  1. It will be very endurance hungry. There are plenty of ways to offset that with Numina's +Regen/Rec, Performance Shifter +End, Miracle +Recovery and Panacea +HP/End.
  2. I believe the soft-cap refers to all mobs having at least a 5% chance to hit you. An even level minion has a 50% to-hit, hence 45% "soft-cap" reducing that mobs' chance to hit you to 5%. In that scenario, whether you have 45% defense or 450% defense the same mob has a 5% chance to hit you. Once you take into account a mobs' toHit buffs, defense debuffs, tier of mob, etc ... you generally want anywhere from 5-10% above the soft cap (i.e. 50-55%) defense if defense is your primary form of damage mitigation. Overachievers (such as myself) aim for incarnate level defenses which would be around 59% total defense (at least that's the number where I feel comfortable). Hope this helped.
  3. Yeah I generally put this in my build-up power for double build-up.
  4. I've found trying to control mobs through -END / -REC to be fruitless by and large. Elec Armor (Power Sink) gets away with it because a fully slotted PS can floor a mobs' endurance, causing their toggles to drop and killing off their bigger abilities. But it's more gravy on a great power than something that can be used as a reliable soft control in my experience.
  5. DA KRUUNCHARZ IZ BAK!
  6. Yes with Incarnate bonuses. You can reach around 50% melee/ranged without. Not sure what is sacrificed though? (I'll upload the build when I get back to my non-Mac (/rude)).
  7. Also look at the Ghost Widow patron pool. Darkest Night (and Dark Obliteration) helps offset defensive cascade failure (also a great pulling tool).
  8. Kruunch checking in. Nice to see some old(er) faces. Also on Excelsior now.
  9. Electric Armor means not having to slot Stamina, or take Conserve Power or Physical Perfection. The reason for this is the power you 3 slotted (Power Sink).
  10. That's what they're talking about.
  11. Agree ... both are good sets and play similarly, but Rad is a tad less fiddly which I would think would be important when paired with TW.
  12. 3 end, 3 recharge = always full endurance bar and enemies with no toggles. P.S. - laughing at Sappers/Carnies/Super Stunners is sheer bliss.
  13. Agility/Ionic/Diamagnetic (but build to taste and any regular group you run with)/Barrier (for perma-Barrier)/Cimerorans/Assault **EDIT** For Alpha, honorable mentions for Spiritual, Cardiac and Vigor.
  14. No reason to take it, if there's no reason to take it.
  15. I always loved the "How the HELL did you survive THAT?" I'd get from teammates. "Hey guys when you get back, be careful ... I pulled some more." "I was so lonely." Silly teammates, alphas are for Tankers!
  16. If you're going to layer in resists you want to concentrate on S/L as they are your largest base and are the most common forms of damage in the game.
  17. That end consumption is way too high. Slot your toggles with one endRedux each (except Combat Jumping which doesn't need it). That should knock you down to around ~1.4%/sec end consumption which is closer to where it should be.
  18. Also true. Still, I can't imagine a scenario where Anything/Willpower could have endurance issues. Even titan weapons with willpower never needs to pop a blue, it's one of the most endurance efficient secondaries. I think the OP is missing Quick Recovery. This. Get your end recovery powers straightened out first. WP should never need endurance help.
  19. I think that only applies to the defense benefit portion you get from nearby allies but I'd have to check in-game to be sure (unfortunately not near my comp atm).
  20. So I'm playing around with the idea of making the tankiest Brute I can (hence Dark) while running double damage auras for 75%+ Fury bar (as in the elusive 80-100% Fury bar). Any advice here on achieving that (besides the amazing amount of Endurance management needed)?
  21. PF gives you a base 3.75% defense. So 3-slotted PF should give you around ~6%. Your call if that's worthwhile or not (I have it slotted on my Elec/SD Scrapper but I aim for 59% defense as my personal soft cap (for debuffs and doing +4/+8s)).

  24. Yes I'm the original Kruunch, and I'm sorry you feeled slighted (wasn't my intent). I can tell you're excited about your build and you should be, it's a fine build. However I took the OP to to be asking from a "I want to roll a new Tanker" standpoint, which is what I was gearing my answer towards.
  25. I know right. Can you believe you can only hold 2 billion inf on each character and can only email 999,999,999 inf at a time. It is such a pain in the ass. Crap I better start buying some stuff.
