@Blackshear Just saying, but that's a wealth to read. Thank you.

*dusts off their hands.* Alright, so let me explain a few things on this topic. Just like humans, not all dragons are the same. The same thing can be said about fae, fallen gods, what have you. How the players represent those characters they created is up to them, but I tend to lean on a very limited aspect for my dragons, the same with my elves, angelics, demonics, whatever I happen to be playing. I don't believe in playing overpowered characters, in fact I do my best to avoid going that route because it is in fact the most boring, poorly written and least dimensional style of play I've ever seen/and yes, played at some point in my younger years as a teen. Just because a character is a dragon/fae/god/demon/angelic, doesn't make them all powerful in anyway. And if you take the time to really talk to the characters players, you might actually discover this for yourself. I have zero problem proving this point, I do it every time I login and play with pretty much anyone that I get along with and feel like rping with. If this troubles you, that someone else chooses to play something other than plain jane humans, then maybe it's not us you need to be really analyzing thoughts and opinions of. Maybe the issue is there is a lot of creative people here, and every one of them find enjoyment playing pretend with a game world full of other people doing the same thing. *reviews the post and nods.* I see no problem with it, if a character is too powerful, or states to be godlike in power strength, maybe it's time to ask them why, rather than cornering all of the other players doing their own thing, enjoying their own stories, into your category here of "OP" characters.

The Welcome Wagon for new roleplayers, and old!
Crystal Dragon replied to Crystal Dragon's topic in Roleplaying
This weekends classes are canceled, however mentors and regulars are welcome to attend the City of Roleplay recruitment fair for SG's and VG's of the server. This is a prime opportunity to meet and greet many of the roleplaying leaders of Everlasting's community and we'll be there to help answer questions about groups and roleplaying as well during the fair! For further information: Check this thread! -
Ye, that's not a bad idea either. Something like this maybe?

Mapserver Madness! (Four-One 2022 Invasion Event)

I think the best part of this was seeing the cop cars driving up and knocking people into the air, that made my absolute weekend. Thank you so much for all the hard work on this. -
Mapserver Madness! (Four-One 2022 Invasion Event)
Crystal Dragon replied to Cobalt Arachne's topic in Events & Contests
Like all combat/xp rewards, it's shared per team whilst in a league. This is the reason why MSR leaders encourage everyone to participate and be active so we can all reap the most out of each run. It's similar to this with the Mapserv events. -
That's actually a really good idea. Maybe attached to the "Hide" function as well so streamers don't have to deal with messages while streaming from fellow players? Not to say it's a block, just that some don't like having private tells visible on streams, and I know some streamers don't hide the chat windows from visibility. Not to say you do or don't, just a suggestion to add to this status feature.

I have to admit, his reaction is what made this so worth holding my tongue over. Happy April Fool's Spazzy, we love ya bud. -

Thank you, I'm doing what I can, having to cut back a lot of the stress elevating activities to try and give myself the break I very much need. -
The Welcome Wagon for new roleplayers, and old!
Crystal Dragon replied to Crystal Dragon's topic in Roleplaying
Following some recent health issues, I need to put my life and health in first priority over fostering a better community. It's with concern for my own wellbeing that I need to resign as a class host to focus on the back curtain work within the Welcome Wagons project. We are still accepting new mentors interested in joining the project, and @McSpazz has invested an incredible amount of time and effort to put forward as much information as we share during these live in-game classes each weekend we've hosted since July. I would like to request the community leaders to please put forth the best efforts to stay in touch with each other, and talk things over in regards to working together to keep the community safe and thriving both for all players new and old. I would like to thank @Grey-Ghost @Greycat @Wylde Fyre @Shadeknight and @GM Kal for giving me this opportunity to create something both educational and helpful for the community itself and allowing the leaders of the community to have a hand on shaping how these classes took form over the last year. Thus, I will be working strictly with organizing and tending to the content the lesson planner covers, as well as working with interested mentors to help open up the classes to cover a more broad access schedule in the future. I was never given the chance to actually teach anything in my life time, and this had given me a taste of what it's like in a way I had never expected. I met so many wonderful people in the community through these classes both in structuring the format, but also in speaking from personal experiences that taught us all unique lessons about roleplaying that we share in these classes every session I hosted, and assisted with McSpazz's own lesson nights. I know it doesn't sound like much, but this changed my life, and my perceptions on how to teach and given me a window into what it's like to handle lesson planners, scheduling, and problem solving along the way. I hope to simply keep the community on the same page with both lesson content and allowing players that are new or simply joining to refresh their knowledge base, and allow these classes to remain a safe nonjudgmental space for all to discuss the subject as a whole rather than in parts as we have in the last year. Mcspazz's compiled "overly long discussions" of roleplaying. -
I am SORELY tempted to write it myself in entirely hyperbolic. xD Adding to this: I do plan to sit down and work out a basic guide for Dungeon Mastering (tm) or Narrating without imposing on the players permissions and agency. I'd been neglecting this subject, my apologies for that to the community and to you Spazzy.

Discord suffered a major outage today at about 9 something this morning, eastern time. I'm watching for it to come back up, but far as things seem to be, it could be another few hours before there's an update on the status page. https://discordstatus.com/?utm_source=zendesk&utm_medium=integrations&utm_campaign=guide

Hahah I know what you mean there! It's tough to pull that off with tankers, melee or ranged, but healers? Yeeeah, always fun to toss out a flirty comment now and then mending someones booboos. xD -
