  1. Boy oh boy, I was hoping for a few interesting ideas, but y'all have some great imaginations! I'm liking what I'm seeing. 😎
  2. Marvel's What If...? launches in mere hours on Disney+, telling tales of what would happen if the established MCU storyline played out differently somehow in endless alternate timelines. CoH does have something like this via Portal Corp, especially the Praetorian universe, but just for fun, what would you think might make an interesting twist on the official CoH lore? All I ask is that you keep it focused on the CoH/CoV universe. No "What if Synapse met the Flash and Quicksilver?"
  3. Just last week I was watching a SWTOR player in action, and was reminded of one of the things I absolutely hated in the game: ridiculously long travel everywhere. It does reinforce the QoL that Homecoming has brought to the game's travel.
  4. Correct me if I am wrong, but COH began in 2004, did it not? ( I joined during the first winter event around January 2005) This promotional video (earliest one?) Ends stating "summer 2002". Anyone know the story behind the delay? Also, neat to see the early character designer, and I am always fascinated by the potential in the gangs we never got to see.
  5. It's one of the reasons I've done very little UI customization.
  6. It's a fair point. Perhaps I should have added some qualifier like "first picks to build" or such.
  7. I admit I'd not considered that, probably because I see it as redundant to group teleport or ATT.
  8. There may be a bit of guessing here, and I'm aware that archetype influences decision, but what are likely the most picked and least picked powers in each of the six Incarnate slots: Alpha, Judgement, Interface, Lore, Destiny, and Hybrid? For example, I almost always pick Rebirth with Destiny. To me it just makes sense to have an emergency heal in a tough fight. Incandescent, however, just baffles me, so I never use it. Why would I want group teleport tacked on with all those other pluses?
  9. I probably see more Banished Pantheon lore pets in action than anything else, and indeed, I build these for my 50's. I'd like to hear from those who chose other pets instead. What did you choose and why did you choose it? Was it a concept decision or a combat decision? Do you make several, either spread over multiple 50 characters, or several on one character so that you can select before each mission? Think of this as if you're trying to show me (and others) a strong reason to have another choice other than a Banished Pantheon pet.
  10. I wish that, too. I'd even be willing to pay a fee at the tailor or P2W or whatever to have that customization per power. However, once someone pointed out to me that there's another power set heavily tuned to knock down (I forget which power set) in the same way Energy is heavily tuned to knock back and Electrical is tuned to endurance drain, I realized there's a diminished chance of that happening. It's a shame really, as it means we Energy users have to reserve one slot out of six for an enhancement to redirect the fall, rather than building out a full six-slot purple or orange set.
  11. You're asking for a bit of spoilers here, but I'll keep it to a minimum. The villain/red side area, known as the Rogue Islands, is part of the Prime universe of COH. In the Prime world, the Rogue Islands are their own sovereignty and sit in the Atlantic southeast of Rhode Island and Paragon City. There's actually many alternate worlds in City of Heroes. Most of these are one-off missions accessed through...well...the storylines will reveal the various means. I will point out however, that some of those alternates can be accessed easily via the spinning gold disks protected by certain sentinels standing next to the foot of certain elevated train stations. But what you're most likely referencing is the Praetorian universe. As players can start new characters there, it is referred to as the "gold side" of the game. Praetoria has its own city, zones, missions, and storyline. As the blue and red sides progress, opportunities will open to cross universes and participate in Praetorian stories. Likewise, gold side players will eventually be able to access the Prime universe as their characters progress. EDIT: I will point out that there is one out-of-this-world place you should be able to access immediately: Pocket D - a large nightclub/ski resort/architect holosuite zone you can access through various means. It is essentially a pocket dimension anchored to both the Prime and Praetorian universes via certain dimensional doors. If you're on the blue side, try going to Kings Row, find the service truck a bit west of the central north-south road, and open the back doors to hop through. There should be Pocket D posters on or near it.
  12. Wait...how does that work? Are the Shivan "forerunners" in the sense that they are advanced scouts and under the control of the Battalion? Or are the Shivan "forerunners" because they're fleeing from the Battalion and raiding anything in their path of flight (presumably for resources and such)?
  13. Your comments on the Rikti stirred an old, old memory. I think I remember it because of how bizarre I found the concept at the time. Whether its accurate (canon) or not I've no idea.
  14. Same here. Totally loving this!
  15. Make it with sweet red peppers instead of tomatoes (or perhaps used sundried tomato), and I'll definitely try it. Unfortunately, I'm one of the roughly 20% of the population who gag on fresh tomato, and that extends far beyond pizza. Ironically, I don't gag on pineapple pizza, but it brings me no pleasure either.
  16. Some of the water cooler talk at work about this last month suggested the situation was resolved around shutting down the printing operation and converting everything to digital. So did that not happen? Or is it still going to happen?
  17. I've never heard the audiobook. Didn't even previously know that it existed.
  18. Fruit that identifies as veggies? Peppers, fine. (though I'd stress moderation on jalapenos) pizza sauce, fine. Sundried tomato, fine. Fresh tomato, zucchini, eggplant...😝🤢🤮
  19. I'd probably rejoin Star Wars: The Old Republic if a guild like that started up there!
  20. I'll glance at it. I'm not a huge fan of anime, but I might find it interesting. At this time I find the decade old show The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes to be the most interesting of the Avengers animations.
  21. The problem is...who issued the promise? 😈 Please make sure they use the Ferengi Tooth Sharpener before they head out. No fruit, unless it is a purely dessert pizza. Now peanut butter...that is a pizza topping worth trying. Surprisingly good. I got through many a classic, cheap school cafeteria pizza using peanut butter. Rats, now I'm craving this and the local pizza parlor just closed.
  22. I'm all for disaster rescues. It's interesting you bring that up. Marvel Cinematic Universe has stated that with the recent The Falcon & The Winter Soldier miniseries that they began to look into a new role for superheroes, one more tuned to first responders than to warriors. I would add that any version of super speed should have electrostatic adhesion to vertical surfaces. Should be better than our current super speed which cannot go up buildings and other walls. Fishing? Well if we get f..f...*cough*...fishing in this theoretical from-scratch game, I'd suggest adding several other mini-games common to a big city, like pool in pool halls. Might be good for undercover work. Or chess in the park. HEAR HEAR! I frequently quote from that list. And make sure all architectural designs for said bases are run past a 5-year-old child. Any flaws he finds should be immediately addressed before building. The first line sounds like a Bioware MMO, which I'm cool with. The second line reminds me of the control point forts in the late, lamented Tabula Rasa MMO. Loved taking and holding those forts to do the mission chains that opened up with the victory. AS TO WHAT I MIGHT LIKE TO SEE: 1. The aforementioned wall running adhesion for speedsters. 2. A big city that is richer in look and feel. There should be ethnic communities like Little China, Little Italy, Czech Town, etc. I want to see multi-generational architecture, and shops that are more numerous in variety and with many more that you can enter. 3. Vendors more rooted in city life. I want to get my 1-hour endurance buzz from a barista in the overpriced Dunkin' Bucks coffee shop, a 1-hour hit point boost by getting a pierogi from a cart vendor on a corner, and get my temporary grappling hook by trading in a day job coupon at the register at the Paragon Harbor Freight store, rather than some spandex-clad dude or dame or small furry creature from Alpha Centauri standing beneath a statue somewhere. 4. Building interiors that make logical sense. 5. Dynamic street gangs. No more standing around while the hero deals with another mob in visual range. More movement altogether. 6. Destroyable terrain, trees, etc. Obviously, they'll need to be reset at some point for the next player, but it might be interesting to have to deal with an altered terrain for a bit.
  23. Might make a good costume suggestion for a non-usable back item, or a suggestion for a temporary weapon, perhaps tied to a new day job of some sort, possibly involving water, boats, or docks.
  24. I see what you did there. 🤣
  25. Cardinal red robes perhaps?
