  2. Shockwave is fantastic, soft control and with an ff+rech and an overwhelming force in you can cycle it with howl and sirens song to shred mobs.
  3. All that and mu mastery? good luck. Mine runs mace for scorp sd but plays all melee, which is where you'll get the most benefit from conductive auras end drain. Elec doesnt play well outside of melee the other powers wont drain the mobs the way you'd like and conductive also bumps your regen, more enemies around you the higher your regen. Playing it aggressively works best by hopping right into the centre of everything and sleep/knockdown/hold/confuse/immob. Gremlins are a little extra dps, sadly they are also a pet that does kb when your jolting chain stacks with their hits and thats the last thing you want- stuff getting knocked away from your conductive aura. The pet from mace is also more useful (i find) and slots more goodies than the mu pet and mace gives pff as a panic button. Try posting the powers you want in a build and maybe someone will be able to put one together for you with the powers you want to play with, i just don't see how you'd get the defence numbers with procs and recharge in with mu. You'd probably have to give up something in order to fit in the others.
  4. Looks good. I'd still dump the 6th slot in shield charge, that little bit of psi def isn't doing anything for you and another dmg proc/ff+rech would probably be more useful.
  5. Running out of combos to try. Stalker wise elec/nrg is still no. 1 for 99% of stuff the shield charge on shield doesnt make up for the massive amount of extra slots/recharge/epics i can squeeze in on /nrg, only elec/bio came close. For the other 1% of gaming when your 1 on 1 with something it has to be energy melee with StJ a close 2nd. With /nrg. Bit sad really that 1 primary and 1 secondary are so far out in front of everything else but that doesnt mean other stuff isnt a lot of fun. Ice is a great primary, i did love it with /sd and /ice.

I don't number crunch or work out mathematically whats going on dps wise i just run the toons through content, turned out i had an old beam/bio and ice/bio too i totally forgot about and after playing them through some tf's i thought its time to play another AT for a bit. Chose an old blaster and found it was doing exactly the same thing in less than half the time of the sent, no surprise. What was surprising was it also did it with no insps/buffs/temps and wasn't dying even with the odd mez. I do agree with the point that everyone should be playing whatever they want whenever they want, thats the beauty of coh but if i turned up to a tf and there were 7 petless mastermind's i wouldn't have high hopes. Same goes for the advertised +4 itf's when 6 players turn up on non incarnates, and the 2 lvl 50's don't have anything slotted set or incarnate wise. And this does happen regularly (not the 7 peltless mm's) The harder difficulty levels aren't affecting the blappers/scrappers/melee toons as much as you'd think they simply reposition quickly outside of the patches/explosions and if you look at the builds now most of those blasters are running tp pool over sorcery. I'd love to see numbers but i'd probably fall asleep trying to make sense of them. And i have often seen tf's failed, although admittedly those are all lower levels ones when the leader sets a high rep, posi 1+2, Katie Hannon etc, when players are chasing xp. Too many people have opinions formed entirely around the endgame and their incarnate level toons and forget theres a whole game prior to it that most of the player base is running, i know your not one i've seen your +2/8 runs through TFC tf's and teamed with you a couple of times and duo'd a few with you back when you were on your 'testing every fire tank' runs. Not sure about the sentinels hovering, maybe i just team with the wrong crowd but i haven't seen many taking fly over speed and the majority of high end dps sentinels run psi and play in melee so they can throw in mind probe and psy shockwave with the nuke. Best def is to hover and play totally ranged but thats not how i see them being built. The higher difficulty settings do mean more damage is needed and the only way to get it on sentinels is to take procced out psi mastery. It will be interesting to see if the dev's start throwing in extra badges only available by completing tf's on relentless settings and see how many sentinels are accepted by teams then. I think team make up should matter, it did when the game was live for a while and it felt like a better game due to that.
  7. You skipped your best attack, Incinerator. Not sure if you need the melee bonuses for a pure ranged /hover build, the kinetic combat set in boxing is doing very little for you. Bio lives and often dies on recharge and you only have hasten 1 slotted. Turn on offensive adaptation to see your s/l resists in combat assuming you plan to run it for the extra damage. I'll be honest i've gone right off chucking winter sets at toons in the hope of fixing defenses just to hit fire/cold numbers which are pretty rare. If you dumped them all and just used 4 aegis pieces in hardened and tough you'd be sitting near 40% anyway. Mine hasn't been great i'm just about to respec into this and see how it goes. Its not exempting well without slug but for some reason disorienting seems to be higher dps and flamethrower is getting used as part of the low level attack chain vs single targets but it is great damage (for a sent) . Having to use the AT sets in burst and full auto is making me wonder if this is going to be any good as i'd normally proc out both if i can but i wanted the recharge bonuses more than anything else.   8. Thats odd, i'm exactly the opposite, i almost only solo with sents as they don't bring anything to teams and i find they make great merit collector/solo tf toons. I have psy, fire, elec, sonic, dp, and assault rifle /bio sents and i'm leaning towards the elec over the fire as the no. 1 purely for the end drain despite not taking psi as i did with the fire sent. Single target damage doesn't feel all that different even without procced dominate and a hefty mind probe or maybe its because with all the end drain i just don't get hit anywhere near as much. With any primary except elec i have to constantly reposition to avoid getting smacked a lot, where the elec can just sit there and blast away with impunity because i know the enemy will have to move away before i do when its blue bar vanishes. Your right about the immob not being awesome vs certain enemy types like council wolves/itf mobs but those that aren't get immob'd almost instantly, even a miss is irrelevant when its recharging that fast and the radius is that big. Not particularly looking forward to testing them out on Ice Mistral solo without the psi epic but i am curious to see if they can overcome the final av's heal without insps/temps as theres a lot of toons i gave up on simply because they couldn't put out sufficient dps to overcome his heal but i feel like the elec will have a good chance and i'll be happy if it can pull the sf off in under 35 min as that'd put it up there with my scrappers and brutes and a couple rad and bio tankers. Still not entirely convinced sentinel single target damage is that bad, tier 1 minor damage but the other attacks feel like heavy hitters in the attack chain and i'm really impressed with whats been done with screech, tesla cage, zapping bolt, blazing blast, incinerator and suppressive fire.
  9. I don't play many savage toons precisely because Hemorrhage is so bad. They all run maiming slash/savage strike/vicious slash (with an ff+rech in) for single targets with rending flurry and savage leap for mobs. Single target attack chain is plenty dps, enemy looks like its not taking a scratch and then just evaporates. Its not a set like ss where you hit something with ko blow and it vanishes, you need to be able to take some hits. Haven't tried it with shield but its great with /bio and /stone.
  10. Basically yes, otherwise you'd be wasting slots unless you need the bonuses like a couple of preventetives for some s/ resist. More hit points is better than having the extra heal/regen slotting health gets you which is why a few heal pieces in true grit are more beneficial.

I haven't seen any complaints about certain sent combo's such as fire/bio, dp/nin, dp/sr, fire/rad, dark/??? , i suspect the problem is the same as it is with blasters, sonic isn't a great aoe set, does worse debuffs on sent/blaster than fender/corr and has almost nowhere to slot procs to bump its already mediocre output and sr as a secondary isn't helping. I have a sonic/sr sent and of the 50-60 sents i've played i'd rate it as the 2nd lowest dps with only the dark/dark below it. I wouldn't even consider it for hard mode stuff. When they introduced the new settings on aeon and i was testing vs relentless mobs both sonic as a primary and sr as a secondary fared extremely poorly. I like the combo but i don't see the upcoming changes making an already bad combo worse as its already about as bad as it gets. So they drop the aoe from 10 targets to 6? I wouldn't even have noticed as the cones i cycle, shockwave and howl are probably only hitting that many anyway. mobs are spread out, range isn't fantastic and i have to keep repositioning just to hit 4-5 at once. Sents are best played in melee, its like they were designed that way, same as any melee toon you'd want to herd mobs nuke everything up close then aoe/pbaoe , cones don't have that option and the vast majority of sents i see played are being played at range and are built that way, with a bunch of thunderstrike and artillery sets thrown in and no attempt to build up resists/melee/s-l/aoe def. I'd love to see these blaster builds that can come anywhere close to getting sent def/resist just from the fighting pool/leadership/sorcery/patron/epic pool. So many of the secondaries are awesome, invul, rad, energy, bio, electric. Built in heals/resists/ddr/def.....how can a blaster compare. The ones i've seen murdering their way through stuff are all running survival and offensive amplifiers and clicking insps like theres no tomorrow because a single mez and they face plant and they ususally have to hit up the base first to craft all the assists they can get. Its a simple tradeoff. If sents do damage to match blasters then whats the point of a blaster. You need the differences in target caps and damage to differentiate them. Sents are just a weird AT but i'm glad we have them. I'd like to see other odd AT's introduced. A stone/kinetics tank combo with 0 offensive capablilities is on my wishlist. I don't want everything in the game to be OP and capable of soloing +4 tf's at 50 which is why the incessant bumps to the tank At annoy me. So sents are getting a small downgrade. Thats a good sign, i hope to see more stuff like that applied to other Ats. Who knows, maybe this is just a test on one of the lesser used AT's to see how players respond before they do the same to others.
  14. I don't see the issue, you have the laziest AT in the game, its durable right out the box and has mez protection and you can just pew pew away with no clickies. Its the perfect AT for new players or players with 0 inf to throw at toons or players who don't want to bother with working out how the set system works or spend time in mids tinkering. They can just take hover and blast stuff from range and have fun with the game. You can't expect the AT to compare to any of the others in terms of damage or buffs/debuffs its got a blast set and what is essentially scrapper defence/resists. I like them as they are, i never have to worry about getting mezzed and i can switch my brain off completely when playing them. So they don't kill stuff fast, lots of combos don't. Aren't sentinels supposed to be Mr. Average?
  15. All that matters is perma PA, fade and soul absorption. The heal works better with some accuracy slotted and if you toss in 4 cloud senses and a couple nictus you'll get accuracy/heal and enhance the - to hit as well as getting a recharge bonus. Without the fighting pool you'll be struggling to keep the recharge and get the melee and aoe defenses up but from playing these are irrelevant as is having any heal sets slotted in soul absorption as a single click of the heal will always top you up, so i find ranged defense covers pretty much everything. I also skipped fighting on both my live builds and HC ones. Having tried sorcery i found it hit and miss, rune is handy at times especially when exempting but the downtime is massive. I usually take clarion anyway for high end stuff but mez hasn't been much of an issue as PA are the targets of most enemy attacks and you just need to position yourself well to avoid it. I still run soul for both thematic reasons and because i prefer having that extra pet and the soul shield is better than the fire version. Dark oblit/fireball i see very little difference in which is taken with the exception that you have more proc options with oblit. If i toss soul epics out and replace them with fire and rune it'd look something like this, but i am considering throwing in fighting pool over sorcery just to bump my resists: (Mystic Flight should   19. If you took the reactive piece in hover and tossed it into weave you'd get a lil more hp.
  20. Do you like fire breath? SR is one of those sets you can just literally throw in any enhances almost at random and get decent def numbers. I try to squeeze in elude more often now, theres been a lot of times (especially on the last fight of lrsf) where its been the only thing keeping me standing, although i have been 1 shotted through it a few times as well due to slotting the same way you went, max recharge over resists, i always throw in hasten though. Anyway random build using roughly the powers you picked doesn't require link minds but its there anyway and random junk thrown in flares and dominate. I like psy shockwave but i left breath in there anyway, fire blast maybe a better choice if exempting. Not sure how much benefit your getting from some of the 6th set pieces offering toxic/psi resist. 2nd slot in phalanx isn't doing anything for you except when you team up and even then i doubt its worth it. I prefer true grit with a few heal pieces for hit points. I don't like havoc punch much but it is handy when exempting down. You could sacrifice some def for a bump in recharge i'm not sure what the aim is though, you'd want a lot higher numbers for solo itrial stuff, somewhere in the region of 58% if you ever plan on running off solo. I'll be the first to admit i'm not great with shield builds and elec/sd brute was one of only 3-4 toons i deleted on live, scrapper version was ok, stalker makes both look bad.
