It could also supposed to have been "Seriously, are we the Hellions?" Makes more sense to me that way.

Back on live, I had an Illusion/Force Field Controller that could Tank and Scrap as well as manage crowd control. I dubbed him a Conscranker.

Strongest Matched/Thematic Character....
Twisted Toon replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in General Discussion
I have a Grav/Time Controller that seems to have pretty solid crowd control. 3.5 holds, a couple of immobs, slows, heals, +end, +recharge, recovery. Not to mention pool tables and cars. If we're going thematically, then I guess Black Holes are gravity wells that warp space and time, so... -
Some Archetype observations and thinking
Twisted Toon replied to PartyKake's topic in General Discussion
My thoughts on a CoH 2 would be more along the lines of a modular design for character creation. You's start with a baseline. Each AT would add different bonuses and drawbacks to the baseline making them similar, in effect, to what they are now. Then, you'd pick Primary and Secondary power-sets. From pretty much the entire list of set across all current ATs. Which will gain buffs and de-buffs based off the AT that was chosen. Yes, that means you could have an Electric Armor/Electric Blast Tank, a Dark Melee/Force Field Blaster, a Mind-control/Ninja Training Brute, etc. The thing that separates the ATs from each other is the inherent bonuses and power-set buffs/de-buffs that come with the ATs themselves. This would reduce the "duplication" of power-sets, making it easier to actually balance them among themselves. While, at the same time, making it easier to balance the ATs among themselves. Because there wouldn't be a Tanker Dark Melee power-set, a Scrapper Dark Melee power-set and a Brute Dark Melee set. Really about the only issue I see as a real problem child, would be the Stalkers. Since they have an Assassin Strike power in their sets and no one else does. Although, I could see the Snipe subbing for that with the Ranged Combat power-sets. Not to say that there wouldn't be other issues...some would probably use the self gimping by getting an Armor and Buff combo as an issue. Of course, I didn't really get in depth with the theoretical design for this...was just a thought back during issue 6 or 7. I'm sure Arcanaville could find loads of problems with it. (then come up with solutions to those problems, most likely.) -
I was just telling you what he told me when I had referenced that it was based off of Champions while asking him a question once. He was rather forceful with his denial as well. But, as I said, take that with a block of salt. A grain of salt just won't be enough.

According to Jack, he didn't. (take that with a block of salt, though)

Currently, my Grav/Time controller has all the powers that accept hold sets 4 slotted with Basilisk's Gaze for the 7.5% recharge. I did use all the hold duration enhancements in those sets I could. Distortion field, does have a chance of hold in it. So that's some help as well. From what I can tell, Singularity doesn't take Hold sets. Otherwise, I'd have put Basilisk's Gaze in there for a 5th 7.5% Recharge. So, I have 3.5 holds, not counting the Singularity. I will say that I haven't spec'd this build out for AV huggles. If I did, All my holds would be 6 slotted for hold and recharge, instead of just 4 slotted. However, with the amount of recharge I have at the moment, I can drop both ST holds and still manage another power or two in there as well. Like, Time Crawl, which has -regen. Granted, I seriously doubt that I'd be able to take down an AV all by my lonesome. At best, I think we'd come to a stand-off. If I can survive the initial stacking of holds to overpower the protection they have.

Generally, when someone says something along the lines of "this should be relatively easy" with regards to programming, the assumption that that person doesn't know much about programming is usually correct. So, having a background in programming, you should have known better. Especially with regards to the spaghetti code that is CoH.

Even if it was possible, there's the exploitation aspect to look at. By that I mean, a player grabs a powerset combo that is awesome at lower levels. plays it up to where a different powerset combo starts to shine near the end game. Not the way things were intended to go. I certainly wouldn't create a game with such an exploit in it.

I'm not sure that Grav's Immobs have -KB. I know the Holds do. I'll have to test this and make sure, but it seems to me that the Immobs didn't keep the enemy from flying back when hit by Propel. I could be misremembering though. It's frustrating that the /time holds for controllers doesn't have -KB. Also, doesn't have the impact mechanic that Grav gets either.

Could a Grav/Time Controller hold an AV solo?
-
Agent Dispatch will tell his band of Mercs to deal with the problem. Agent Legacy will hold him (and his entire posse) in a gravity well and tosses lamps, chairs, insulation and Cadillacs at him while explaining why he's been a bad boy (or girl, if that's the case). Searing Rose will show him that when her temper burns, so does he. Jade Geode will just show him the error of his ways...with a jade mallet to the face. Agent Flora will just let him feed her plants.

Then, why did you use those words? 😁

What are your "ignore" habits and why?
Twisted Toon replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion
I have seen Knockback take enemies out of the equation for far longer than just a few seconds. An enemy that is knocked back will always take longer to get up than an enemy that was just knocked down. Because there's the distance that they traveled while being knocked back to take into account as well. Not to mention getting snagged on the environment in the process. Which, is something that really can't happen when an enemy is just knocked down. I regularly team with players that use Melee. My characters with KB never start the fight. They also use positioning to slam the enemy against the wall or other objects that the Tank (or brute) has drawn the enemy to. If you're playing a melee character and having problems with another player on your team knocking things away from you. Look at where you're fighting the enemy and maybe, just maybe, change locations. Fighting in the middle of a room away from all obstacles isn't the best place to be. Also, politely ,inform the KB character to position themselves to take advantage of the obstacles that should be nearby. -
I have a Grav/Time Controller that doesn't feel bad. Of course, you get almost double the crowd control...along with some buffs and debuffs.

CoT have mobs that do every type of damage. with the possible exception of toxic.

What are your "ignore" habits and why?
Twisted Toon replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion
Agent Knockback 47 approves this message. Kelika2: Please, Please, PLEASE put me on your in-game ignore list. Otherwise, I'd have to demonstrate just what griefing with KB actually is. After which, you'd be ecstatic over the occasional single baddy knocked back. Or, you'd have a total mental meltdown. take your pick. -
How would you build humanoid Hamidon?
Twisted Toon replied to Menelruin's topic in General Discussion
I would probably go either Plant/Earth Domi or Earth Thorns Domi. Either one would get you aspects of both the plants and the rocks that the DE usually throw at you. I suppose, you could go Water or Radiation and maybe Radiation or Empathy for a Defender/Corrupter. -
I think the issue with that it that they don't use the same powers that we do. for example, their Moment of Glory has vastly different numbers than ours does. (I'm looking at you Paragon Protectors) And some mobs have powers that we can't even get. I believe Ghostwidow would be a good example of that.

They made some good music. Cut them some slack...

Back in the day, I had an AR/Dev Blaster that explained away the disappearing weapons with a pocket dimension. She'd reach over her shoulder and pull a Frankenrifle out of the pocket dimension.
-
Very true. Intelligent use of Knockback can help position the mobs near the Tanks/Brutes/Scrappers/Stalkers. That being said, Tornado is a difficult power to control the KB.
-
Change Storm summoning to FF and you'd meet Agent Knockback.

We have all reached a special milestone as of Nov. 30th 2019

I was playing on Infinity with the rest of the group I normally played with. Agent Standin was battling Freakshow in one of the Portal Corp missions when the server went down. -
Changing your mind-set is one of the hardest things to do...Especially the older you get.
