney hasn't said. Even when asked midseason, so a month ago, the showrunner had no answer.
-
After minor investigation on my part. the showrunner is open to having another season. It certainly has potential to be even better.
-
Season Ender. That was hardly wrapped up neatly. I liked the episode. It still feels decent but uneven overall.
-
Spirit Drain is woefully underslotted. The less than .7/s End gain is also problematic. I know you get Dark Consumption, but still. Howling Twilight is better slotted with a -Res proc and Damage procs. Not having Dark Servant hurts my soul.

Something of an experience tonight... (spoilers for Mr. G)

Well, you did betray him. 😄 I've ranted before how some missions done solo are built to fail. This is just more geared towards a MM to fail. -
Stranger Things: uosɐǝS lɐuᴉℲ
Without_Pause replied to ThaOGDreamWeaver's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I understand why they skipped years, but it seems like they are just making each season longer and longer as part of a way to make up for it. An actress on the show said each episode of the final season is 2 hours long. The show hits far more often than it misses, but I think its asking a lot to do two season's worth of content into one. More so when the primary complaint from last season was how long the episodes were. I know I will do a rewatch at some point. I just don't know if it will be post the final season or not. I don't think the D+ shows are really intended to be normal series. They are there to introduce a character and not much else. A number of series could honestly be shorter. It wouldn't be the worst idea to just a D+ movie versus a theatrical one. -
Tips for managing endurance on a blaster
Without_Pause replied to Flame Salamander's topic in Blaster
It's actually 17. I don't ever recall having end issues with taking Hasten early, but then I know how to slot out builds and have the currency to do so. -
I don't get taking Confront unless there is a solid reason for it even if that is concept. Swapping in Assault would be an easy add, but since you want Whirlwind that's likely the one to do it with. I don't have slotting tips for it, but the overall numbers look solid. Considering the benefits of the Critical Strikes set, is there valid reason for not using it?
-
There's zero reason to 3-slot: Assault, as 1 End Reduc is enough. Hasten, as 2 Level 50 Recharges are close enough to 3-slotting it with +3 SOs. And as pointed out, there is zero need for Hasten in this build. Resurgence unless you really do plan on dying THAT much. I honestly don't take self rezzes, ever. The Energy Mastery gives you two powers which boost End and if your attacks are only from the Fighting Pool you will already be swimming in End. Mighty Leap isn't giving you much. I would at least take Weaken Resolved as you can toss some procs into it. You could take Unleashed Potential for the +Regen and +Def. I mean, various concept builds are underperforming on some level. See BillZ's successful attempt at using 1 attack on auto to get to level 50, but I wouldn't even build or slot it how you are attempting to do.

71 on Metacritic and with a 5.4 on a user score.

Build Request: Rad/EA scrapper w/ Combat TP, TP, Fold Space
Without_Pause replied to Grimm2's topic in Scrapper
Note, EA is more difficult to cap than SR or Shield due to being type based versus positional. EA is still in the running for best armors. I have three at 50. I'm less a fan of Rad melee though, and I have two at 50. -
New player group content build suggestions
Without_Pause replied to Lindharin's topic in General Discussion
Play a Stalker. People won't really have any expectations from you outside of taking out bosses since that's essentially what your job is. You can be helpful in ghosting missions and TPing the team to the end if need be. I like a number of options for a Stalker, but if I had to pick one, Ice/stone is stupid good. I need to get mine to 50 at some point. I also obviously enjoyed my ride to 50 with my StJ/ea Stalker. CU is just a fun power. -
What Is Your Reason For Choosing a Corrupter/Goals?
Without_Pause replied to Paragon Vanguard's topic in Corruptor
Defenders get better support numbers and depending on the blast set, the numbers there might not be THAT different. I will absolutely pick a Defender over a Corr in various cases. That said, Fire Blasts and Kin are auto defaults for picking a Corr. -
And? You prove my point.

I found E6 a bit boring to be honest and a bit lackluster considering the previous episode. There's 8 episodes total and that's what they serve up for E6? Pretty much any other series by E6 is doing the ramp up. This felt like an episode you do in the first half of the series. The showrunner I believe at one time said they had ideas for more seasons. I'm not sure they have enough for 1. Do a series like Echo which was 6 episodes, and it felt much better than this.

But, why? I joked how Gladiator felt like Braveheart II, so I guess this is Braveheart III.

Claws/Bio, expensive and leveling build for newbies.
Without_Pause replied to Sovera's topic in Brute
Soloing anything at +4/x8 depends on the mob type. Bio should be fine for mobs which don't do heavy amounts of debuffs. I did Claws and Bio to 50 on separate Brutes and both are solid. -
While a Tanker gets bigger AoEs, DoT damage loves Fury so I don't think it is a straight win for Tankers. I had a Rad/ice Tanker which I soloed, and I found the damage on the lower side than I would like. Could it street sweep +5/+6? Even in my 20s. I did take a Ice/stone Brute to 50. In short, Ice is cheat mode for mitigation due to Ice Patch alone so it can be used with less sturdier armors, or added to the stronger ones and make the build all the more tank like. My Ice/stone Brute soloed +4 Council before level 50, and I didn't even need Ice Patch. Note, that means +5s were involved. It was watching paint dry slow, but it can be done.

I Saw the Devil. It's South Korean. Buckle up. -
So much of IOing out a build can be summed up to simply having currency. The straightest path forward is get a build to 50, and then keep playing that character even if they just have common IOs. Simply going through the process of getting that character to being T4ed means you should be able to cakewalk having a few 100 million on hand and that's a guess of what you would have as a minimum. With any real AH effort, it would be multiples of that. I have a Vet level 6 build with over 100 million sitting, and I've only converted and sold drops since hitting 50. Getting a build to solo at x8 is helpful since you are maxing out chances for drops. Going +1 or higher just means more incoming currency but not really a requirement. Even if you team, I can make 5+ million in a night's play session with a level 50 character on pure currency intake and not selling anything. You can build incredibly good builds for 300-500 million range depending on a few factors like on-hand resources. A T4ed build should be able to cakewalk generating that amount, and I feel like I'm in the 20-30 Vet level range for hitting fully T4.

At least the devs here have gone over things like this previously. I can't remember what was on my wishlist or what of those got changed for the better. As someone who thinks pretty much any of the longer animation times for attacks is ridiculous, 5 seconds is an abomination.

When You Want to Run Solo, What Scrapper Do You Take?
Without_Pause replied to 00Troy00's topic in Scrapper
I would update this to: Claws/ea, Claws/sr, Dark/sr, and Dark/shield. The Dark/shield I used 2x EXP boosters and duo boxed it a bit so I have less attachment to it, Even when I was playing it, it felt fine versus amazing. I IOed it out and just waiting my turn to finish off the build in terms of Accolades and being T4. The Dark/sr is only 17, but it is playing as expected.
