  1. *looks at avatar space* Looks like I might have to do something about that...eventually.
  2. I had no problems punching that monkey in the face. I gave WoW a try for a month, to help out a couple of friends that play it. Could not get into it. Uninstalled it and never looked back.
  3. Looking at the detailed information on the Fly power, you have 3 buffs and one debuff. Everything but one of the buffs is not affected by other buffs or bebuffs, and all 4 of them are unresistable. That is what you're seeing in the combat powers display. Also, I believe that you'll reach your fly cap with out any +fly speed enhancements. I know my level 28 Blaster is capped with no enhancements in the power. And, the speed caps for all the modes of travel, except for Teleport, increase a little for each level gained. So, level 1 characters fly a lot slower than level 50 characters just because the speed cap is lower for level 1s.
  4. What are you talking about? Controller can have from 1 to 7 pets at level 1. 😀
  5. I tend to get that a lot in Talos. I know you're a level 20 Controller. But, we want you to go to the island that is the farthest north on the map. You know the one that is infested with level 28 CoT and DE? In PI, I've had three consecutive missions use the same Portal Corps door.
  6. What I find interesting is that I use the number pad for movement in CoH, STO, I belive SWTOR, I use the wasd for directional movement and the mouse for looking around, in games like Skyrim and AvG. if I have a game pad available, I use the d-pad on it for directional movement and the mouse for looking around. Unfortunately, my game pad's forward direction on the d-pad is wearing out, so the game pad is very unreliable when playing games like Skyrim. I have tried to use the game pad with CoH, but it was odd and kept throughing me off. So, I just stick with the number pad for movement in CoH.
  7. I guess I got a round-about compliment once, while on my Grav/Time Controller, when one of the two people I regularly team with (a Mace/Electric Brute) said, "Hey, Splish splash didn't die this time!" Splish splash is her nickname for Agent Heavy Water, the Water/Rad Blaster that was the other person I team with. We tend to run missions set on +0/x8. Since I never know which characters they'll actually pick. Sometimes, I'm running with 2 blasters, other times it a Corruptor and a Blaster. occasionally, a Brute and a Blaster. I have noticed a few times, especially when it's the 2 blasters with my Controller, that I'm the one taking the Alpha and holding a lot of the Aggro. That might have something to do with the amount of AoE controls and debuffs that I can toss out. When did the Controller become the tank?
  8. Back when CoH was live, I played it and Star Trek Online. Those were the only MMOs that I played on a regular basis. I've tried several others, TSW, WoW, DnD Online, CO, DC Online, ESO. None of them really meshed with me. I also reconfigure my keybinds to use either the arrow keys or the number pad for movement. Usually its the number pad. Although, I used to use a Nostromo gamepad, so I didn't really have to monkey with the keybinds all that much. And voice attack really helped with STO. I never could get it to work well with CoH though.
  9. When comparing the amount of fun I have in different combat systems, CoH, and games with combat systems anything like it, rank far from last for a reason. Blocking and dodging are fine mechanics for FPS games, not for MMORPGs. That is, of course, my opinion.
  10. The cake is a lie. Please try Pie.
  11. You forgot to suggest a few other power pools sets to make inherent as well. Good job though. 🙂
  12. 25% Defense and 50% Damage resistance would both reduce incoming damage about the same amount over an extended period of time. One does so on a consistent basis, while the other would do so in spurts. It doesn't surprise me that soft capping Defense would be easier than soft capping Resistance. Since, it's a lot easier to have your Defense floored by fighting the right (or wrong) foes. I think next time I hear someone suggest that any power pool set (or specific powers) be made inherent, I'll make a counter suggestion to have every power pool set (including the Epics) be made inherent. Since that is what will inevitably be suggested. It'll just happen piecemeal over a longer period of time. Why wait that long?
  13. What ratio is there between npc foes that have -def and those that have -res? I'm just asking because might that have a tiny little bit to do with the issue?
  14. you forgot the wibley-wobley in there.
  15. In your opinion. I have absolutely zero issues with CoH not having a blocking mechanic.
  16. In the brief time that I played CO, I never ever used block. Fortunately, CoH doesn't need a mechanic like that and should never have a mechanic like that. That is what Defense is for. To be honest, I never used a shield to block attacks in Skyrim either. I just used a shield as an elemental resistance mule, if I had a shield at all.
  17. Where are you getting your statistics?
  18. You could do that, or have a starter bind of /bind f "bindloadfile flyon.txt" Or, I believe a simple /bindloadfile flyon.txt would work as well. I haven't tested that, but I think it would work just as easily.
  19. You'll need two files, say, Flyon.txt and flyoff.txt Flyon.txt should contain: f "cce 2 CCPureEnergy$$powexec_toggleon fly$$bind_load_file flyoff.txt" Flyoff.txt should contain: f "cce 3 CCPureEnergy$$powexec_toggleoff fly$$bind_load_file flyon.txt" There might be some minor typographical errors, but I believe that is how it should look. Toggleon and toggle off will do just what they say. toggle a toggle power on or off.
  20. On live, the Jerk-hackers had been reverse hack-jerked by the Devs at one point. This might be how it begins....again.
  21. Funny you should say that. I made a character with that exact concept in mind. I will say that it is rather difficult to leverage the Kinetics powers for the Robots. But, I made Buffbot a Bots/Kin MM. She (it) is in the upper 30's at the moment. I got distracted by my Controller... Speaking of my Controller. She's a Grav/Time Controller. A couple of hard hitting attacks, and enough holds to make a hippie happy. Not to mention the other buffs and de-buffs brought to the table. as well as the heals. That can be a pretty busy build.
  22. Since my desktop crashed (hard) about a year ago, I've been using my 8 year old laptop to play. Although, my desktop is actually older than my laptop by a few years. The Desktop has a SSD the laptop doesn't. Unfortunately, the graphics card on the desktop bit the dust too. In order to use the desktop again, I need to do a lot of downloads. Unfortunately, I don't have a reliable high-speed internet connection. I attribute any load screen issues with my crappy internet connection that I get by using my phone as a wifi hotspot.
  23. Hmmm. Monitor Duty. Mastermind. Probably Demon Summoning..and not really sure what secondary to use. You're the hall monitor for Angelo's school of demonic arts taking the kiddies out on a field trip. Badge Suggestion: Jailbird (I actually have a character that uses this one)
