  1. I believe damage procs can go off without waking up a sleeping target I was trying to see if that translated over. I've already tested the Chance to Heal Proc. My goal is to play test everything as I level and keep what works for me.
  2. /sr focuses on three different positions when dealing with Defense. Melee, Ranged, and AoE. You want a minimum of 45% to all three. Evis isn't worth taking and one slotting. It also isn't worth taking on a Scrapper. You can literally chain FU with Spin and Shockwave. You also want the 50% Proc in FU as that is your lowest damaging attack. I thought about taking the build and reworking it and came to the conclusion it would be quicker to simply start over. It isn't a bad build, but one done in ignorance.
  3. Might of had the number preloaded and clicked on Bid versus seeing what they had bid.
  4. We all know the Invis aspect just means that you are not the Jedi they are looking for.
  5. Talking more about trash mobs which is what you are going to face far more often than AVs. I can slap down DN or RI and know just how much that cuts down on incoming damage. Flash, not so much. I am aware RI and DN can be lesser on decently moving teams as well. I'm talking about me against a mob soloing. It irks me the damage proc seems to notify the mob of you. I still argue a 60 second duration isn't THAT beneficial. Defenders get the better numbers, but for controllers, they get ST and AoE mez which can be stacked with their primary and added damage. Net Arrow also means a Controller can skip their immobilization power if they get one. All of that's huge for certain builds. I think the End Mod +Chance for Disorient will end up being a pass in Disruption Arrow as it only procs twice/minute.
  6. I can't recall if it is in the same mission which gets looped or not, but twice in two weeks this has happened. On the most recent occurrence, multiple players said the same thing has happened to them. Note. I can't recall if the one player simply drops or quits. I'm not sure if they dropped outside of the mission or not. I just know once you complete a mission lacking a member, that mission is now looping.
  7. Well, same bug. TF simply broke up.
  8. Apparently I do new-to-me support sets on a Controller as a testing ground before deciding on making a Defender or not. My Grav/ta enabled a TA/ice. I also did a Plant/ta as I find Wormhole's animation time less than ideal. Grav/ta will be one of the few builds I get to 50 and simply park it versus dealing with getting it Incarnated. TA/ice is 22, but liking it so far, and that was with minimal slotting. I should be good to go the next time I play it. I did a bit of deathmatch for what to pair with TA. I went /ice so I can stack the hold, and /ice is a bit more solo friendly overall since the build will be put on a lower pop server and soloing at times will be needed. /dark and /water were in the running. /fire would have been nice so I can skip Arcane Bolt in order to light Oil Slick. I'm terrible at putting things in an S tier, but both options for the level 1 pick feel closer to "eh" than I would like. The lack of -tohit compared to other sets is rather noticeable. The -perception is merely kind of useful. TA can absolutely play better on a Controller so if it is an S tier for a Defender, then what the hell is it for a Controller? A Elec/ea Controller turned into a EA/elec Defender. My main on live was a Kin/elec, so I'm liking the changes to /elec. I feel like EA is an absolute love or hate thing with zero middle ground. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it as I feel like one can get caught up in spamming the powers which stack versus doing something which is actually more helpful. Absolutely saw the direct impact I had if I went down on a hard Frostfire mission. It could easily be an S tier I never want to touch though. I ODed on Kin and EA feels very much "DO ALL THE THINGS NOW." On live, I was level 25 common IOs at best. On HC, my deep dives have been on the melee side to where I could get a build fairly close to final just by doing things on the fly. Now switching over to support has been an interesting experience for me. Probably my number 1 build waiting to get played again having some knowledge about IOs for Defenders is my Cold/water.
  9. As mentioned before, I started on Torch and need to stick at least one character on there. I would likely only do occasional playing there since the build never fully got T4ed, but I would like for that to happen.
  10. Uncommon salvage which is used for popular recipes for conversion is sitting at 3k-3.5k this morning. It has been funny to watch one recipe in a set used for conversions go for 1.3-1.5 mil and another go for upwards of 2.5 mil. My salvage bids haven't moved(100 common, 1K uncommon). I'm fairly comfortable with my recipe bids and willing to wait out slower times. I currently have characters on three servers. I have one character as the main marketer. They feed themselves and the rest of the server. My main is swimming in currency and hands out 100 mil whenever I add another 100 mil. The other two have just about hit the turning point where they can start funding others. Missing out on the Synapse TF when it was the Weekly for the one character really kind of sucks. They had the levels. I didn't have the time. They need Posi 2 and just dinged 20 so they can grab Yin as well. Going to go exploring and start getting those badges and Merits. My current goal is 200 Merits/character covers a lot of characters. More so with starting to roll a number of support characters.
  11. FYI, I have no problem generating Fury on my Ice/stone Brute when using Ice Patch. There is no such thing as too much control. There are only teams who don't play aggressively enough.
  12. Odds are I likely wouldn't pick either for a Tank specifically since lethal damage and Tank damage isn't a fun solo experience. I even stopped playing a Rad/kat because of it. If you are looking for teams, then whatever. I would further lean away from Claws on a Tank with it unquestionably being better on a Scrapper with Spin having a faster recharge. DA is useful to shore up Def numbers on a Res based build. DA can help a lower level Def based Tank until it gets its Def numbers set or in cases of being debuffed. In the end, Kat has a really strong ST attack chain. Solid if not standard Cone + PBAoE for overall AoE. It has arguably the fastest animating attacks as there is no cast time higher than 2 seconds(1.83 seconds to be exact) so it flows insanely well. Give it recharge, see Rad/kat, and that's a sword based blender.
  13. My Fire/atomic is only 24, but I did it for the +recharge and Fire's cast times. I like it more than it gets played only because I think of new alts like I breathe. I have a /temp at 50, and really like it so that would work as well. I have been thinking about /ta as I could light Oil Slick without needing to chase a way to do so.
  14. I don't care beyond responding here. I'm done with petty internet arguments for today. I've already blocked someone elsewhere. I see no point in trying to convince someone of a point when they are trying to make a different point. More so when I feel like they seem to be supporting their point in a poor manor.
  15. Spoiler alert, CoH is still F2P and I've seen instances of "How do I get there?" on HC. You'll see less instances of it since odds are former players are more likely to be the ones playing, but I see new players frequently.
  16. I don't follow someone making an argument when specifically stating a case were Scrappers don't use there armors and then saying Scrappers would use them. I feel like we are talking two different things so I see no sense in running around in circles.
  17. It is still a terrible analogy. The fact that the Dom would be carrying the Scrapper in that situation proves they are doing better than what you are implying.
  18. Oddly enough Aion and Lineage 2 are both F2P so living off of transactions as are the vast majority of MMOS these days. I don't think that's what killed CoH. I do get it not being a good culture fit for Koreans and NC Soft waiting to keep tapping that aspect.
  19. This has never happened to me on Excel. I think I had maybe one TF break up, but that feels like quite the maybe. There was one TF where it was stuck in a loop for giving us the same mission. We broke up, reformed, and completed it. Yes, some people left and didn't come back for round two, but round two finished with 8 people. Speaking of Indom, last Saturday we started with 5 on a Synapse. One had to leave so we finished with 4. It was a very non-speed version as we clocked in around 2 hours. Maybe those wouldn't really happen on Excel. I know it simply isn't difficult to find a speed TF and even speed Synapse on Excel so odds are lower. I do know I have fairly routinely had longer TFs on Excel and rarely find where even a single person drops. Popular servers magnify the good and bad. Some people just like to focus on the bad. If anything, Excel knows it can create certain expectations when trying to form teams. Other servers are far more low key in terms of expectations.
  20. The analogy is terrible since the Scrapper would have hardly any controls and certainly not at the level of a Dom. I've seen my Fort have less issues with end draining hordes of Mu than a melee character with some level of end drain protection simply because you can't end drain if you can't attack. I've been soloing a few controllers recently and there are number of mobs which offer zero or very little incoming damage, and yes, Grav is in that list. The main issue is the Dom/Controller getting mezzed or how fast they can mez a boss, but that is easily taken care of without Def/Res based IOs. This says nothing about the fact that the Dom/Controller could do damage at range versus a Scrapper needing to be in melee.
  21. What an odd take to think Indom being such a low pop server means NC Soft was right to kill a game making money. Considering CO still exists I think there still was space for CoH even back in the day.
  22. Which would be a nil impact on melee characters and a far bigger one on squishy characters forcing those characters into more teaming situations. I can't say I'm for that really. I need far bigger data points as I clearly find teams which go against this, but I get on a lot of melee heavy teams these days. With the population going downward, I expect more of the same.
  23. While there is some truth in that, the population was there and by all accounts the game was making profit. It might not have been enough profit to make them happy, but it certainly wasn't tanking. I also don't know of rogue servers ever really becoming legit or being run by the people who took it over in an official way. I just highly doubt there are any games with a rogue server who stumble upon a fan base that big. Lets be honest, CoH is an after thought in the land of today's gaming where most of its player base doesn't even realize a rogue server even exists. It hardly makes NC Soft right.
  24. Maybe just list Healing as low or even list it as Healing/Regen so it could be bumped up a bit more.
  25. I see red side happening fairly often on Excel, but that's my home server.
