Uphill, both ways, causing a snowstorm...and we liked it! The golden days of tanking an entire level or neighborhood, then running around the corner to literally dumpster dive while the range strikers made mincemeat of swarms of opponents. The halcyon days when one could make 10-second exposure daguerreotype pictures under Atlas because the Rikti invasions slowed everything down so drastically. Hunting the first Winter Lords by climbing the escape stairs on the side of KR buildings because we didn't even have hover yet. Running the gauntlet in The Hollows because a certain officer thought he had to always send us to the buildings in the back of the zone to do missions. Then being thankful for hover because we could go over all that. Then realizing a better, faster way was to hover up to the War Walls ledge, and run around it all. Taking 3 hours to clear one massive room of Tsoo sorcs who were ferocious back then at healing, hitting, and teleporting. Massive debt, yet not one player quit.

Is that today? I'll have to pull out The Walking Red and give him some exercise, then.

*Looks at the area codes* So the next time they try to pull a Galaxy City, we just watch for a fleet of trucks from NYC? That makes surprising sense. It seems a high percentage of alien invasions start in NYC.

Wasn't there a comment in time past that the Homecoming Devs are working in the background at building out upgrades for the Warriors? As others have mentioned, passage of time is tricky in this game as a static existence is partially in play. That said, I've long stated that I felt the CoT were overused. One possible solution to that would be to have an event push that 'reduces" their numbers and appearances, but I think more likely there could be a civil war in the ranks, and their forces altered as two opposing disciplines arise in their ranks. This could lead to similar-but-new types as the opposing views shape their forces. In the aftermath of Frostfire, the Outcasts could do with a restructuring which possibly could create a more formidable force. I've suggested elsewhere that the restructuring result in a committee leadership, top dog of each power type (earth, lightning, ice, fire) sit on the committee and be responsible for his/her power groups training and ranking. I'll now take that idea a step further and suggest that the Outcasts, having lost their dual-powers leader, explore the possibility of dual-powers via forbidden science or tech. In other words "Rocky" may be a natural earth mover, but he'll wear tech that gives him some electrical powers as well. The best dual-wielders to gain seats on the council. And the council leadership will take turns as the head of the organization. It's harder to take down if you're not sure who is the pinnacle of the organization this month. As to solo characters: I know this won't be popular, but Back Alley Brawler needs to be dealt with. Hear me out. Multiple reports say he's old, and should be retired. Either he should be coming around to hanging up the gloves, OR he pulls a Nick Fury and drinks some longevity potion which restores his health and strength. Either way there's a progress to show for it.

Did no message appear on your screen when a meteor is officially checked off? That's how I'm sure since action and mutiple interested parties sometimes lead to confusion as to whether it was done or not. I agree, the Scientist is step one. I seem to recall there was an alternate second character at the start (a second scientist?) but I don't recall who that was.

How long until it becomes a Doctor Who character?

Perhaps, instead of tying an empowerment station to a single item, a generic disk or square could be developed that could be overlayed with any element or combination of elements in the base builder. Clicking on the vertical cylindrical or cubical field that passes through these objects would trigger access to the empowerment station. That way base builders can have maximum creativity, hopefully without forcing the development team to spend much time creating items.

Secret Invasion Trailer

I just renewed Disney+ in order to watch Ahsoka, and have finally sat down to watch this series. I've completed the first 3 episodes. It's not as bad as I feared it might be, though it's not in the same league as Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Thoughts through the end of episode 3: -

Starfield is single player, correct? I wonder why it wouldn't be designed to generate a planet then lock that design into place for the duration of the solo game?

So help me, if you say "pumpkin spice"....

what is the toughest location on city of heroes or villians you can go to Serge's office. Honestly, the judgemental look toward your self-designed costume is off-the-charts crippling. Honestly, some of the toughest people to survive the Rikti War have left that office begging for someone, anyone, to help them. There's a reason Lord Recluse never attacks Icon.

'Cause the management's got supers working their day job as street sweepers dragging your sorry carcass to the hospital medporters then booting you to the curb. You're dead, so good luck resisting whether your spirit likes it or not. It's either that or you wake up in 6 different Vahziloks, and that's a problem for everyone else. Joking aside, why would it matter? Is this some RP thing?

Super Reflexes, the Most Boring Power set.
Techwright replied to The Mighty Paladin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
While admittedly not cartwheels per se, the flip aspects of Ninja run are very sweet. I have my MA/SR scrapper ninja run at a mob, do a low flip over their heads mid-run, land and do a dragon's tail leg sweep all in one practiced fluid move. Poetry in motion. -
What's the backstory to both Excelsior's Cosmic Platform base and those similar in the other shards? Who created them, who runs them? Is it different people per shard? Is there a way we can make requests/suggestions? I, for one, really liked the holiday version in the past of the Excelsior one and was saddened that it didn't appear last December. I'd love to see it again, and maybe other seasonal ones. I'd also like the Empowerment Stations to reach level 3. I didn't initially realize there were levels with these, and wondered why the Cosmic Base's offerings were different than that found in my SG base. Lastly, is there any way we can get the word out better as to their existence and how to add them to your controls? Like maybe adding them to a pop-up description for new characters? I've recently been finding several players per task force that have never heard of the Cosmic Base, and it shows because the number of players inside it at any time has dropped off significantly. I find it an indispensable tool for Task Forces, especially Numina's, and I'm sure others will as well. Those that I told seemed genuinely interested in making it a part of their tool set as well.

One of my favorite elements in my bases. That said, the idea of creating a bit of a look to it, like a chemistry set or kitchen, would be appreciated. It's a bit cold and sterile to just go to it, put the required elements in, and get the effects requested.

Hey, it's just not a great thread until Luminara chimes in to mess with everyone. 😁

I frequently take Mighty Leap for the bonus of the foot-stomping Take Off. That has saved many a weaker character when surrounded, and gives one more AoE control power to my tanks. On those characters, I'll use Mighty Leap for its faster movement than a temporary jetpack, but will keep temporary jetpacks as backup in case some event negates the innate travel power, or if more precision is needed than Mighty Leap can deliver. I have started to sometimes take teleportation powers that focus on teammates to aid in Task Forces. ATT is nice, but with a long recovery, I find I usually need something else to aid the team. Flight I'll only take if it is essential to the character's concept. Likewise speed running, though I've very few characters with that. Until I can run up walls, I find this game has too many obstacles for that power, even if I get the one with a teleport element.

Who is the most powerful hero and villian in the game
Techwright replied to savair's topic in General Discussion
Not Hero One? Admittedly, he's not been himself of late, but he's said to rival Statesman in power. -
I've been playing catch-up watching reaction videos to episode 3, and I've a couple of thoughts from the collective body of material. Spoilers with spoiler references to Star Wars: Rebels:

Did the Avenger game ever truly improve? I'd heard rumors of the developers making a mediocre effort at repairs and ultimately deciding to move on.
