  1. I changed it a bit to get just a little more out of it and get you repel with the FF proc. Price should be just a tiny bit more. 2. For fire blast? Kinetics hands down, every single fire dot scales with +dmg and so you just shred mobs as a corruptor and you get scourge. A well built and well played fire/kin corruptor often does more dmg than a blaster in pve. Time and dark also work very well. I wouldn't pair it with cold though because of the lack of a heal.
  3. In general fire blast is better on a corruptor for the higher base damage of it's powers and it's lack of proc opportunities (sets with proc opportunities are generally better on defenders and controllers, unless you are going /time where even the corruptor can take advantage of them).
  4. The corruptor, with shadow fall maxing pos def is still relatively easy and you will do a bit more dmg. You can also get a lot out of tar patch+rain of fire+ scourge.
  5. Absolutely, but you did use the word optimal in your topic sir. ^_^
  6. This is a lvl 50 build, but this will allow you to easily take the alpha strike after the FS. Softcapped range and melee defense, perma hasten after the FF procs (you are going to have FF up a lot!), hardcapped s/l res and 50%+ energy resist, with repel to keep the mobs knocked down around you. 7. 5 purple for the 10% recharge or 3 ATOs for the same reason. But really the best slotting for a dreadful wail on a corruptor is just to be a defender unfortunately. The small amount of extra damage you get for being a corruptor is vastly overshadowed by the defenders greater survivability and better -res stacking. What this means in real terms is that a sonic blast defender is better solo and in teams than corruptor by almost every metric.
  8. You can go this route, but you will be taking almost twice as much damage as my build. The reason for this is that you will be getting hit 10% of the time compared to 5% of the time and God help you against mezzing enemies, you'll just faceplant (you can use clarion to prevent this though). Personally I think that extra 5% is a huge deal and 100% necessary when dealing with a pairing like poison/fire because it has no way to heal and so you can't recover from any of the damage you do take. You'll do a bit more proc damage to single targets with your build, but I don't think its worth the loss in survivability. Its up to you though, if you duo or team a lot with someone who can heal I wouldn't worry about. For all around things I'd still go with my build.
  9. I have not played with it, I just like making builds. soul drain and much more recharge should make up for the lack of procs. Poison doesn't have any +def so you have to lose procs for survivability.
  10. You can, but it really doesn't proc enough for it to be worth it.
  11. Yeah, water will give a bunch of ff procs for more tar patches. You can also use dehydrate with an essence proc for some early end management. This is a fine pairing for endgame content.

  13. I do not believe that ice storm or sleet can scourge. By all rights they should, but they don't.
  14. Fire works best with a buff/debuff secondary that has a heal, so /kin /dark /time /nature and /rad. Of those, time is the most solo friendly from low level.
  15. I would go Ice/Kin of those options. Ice/Storm doesn't have a good way to control endurance and the lack of a heal makes the game significantly harder. Go water/storm or ice/kin.
  16. The easiest way I can think of to help you is to advise you to take freezing rain, it is a great -res debuff and it stacks with itself. Its super super good. As others have said, use it.
  17. Why go for typed defense when we can go for positional defense with a lot more recharge and soul drain instead? We also get soul consumption to help us with end drain, although it does have a long cd. As long as you get your accolades, I don't think end will be a problem. 18. I'll take these one at a time, you may find you like things differently, but this is how I like to play kinetics after hours and hours of play and testing. 1) The slotting in repel is very important. The kb to kd IO makes it so everything just falls down around you and the FF recharge proc makes it so that you get a huge boost to recharge when you are surrounded by mobs. The endurance cost is heavy, but we have transference and/or we use ageless so we don't care about that. 2) Vengeance is not that useful as a power itself, but it is always worth 7.5% recharge as an LOTG mule. This is good value from a slotting perspective. It is also funny to use vengeance as a bit of an insult because when someone dies I use it and say [vengeance] in team chat. Vengeance doesn't actually provide any benefit to a fire/kin, you are at maxed dmg, softcapped def, and your acc is capped to +3s (+4s with alpha). It's really only there for the extra 7.5% recharge and to boost the other people in the team because in a team where someone actually dies the defense is probably going to do a lot of good for your team members. 3) We prioritize defense first because it is easier to get to the softcap and it provides more mitigation at the softcap compared to resistance. We only take 5% of all damage targeted at us at the defense softcap, but we would take 25% of all damage at the resistance cap. Ideally, you want both. Scorpion shield from mace mastery is good because it provides defense to s/l/e and those are the most common damage types. It will always be safer to get positional defense instead of typed defense though for general gameplay. There are multiple fire/kin builds in this thread and some are positionally softcapped to R/M defense, while using a resist shield to boost our overall damage mitigation. The problem with this approach is that it leaves us susceptiple to being mez (granted only 5% of those mezzes will hit us, but being mezzed will still suck when it happens and might end with us on the ground), in the current version of build I use rune of protection to give mez protection and also some considerable resistance, but its uptime is only around 50-70% of time. I have found this to be an acceptable trade-off, especially as it allows me to use ageless instead of clarion. 4) For 95% of all content, yes SP+FS is redundant. FS alone should easily be able to take you to the damage cap. SP is only useful if you plan to fight a lot of AVs, otherwise just stick with FS. 5) This really depends on the mobs you are fighting. If you are fighting a lot of mezzers then I just try to keep it up as much I can or switch to clarion. If you are fighting mobs that only mez occasionally and you aren't taking too much dmg from hits, then just use it like a break free. 6) Aim/Build up does very little for a slotted fire/kin, your damage is capped through fulcrum shift and you should be at the acc cap as well. This means that you only would take aim/build up for slotting purposes and sense you can slot tactics with the same IOs, tactics is the superior choice in this case. Its best to think of scourge as nice bonus damage when it happens and not build around it. The only time you would consider it is in choosing powers, where you would go for a lot of rain powers to maximize scourge (ice/storm etc.). However, I have found that straight up front-loaded damage is more effective 95% of the time (inferno is beautiful). 7) I take stealth a lot because it allows me to afk follow a brute with FS on auto without needing SS on. I keep the brute targeted which allows FS to target through the brute. I think you are already at the stealth cap with just SS and a sprint IO, but I'm not 100% on that. 8) Rune of Protection and clarion are the only ways we really have to mitigate mez.
  19. So first off, the OP said he wanted to use it for farming specifically, thus I gave a tailored response. Not everyone wants to have the most efficient farmer and some want to make something different just to spice things up. That being said, the reason you bring a fire/kin to a farm is to team up with 1/2 brutes on longer maps to not need red insps and not have any loading times. It is faster money to have a team of one fire/kin corr and one rad/fire brute compared to two rad/fire brutes. A brute friend and I can clear the comic con cave map in 26:24 which beat the two brute team by a couple minutes. Solo my fire/kin corr can clear the asteroid map in 6:30 without inspirations. Now a truly efficient brute with red combining macros and the like can clear it in around 4, that is a big difference, but the fire/kin corr is faster when teaming with other brutes.
  20. I'd nudge you toward a water/cold corruptor as you can still be roughly in theme with those pairings and the heal in dehydrate will let you solo +4x8. Both the corr and def versions of this combo can softcap pos defense and so you get just a little bit more dmg with the corruptor, but a lot more resistance on the defender. So, I would go cold/ice defender or water/cold corruptor. Of course, I would recommend dark mastery for both, but if you plan to go leviathan mastery for theme or something, then definitely go defender.

  22. I should note that there is a 5th option of going rune of protection, scorpion shield (to softcap s/l), and softcapping ranged def as well. This really shores up your ranged/pure dmg hole as just about every melee attack has a s/l component.
  23. The reason we don't max dmg in water burst is that the extra 5-8% dmg you'd get often isn't worth the rch proc because getting geyser and another water burst back more quickly is superior from a dps standpoint. The rch also gets you chronoshift back which gives you major healing and some endurance. The damag on water burst is good, just not enough to worry about maxing it. The heal proc in stamina is worth around 3 hp per second if I remember correctly, which isn't a lot, but it helps and is worth more than 3% resistance in general.
  24. Ok, I made some small changes and just did a quick 10 minute once over of things. Hopefully all these powers are in concept. You will get much more out of super speed than fly and this way you get perma chrono shift and hasten. FF procs are best placed in geyser and water burst. Oh and you will have end issues, especially with time's juncture up and so hopefully dehydrate will help with the double end procs.
