Not sure where to post this. Are all the mastermind pet sets being looked at for the tier 1+2 upgrades. Or is it just necro/nin/mercs that will be able to slot def/res sets in them? I feel like they should all have that ability along with the option to slot pet sets/recharge intensive pet sets/heal sets in those powers too. I see a lot of builds on forums currently using hell on earth/gang war/soul extraction simply as mules for the 6 unique pieces. Being able to slot those in equip and upgrade pets would give a lot more options to all mastermind sets instantly instead of struggling to find places for them in the tier 1+2+3 pets which are going to need more acc/dmg/end red (especially end red) for harder content.

Focused Feedback: Ninja Revamp

I was running nin/dark/mace. As i said just a quick play with them on what i thought would be an easy +2 council radio. Mobs set to 53. Boss in mob 1 used missile/grenade launcher which kb'd the pets. 2 splat landed within aggro range of 2 other mobs in the room so i was getting hit by 3 mobs at the same time. Both of those died instantly and the rest of the fight was just a constant summon fest. I usually play aggressively and try to aggro the room anyway i just prefer to do it in my own time and not thanks to enemy knockbacks. There are a lot of combos that can handle +4 on live that will have an easier time of it if the changes go through. I run a bots/trick arrow that can and i expect that to be even better. Tier 1 pets struggle vs +5's as is. On a +4 rep they are facing +6's and the damage output is just a constant stream of 1 tic which takes forever to down a mob. -

Tried ninjas/necro/mercs. Mercs changes bump them to no.1. By a mile (although they've always been no. 1 in my book). Ran through +2/8 it was a murderfest i've never seen anything go through mobs that fast short of nuking toon. Made no changes to a live build and i can only assume it would be even better with def+res bits thrown in the upgrades. -

Quick play with them, only set to +2/8 with no build changes from live. Seems awesome at least til the mobs set to 53's and there were 2-3 of them close by. At that point i lost pets regularly as i'd expect to. Any knockback is pretty much instant death for the pets which the ranged ones dont have to put up with in the same way, just get back up and pew pew, ninjas have to leggit back at the mobs and usually get a face full of whatever the enemies throwing and faceplant before they get back into melee. The changes are fantastic- to all the mm pets getting upgraded, way more survivable and i can see them actually feeling useful on teams, even the fast moving ones. Haven't tested vs 54's. Not sure i will. The tier 1 pets were struggling vs +5's as it was. -
As to damage numbers- i don't do math. And even if i did whatever you come up with isn't what you get in game, its old and odd and thats why we love it.
-
I take the t2 because i love scream animation with shout and screech, thats my st rotation. What else i take depends on the secondary but sirens song is now the biggest aoe hitter so shockwave-howl-sirens make up a nice rotation but they are all cones. DPS wise its not going to match fire/ice/elec. It may still be down there at the bottom despite the smoother/faster animations and sirens damage increase.

I have a fairly old one but its good for soloing tf's form about moonfire on up provided you keep frostwork up on the pets.

Aw why bring math into it. Now i can't argue. -

Yup i was chatting in game and just trying to make a point. Just suggesting that the only form of immob prot on an armr set be changed so drastically seems ridiculous. -

You can ignite the ground beneath you, freeing yourself from Immobilization effects. What happens to fire armours immob portion which i'm assuming was the original intention of the power? Will we be waiting 45 seconds to free ourselves from a web nade? -
Not an odd combo at all, a very popular one. This was very early on when /elec affinity came in:
-
Haven't tanked a hardmode so i'm not entirely sure about what will do best as so far i've been a buff/debuff/dps and the tank primary/secondary seemed irrelevant as the rest of the team does most of the work (honestly how hard is it to jump in a mob and click taunt 😛 ) but it does look like you went overboard on melee def. You won't survive without a few buffs anyway so i'm pretty sure you could drop to mid 50's. I messed about with one of @Sir Myshkin sr tank builds as i was considering a respec on my sr/dm myself but i find i much prefer rad melee. As to your alpha pick. No. If you wanted the extra def then agility is miles more useful for a tank-rech/def/end mod. Anyway here's what i was looking at, having leadership over sorcery i think the tactics/assault would be more beneficial to yourself and the team. Not sure how much use rune is nowadays hopefully someone else will point at it and say its useless so i can drop it (only had it originally for the theme)

Turn off kick to see actual recharge time. Now you'll see your actual recharge and you may as well turn off hasten since its only 1 slotted. Link minds will have a massive downtime so you def which is still high won't be as high as your looking at. Turn off aim-with your recharge its barely up anyway and you'll see your accuracy as it is on your attacks. Doesnt make sense to me that a procced dark oblit has better acc than a properly slotted life drain but there you go its coh and numbers can be weird especially in game. Life drain acc looks awful it should be better in game than mids is showing. 6th slots in mind probe and psy shockwave are giving you aoe/f/c def but still not to the point where its very useful. Gloom wants slots although as i understand it from some players that ran dps you'd be better off with dark blast. Not sure wet ice res can be bumped so a standard boosted end red will do the trick instead of the hammi (if you look you'll see you can't slot res io's). Have to assume you planned on t4 ageless no way its running as it is now without a tray of blue insps and recovery serums, 1 click of antumbral and you'll be looking at the insp tray. I'm a huge fan of umbral torrent for the cc and the ability to slot interesting procs but since it seems sent epics out damage their primaries i can see why you went for those instead. I only have 2 /ice sents i'll toss the one with fire blast on, its not great but it doesn have perma hasten which makes a big difference hopefully you'll get some ideas:
-
I never considered that good idea, not sure if my mouse has the capabilities for it though 😛 If your going for an active build and not planning to afk often then you can go full on damage and recharge. I can't keep track of who's posted what-this is not my build its just out there on the forums somewhere procs galore and loads of damage and recharge:
-
I ended up respeccing mine so it could survive a bit longer on the new farm maps but even then it'll still get killed if 5+ mobs start to target it with ranged attacks and it has way more regen and hp. If your happy running the older maps with less xp/inf and your going to be fine but as soon as you run the updated ones you have to be pretty active with the heals if your sticking with mu epic. And for damage you have to because mu is still way out in front of the others. I still haven't found a way to keep mu in and get regen and hp high enough to make it a proper afk farmer i'm having to position it around corners to survive if i go afk for a long period and let the wandering mobs roam into me. Standing in the centre of the map is a death sentence. You have some odd slotting like the armageddon in atom smasher instead of burn and 6 slotted for a toxic/psi res bonus that makes no sense. If your running ageless then consume can be dropped. Anyway here's mine not sure it will help i doubt the dps is any better, its probably worse since i had to drop musculature for spiritual to boost the heal and recharge (shield walls are just there for the hp bonus i think i replaced the tp prot with a def/rech):
-
Fire/Sonic maybe trying for too much but maybe y'all can help!
Meknomancer replied to Apocohotep's topic in Dominator
Quick glance, oblit sets in hotfeet and deafening wave will kill your blue bar, only perma ageless will let you run it like that. You slotted flashfire with a set giving aoe defence when you have nothing else to back it up and its probably a waste to chase that type of def anyway. Bonfire. It has 0 kb/kd in so as soon as you pop it ( and you skipped the aoe immob) the entire mob will get splattered all over the map (and into walls) Since you went ice epic you may as well try to hit 45% ish s/l defence, if you chase ranged as well you could possibly get there but it will be at the expense of recharge/damage/procs. Turn off rop and arcane bolt to see your actual numbers and recharge, arcane bolt with no accuracy slotted there's no guarantee it will hit let alone proc. I don't have exact numbers but i'm pretty sure your not hitting perma dom either without it.- 1 reply

Dark/Time/Force build help please, returning player
Meknomancer replied to RicoZaid's topic in Blaster
No fighting pool means when you get hit (and you will) you get hit hard. Its very simple to hit 45+ ranged defence. Look on /ah at the ranged/melee/ranged aoe sets that will fit your powers. Now look at the 'junk' sets and by junk i mean the ones that pretty much only offer ranged when 6 slotted and give 0 recharge or other useful bonuses like slow resist and go for next to nothing, like less than 1 mill/piece because they drop like candy and don't get used in many endgame builds. Now toss them into mids, 6 slotting attacks and you'll see you ranged def jump. Example: This is way more expensive, hits 40% ish smashing/lethal/energy defence and would need a t4 barier to stay at 45% but its dark blast so everyhtings doing - to hit anyway. I wouldn't recommend either build but its just to show the different ways you can build to hit different goals. It will all depend on your playstyle (do you like to hover blast at range or hop in and out of melee or just sit in melee. First build would be fairly safe in 90% of content, 2nd build would give you more flexibility. The problem is dark is pretty much purely for ranged play where /time is a great melee set for sitting up close and blapping. -
There are builds if your prepared to look. Theres 1 a few pages back.
-
Got my mids working again finally. Looking over the build i'm still not happy but i got in everyhting i wanted despite glue arrow being well short of the slots i wanted. Runs a t4 barrier so i just went for getting close to 45% ranged and try to hop away from melee as much as possible. Did originally have fly but i'm finding way too many enemy factions have fliers now that will get into melee and punch you and cj is just so much more mobility: This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.4.7 https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn WATER TA : Level 49 Magic Blaster Primary Power Set: Water Blast Secondary Power Set: Tactical Arrow Power Pool: Speed Power Pool: Leadership Power Pool: Fighting Power Pool: Leaping Ancillary Pool: Mu Mastery Hero Profile: ------------ Level 1: Aqua Bolt (A) Superior Defiant Barrage - My mids is acting up so i just had a quick look over. I run fire/water/archery with ta and the fire is easily my favourite but the water is pretty close despite the piddly st dmg it makes up for it in aoe. You did skip some awesome powers to hit the numbers. Ice arrow will be your best st dps if taken and procced out. Flash arrow gives almost 5% - to hit and only needs an acc/-to hit slotted, open with that and you could instantly drop 5% ranged or just go for a t4 barrier. I love glue arrow, it slots tons of goodies and more importantly slows stuff down when they try to run out of whirlpool/oil slick etc. If you throw out the 2 blessings in gymnastics you could toss 3 thunderstrikes in elec arrow, useful power especially on av's and the dps is surprisingly good. I hate the animation on hydro blast so i always take the tier 1 and that slots some extra - def or gets muled as my defiant barrage set. You have 0 to hit slotted, i'd find a way to throw in at least a kismet if your skipping tactics. Water/ta is a great combo, ta upshot and gymnastics already bump recharge and water burst and geyser used on mobs with ff+rech will give you more than enough that you don't really feel the need to chase recharge bonuses. The biggest problem with this combo is there's so many good powers what do you skip when you run out of slots. As the st damage is so bad on water you really want to build up the stacks or have tidal ready for double tapped water jet.
-
Have you tried using VS the way you did on live and just resummon it when and where you want it. And when your looking at above builds, look at what the 5th slot in zapp is giving. Much more important than any regen bonus. If you want to build in regen build towards hp and ignore the sets saying they give regen bonuses. They won't help. Hp helps. But you shouldn't bother with this either when building the blaster. Build for dps and kill stuff before it kills you. @Sir Myshkin slots a ton of procs in his builds that will bump dps massively. The way zapp is slotted with apoc set is just a small bonus in regen. Its the hp and recharge and damage buff that help more and the purple set gives better acc/rech/dmg than any other set. And theres an extra chance for dmg thrown in. Don't focus over much on regen and focus more on hitting def/res/dmg/recharge you'll get a better/more fun build. Green insps will top up hp when needed, if you sit there waiting for it to regen after taking a 60% hit you'll be waiting all day.

I made a 2nd fire/rad tanker on the 2nd account specifically for low level content allowing my squishies or toons that simply struggle low level like masterminds prior to their 2nd pet upgrade that can't solo av's to doorsit through tf's like Karsis/ Tarikoss/Silver Mantis/Yin etc so that when they are weekly's i can grab a couple of drops of the new currency. It murders stuff thanks to burn all minions/lieuts are instantly dead and i only have to use st attacks on bosses/av's. And thats before it hits levels where its also running irradiated ground. It can solo pretty much everything up to and including aeon so i can doorsit that and get a couple dsyncs. On the lower level content like croatoa its a beast. I'm pretty lazy so i just hop in mobs and target the boss with the tier 1 on auto and click burn occasionally and thats all i have to do, mobs melt. I do have a stone/rad tank and a rad/stone brute but they aren't the same without burn, its not even a contest how fast and easily you go through stuff with a fire armour tanker and the double damage auras mean you don't even have to watch whats happening, you can turn away, look back and theres just a single half beaten up boss to tap on.

I don't know if its cheap, it doesn't look that cheap but its possible with no purples/winter/At sets. Still needs a couple pvp pieces and you'd have to play actively it won't be much good afk.
