Ok, so here is the budget version I've come up with. You are still softcapped to fire, but your resist to fire is around 23% lower. I would recommend letting the brute go in first and going in right behind him. With the expensive version you can go fully into a mob with bosses and an EB and not worry too much, but I don't think you will be able to do that with this. I have avoided purples with the exception of a superior avalanche in inferno, this is necessary to get you softcapped fire defense. If you cannot afford it, I suggest you borrow 150 mil from your brute friend as it will make a huge difference in your survival and the teams effective farming speed. You still have instasnipe and perma hasten (after one siphon speed), although tough is slotted there is no reason to use it in a fire farm. I have also included repel with the ff proc and the kb to kd IO. I'm a huge fan of setting up repel this way, the recharge and mitigation it provides is fantastic. I'd take the ageless destiny to forgo any endurance issues while running repel so you can focus on dps and not use transference a bunch. I just buy a bunch of 50k jetpacks and that allows me to forego inertial reduction. Increased density is there more to save a slot than anything else.

Well, as I understand it, if you maintain 22% tohit the damage will be the same in combat. Without the 22% tohit, in combat will be instant, but will do less damage. Out of combat will do more damage but take the full cast time. So, I don't know if it's a Nerf exactly, more of a rework as you can get the same in combat damage as now with 22% tohit. Or have they changed this again?

Ok, so I completely reworked this from scratch. In keeping with your build I have avoided purple sets where possible (there is one superior cold set in dual wield which allows you to get an extra slot into brawl/boxing for makos, you could also go back to thunderstrike and take a slot out of health, but this would hurt your end recov). This has 44.9% ranged def and 33.6 melee def before hail of bullets, this allows your to get to 44.9% melee def with hail of bullets. If you use plus five boosters in your weave and combat jumping you will be above softcap for ranged before hail of bullets and softcapped to melee after. This build also gets you soul drain which is a very good dmg buff for you as well as dark embrace enhancing your resists significantly (you have something like 66.7% s/l res in this build). Soul drain is almost perma at 32 seconds and this is a big help considering pistols does not get any kind of build up. You are at speed cap with siphon speed+sprint+ninja run and therefore I did not feel you needed super speed. Hasten is 1 second away from perma. Overall, I think this is an improvement in what you are going for. Let me know what you think. Oh, and you'll need the agility alpha. Ok, so this is actually the one I run in a fire farm: And the Kintank is the one I run in groups: You may find that with the Kintank in groups that you want siphon power for AVs, feel free to switch out combat jumping (won't be softcapped to s/l anymore unless someone else has a def buff/toggle running), tactics (won't have instasnipes unless someone else has tactics), or repel (won't have the kd damage mitigation or the FF recharge proc). I find that fighting AVs is relatively uncommon and for 90% of group play I prefer to have softcapped def, instasnipes, and the kd damage mitigation with the FF recharge. Remember, for more hero ATs you only need to get their dmg enhancement to around 220% (400% total, 100% of which is normal, another 80-100% from enhance,emts, and the rest in buffs) and villain ATs to around 320%. This is easily doable with two fulcrum shifts (one in the case of a lot of hero ATs). Brutes can go up to 775% (675% actual enhancement) so you'll want two solid fulcrum shifts when grouping with them. I did try a repel+whirlwind fire farm build, but not even my T4 ageless could keep up with the end drain and it just wasn't worth it honestly. Whirlwind is no where near as good as repel. So, this is what I recommend, feel free to ask any questions you like. Oh, and the Kintank thread has many iterations of the build as I've been working with it and tweaking it, the original post has the most updated build where I take power mastery.

hmmmmm its quite difficult to have both of these in one build, I have posted my builds for both on these forums, but you will need to utilize two builds (as I do), getting s/l def and res+fire def and res just isnt really possible without really gimping your character.

Are you going with rad blast for the -res procs? Why not go Sonic/Sonic? Also, have you considered a Sonic/Sonic defender? It seems like it may be more in line with what you want to do and it will have better defenses due to the better modifiers on defender powers (not too mention the better -res modifiers on the defender's too). At mid to late game -def just isn't that great of a debuff unfortunately. Most people max their acc (95%) to +3 bosses anyway. So it just doesn't add much if anything to a teams kill potential. Not to mention that a lot of people have tactics to help the team and help themselves reach instasnipes. I can certainly make you a build, but before I start I'd like to get a better understanding of what you want to do. I like my corruptors to get up close and personal with mobs, typically maxing s/l def and e if I can, while hardcapping s/l resists.

This. Most groups just want someone to take the first hits and tear the mob apart. So Taunt isn't really needed. Just have decent def and resists and the team will be happy with you taking the alpha strike and your pokevoke.

Is this a bug? Could we double check? I'm very surprised that the sudden acceleration kb to kd io doesn't work here, as it works marvelously in repel from kinetics. This is a huge set back for storm summoning in my opinion. A kb to kd io with the FF recharge proc in repel works fantastically, it's a pity this doesn't appear to be an option for SS.

I would say that maneuvers and weave offer incredibly good synergy with envenom and weaken. Too good to pass up really. And it just gets better with venomous gas. Poison plays best in melee range, but you need the defenses to help you do that. I like to wait for the brute or tank to go in and then quickly follow behind him with envenom, weaken and my venomous gas toggle on, providing some substantial safety for myself and tank/brute. Not to mention the -res debuffs. I'd also consider getting vengeance for the LotG recharge slot. Also, when lvling up, I've always found that tactics helps team dps more than assault. Lowbies tend to underslot their powers or not slot them at all, making tohit much more effective. Oh, and I'd avoid poison trap. I wish it was good, but it's so not.

For TFs I would say Brute, but Scrapper for AVs. In terms of which primary someone else will know better than me.

So, I updated the build with power mastery. I do run this all the time. The only issues I've had is on an ITF surrounded by nictus alone, where they are doing energy and negative dmg. I have run all the other TFs for accolades without issues. I also took repel with the FF recharge proc. I no longer have vengeance, again please check the original post for the current build.

I think the leadership powers would be a great choice. Maneuvers adds some pretty good defense to the whole team and a place for an LotG recharge and then you get another LotG slot if you take vengeance. Then tactics or assault, whichever you need. So that's 15% recharge, around 5% defense (when slotted) and either tohit or dmg. I really like leadership.

Even if I grant that blizzard will do more dmg than inferno, it also has a longer recharge. My inferno comes up roughly every 28-32 seconds and if I used blizzard it would come up every 45 seconds or so. Does it really do 50% more dmg properly slotted and with scourge? It seems unlikely.

So, I've always thought (and the numbers in pines/mids seemed to bare this out), that fire was the most damaging primary to pair with kinetics. You get very high damaging powers like blaze and inferno, with a DoT, at capped enhanced damage. But in the game, I have heard some people say that ice out damages fire. I can't see how this could possibly be true with the extra DoTs from fire, but is it? And why? Any help would be appreciated.

There is only one build I have ever made that this isn't true. A fire/kin corruptor with repel and whirlwind running at the same time, you get surrounded by enough mobs and even recovery aura isn't enough to stop the end drain (whirlwind and repel work differently than just end drain, they take endurance for each enemy they knockback, but it was knockdown in my case as I had the sudden acceraltion kb to kd IOs slotted. The drain from each enemy knockdown is not reduced by endurance reduction.)

Just to be clear there are 3 endurance giving health IOs panacea proc, miracle, and numinas. Then there is the performance shifter proc in stamina, and 2 stamina 50 IOs (with +5 boosters each will get you to ED cap).

You may also consider a time defender of corruptors just make sure they have times juncture and farsight. Th y should be able to live at 3x8 as long as you are doing the majority of the tanking.

I changed it again, because after messing with repel on my fire farming build, I decided I wanted to incorporate it into my build somehow too. I updated the original post. Here is the old build that retains vengeance for the 7.5% recharge and power siphon for single target. "2nd Edit, new build: Ok, so I have messed with this a lot and it turns out I don't need soul drain to hit instasnipe at all. I simply take power mastery, add some slots to tactics and add a kismet and then I always have instasnipe. I also have more defense and more global recharge, overall this is a huge improvement in my opinion. I will leave both though so people can choose whatever they wish (maybe they want dark mastery for thematic reasons? meh). You can still get to dmg cap in two powers power build up+fulcrum shift, but this is only useful on the first group of enemies in a mission after that power build up serves only to give us just a little more def to prevent a def debuff cascade death. You could go spiritual alpha if you wanted more recharge and you'd still be at the softcap and going spiritual radial would allow you to save one slot, I'd only consider this if using ageless destiny though. For me, I like agility. 185% global recharge with only 2 siphon speeds, this build can keep 3 up all of the time and 4 up for all but 6 seconds, but you need to blast things away too, just maintain two and call it good. You can replace stealth with combat jumping if you like in order to have better endurance management, but you won't be able to stealth past missions. As always, you are at the run speed cap with siphon speed+sprint+ninja run. Oh, and for most content you are going to want the clarion destiny slot as it provides mez protection which is hard to come by on a corruptor. For farming I use ageless and for itrials I use barrier (and I switch to the support hybrid). Yes, that is a lot of situational incarnate powers, worth it though."
