  1. No, that is rune of protection. It's up time is 90 seconds out of 140-150 seconds. I use it more as a break free more than anything else. Another option is the Clarion destiny incarnate. Rune of protection also increases your resistances by a lot, this is more useful on a farm or when facing more obscure damage types.
  2. Depending on how much you can get the purples for, around 500-650 mil I think. I bought this so long ago though that I'm not sure.
  3. For farming, fire/storm will be best of those. /time and /kin can also work well for farming.
  4. You can switch out vengeance for howling twilight if you like.
  5. Melee and ranged softcapped def with lots of s/l resist. I wouldn't turn on tough unless you are using ageless as you need all the end you can get.   6. This is the expensive build. It achieves 44.6% ranged (45% if you use all +5s) and melee softcapped defense. Soul drain is 3.38 seconds away from perma, which you also use to achieve instasnipes. I only took the useful powers at endgame, which means very few dark powers are taken. People don't die often once their toons are done, so I did not take howling twilight. You are also only 1% away from the s/l res hardcap. You could use +5s in unbreakable guard to get to the hardcap, but I am ok with using attuned and being 1% away in order to get the melee def bonuses when I exemplar down. With most corruptors you want as much +dmg as possible in order to highlight your higher base dmg (if not, why play a corruptor and not a defender?), which makes dark mastery almost a requirement in my opinion on most corruptors. Luckily dark miasma has shadowfall which allows us to forego mace mastery and the s/l/e option in mace shield for dark mastery and the lower cooldown soul drain. You also have aim with a gaussian proc which will help considerably. Fire/Dark/Dark works best in melee range due the PBAOEs powers Inferno and Soul Drain. Luckily, dark miasma gives shadowfall which considerably shores up your defenses making a r/m def build possible (it is essentially impossible on something like kinetics without barrier destiny or something similar). If you wanted to forego the extra damage of dark mastery and instead go scorpion shield, you would essentially be trading all around defense and damage for more recharge and more power selection. I think this is the better option and this is what I use on my fire/dark/dark corruptor.   7. My absolute favorite is fire/kin, at 50 you have capped damage (on fire this really really shines), softcapped def to s/l/e or ranged, and repel to knock down mobs and give you some FF recharge. It's expensive, but man it is so much fun to just run up to mobs in melee range and scrap it out at the dmg cap. Fire/time/dark is also a strong contender for the top spot though. The amount of defense you provide to yourself and a party with clarion radial+farsight is incredibly good and then you can get perma souldrain buffing those sweet fire powers. In general I'd say top primaries are fire, ice, and sonic (sonic is better on a defender however as you are focusing more on the -res than your own higher base dmg), with DP and AR being at or close to top tier if you are focusing on a proc build. In general though, proc builds are easier to make on defenders as they have higher modifiers allowing you to proc attacks out without losing defenses/resists elsewhere. For secondaries, I'd say kinetics, time, storm, cold, and sonic are all top tier. Nature and rad are quite good, but at the end game they are outshone by other sets imo. For all of this I am speaking only for pve.
  8. Here is a lvl 25 build using only lvl 25 IOs. I cannot stress enough how much sonic wants to team, so if you are soloing, stop. Your buffs and debuffs are incredibly strong, so focus on making the team better and let them do the majority of the dmg. At 50 with IOs this can absolutely change, but while you are lvling up, I would really recommend teaming at all times. This build adds 3.6% def, 13% tohit, 38% res to s/l and 15% to all, and debuffs enemies resistance by 22.5%, at lvl 25 that is a lot of buffs and debuffs. You should be able to join a decently put together team and handle +3s handily. This is what I'd recommend. You have you attack powers minimally slotted but those you can fill out as you lvl up, for now you are more support than dps (plus sonic dispersion is 22.5% more dps to everyone else, so you are adding a lot more dps actually because it applies to everyone.). Brutes/tanks will love you because you keep them safe and increase the speed everything falls around them. I love having vengeance at low lvls because people die a lot I find.   9. This could work. I started this build by making a few assumptions: 1. You are playing nature so you want to support the team 2. You are still a corruptor and want to do some damage. So, this has the majority of the nature powers, in the end game I don't find rezzes all that useful so I did skip that one. I don't find the hold toggle to be all that useful as anything effected by it are dead too quickly to matter. This has decent recharge and decent s/l defense, with 75% s/l resist. Defense-wise s/l is 42.2%, melee is 44.4%, and ranged is 32.5% (one purple to softcap), and most of your support powers are quite well slotted. I would depend on spore cloud to make up the s/l difference.   10. Hmmmm quite right, disregard my build. It's late. The one thing I would change in your build is moving the -res proc in RoF into stamina for the performance shifter endurance mod. This will give you .19 end/s and RoF is not a proc friendly power, because it spawns a pseudo pet and is AoE.

  13. I tried to keep this as cheap as possible while getting instanipe, no alpha, and ranged softcap. Getting ranged capped seems to be what your build was trying to do. If you want an expensive build I think there are better ways to do this.   14. He'll need the kismet IO (+6% tohit), not acc bonuses. You can have all the ACC bonuses you want and not get instasnipe. Instasnipe only activates at 22.1% tohit, regardless of the amount of accuracy. I use 48 base tohit because that is +3 mobs and I always count on having the tier 3 alpha giving me the +1 lvl shift. So, you can either use kismet or tactics to get there. Another option is to use soul drain, but then you can't perma the soul mastery version. You can perma the dark mastery version, but then you don't get powerboost. It is better to go soul mastery and use a kismet IO or tactics.
  15. Nope, siphon speed+Sprint+ninja run puts you at the run speed cap (92.5 mph). So, I just find a mob, any mob, siphon speed and run to my destination. Not to mention ninja run increases jumping by quite a bit, so I routinely am the first into missions.
  16. Ok, this is based on my Kintank build. You have permahasten, instasnipe, a lot of -res procs, softcapped to s/l/e, max s/l when rune is up, and can use rune as mez protection when hit by one. I think it works great. This could probably be optimized more as I just did this in 15 minutes or so. The only mandatory +5s are the lvl 50 tohit IOs in tactics, this is what gives tactics 16.1% tohit and in combination with kismet gives you the 22.1% tohit required for instasnipes.   17. I think that soul mastery will serve you far better as a master than electric. You get soul drain, dark embrace, AND powerboost. This enables you to use powerboost+farsight (around 22% defense to all alone) or clarion radial+powerboost+farsight (around 30% defense to all). Doing this also allows you to focus on a solely proc focused build which will do far more dmg and get a lot more FF recharge procs to boot. By boosting farsight you also get about +30 tohit and then add tactics and you won't need anything else in terms of acc really. Also the AV killing power of time stop is really subpar even when its boosted with time's crawl, I think you will find that slowed response with an achilles -res proc will allow you to kill an AV much faster. I would also proc out distortion field and test it out for yourself as I have a varied experience with it and so have others, so see if you like it yourself. You can also split scourging blast to take advantage of the increased end and 10% recharge twice. I messed with your build a little to get powerboost and clarion radial (plus musculature), but I did not proc it out or change many powers. Its late and I'm tired, maybe I'll edit this tomorrow.
  18. I love corruptors, but for this combination, I'd go blaster. TA just doesn't have any buffs for yourself or the group on a corruptor. There is some -res, which is nice on a team, but I think you'll find that a blaster will be more fun to play as the damage will be higher.
  19. There are two things going on in this build that obfuscate the actual defense numbers that you would get out of this build. The first is steatlh, it will not give 5.6% def in combat, about half of that in combat will be active, so 2.8% (the hero designer shows the out of combat value for some reason). The other thing to remember is that power boost also boosts your defensive toggles while it is active, so although you keep the full bonus from farsight, you lose all the bonuses to defensive toggles when it is down. This means that after your powerboost goes down, your defense is roughly going to be: melee 40.6%, range 46.2%, and aoe 42.5%. A gaussian proc in Aim will also serve you better than a single recharge IO. I would also use two cytos in farsight over membranes because its already perma without the extra recharge, might as well save some end (also +5 the LoTG to make up the defense difference powerboosted this is only a .2% difference). I would use +5s in hasten as well. Swap in a miracle recov IO in temporal selection for more end recov. Then take out a slot from super jumping leaving the knockback protection in place. Put the two slots in soul drain and 5 slot superior winters. All these changes will give you more endurance recov and your defenses when powerboost stops affecting your toggles and you are in combat will be: melee 45.4%, range 44.8%, AOE 42.3%. I think this is an overall improvement to the build. You could use +5s in maneuvers to make up the extra .2% range if you wanted.   20. I took out super speed from the build as you hit the cap with beast/ninja run+sprint+siphon speed. I then took tactics and took away some acc from the kin powers. I then added LoTGs to the defense powers for more acc and hp. Put a knockback protection in speedboost and swapped our gladiator for unbreakable guard. Added one slot to stamina with a +5 end mod (saw you used +5s so I did as well). This gets you over 32% range def, all kin powers are at about 100% acc to +3s, tactics for the group, more melee def, slightly more resistance, more HP, and the endurance difference ends up being only .07 even with tactics running.   21. The problem with creating a farming toon on a corruptor is that you need a lot of things to be self sufficient. You need to softcap a defense (whether that is positional or type depends on the set), resistance to a type as high as you can (usually s/l or fire), a heal (even with softcap defense and hardcapped res I still need to heal myself on my corruptors when I'm surrounded by mobs), 22.1% tohit for instasnipes (if you have a snipe), enough global recharge to have perma hasten (or close), and you probably want soul drain perma for the extra dmg. It is possible to get all these things, but the build choices you are forced to make in order to get them, means that you don't really have room to proc out attacks. The exception to this is /time and kinetics. Let's talk about /time first. The amount of defense you get from clarion/powerboost farsight is so huge that you can pretty much use that for most of your defense. Time also gives you a native heal, which means you don't have to take the medicine pool or horde greens (even with a full stack of greens I'm not sure you could do the moon map solo safely even with capped def and res without a heal). Kinetics caps your dmg, has a heal, and can be minimally slotted so you have room for slots in powers you don't use to get the defenses that kinetics lacks. Because your dmg is capped, you don't need perma soul drain. This allows you to take another mastery like the mace mastery, which shores up kinetics lack of defense powers. You can also slot repel with the kb to kd io and the ff recharge proc which helps your global recharge a bit. Still, because of necessary placement of IOs for set bonuses, it is difficult to take advantage of procs. A DP or Ice primary can do it, but these are actually outshined on a farm by fire because all those AOE fire dots are buffed by the dmg buffs (I have tested procs on an ice/kin and a dp/kin in farms). Storm has some very good damage and proc opportunities. Steamy mist also provides some good defense that a corruptor sorely needs. However, there is no native heal and that means you probably need heal self and field medic (to make it uninterruptible, because on a farm you will be swarmed with mobs). I've been playing with builds for the last hour and I just can't seem to get all the things I want in a storm build on a corruptor. Switch it over to a defender though and things become much easier, your base dmg suffers, but you make up for it with procs. If I was you and I wanted to take advantage of procs, I would use a /time corruptor or a storm defender. And I wouldn't use fire, as much as I love fire, it just can't take advantage of the i24/25 proc changes effectively. I'd also consider dual pistols as you can get a lot of FF recharge procs as well as dmg ones. I know this may require building a new toon, but it really doesn't take that long these days.
  22. Go to 'options>configuration>exemping and base values' and set the to hit to 48. Then get your powers to 95% that is enough for +4x8 as long as you have a tier 3 alpha (so +3x8 really).

The kintank build I have posted does have a lot of AOE, but it also has a very good ST attack chain in Blaze>Blazing Bolt>Fireball>Flares (for corruptors I think its only beaten by a proc'd out ice or dp attack chain, I can keep myself+the team at about 250% dmg buff on one target and all the fire dots are helped by that). This en/kin build also has good AOE and a decent attack chain. You could focus more on procs for better ST dmg, but then you would miss out on the global recharge and some defense. Kinetics doesn't lend itself well to a proc build on a corruptor, because it has no defense buffs and we already have lower def modifiers compared to a defender. I rolled a proc focused DP/Kin on the test server and although I think the ST dmg was better, the aoe was worse compared to fire. Also. the FF recharge proc was up all the time, which was nice, but you kinda need to choose what you want to do when choosing powersets and making a build. For instance, the current kintank build I am using (and have posted), is using rune of protection, which is great for mez protection and to get up to 75% s/l res, but for those 40 seconds or so that it isn't on I take 30% more dmg which really hurts sometimes. Overall for most content I think the trade-off is worth it, but there is no denying that it is much worse in a farm.

In general: St: give procs Taoe: depends on the power and base recharge Rains/pseudo pet: don't give procs (unless it has a very high recharge) Cones: don't give procs (I don't take them either as the range slotting and line up requirements don't make them worth it imo) Pbaoe: give procs (especially if it is a high recharge power)
  25. It is true, but proc chance in AOE's is pretty low anyway, so you don't worry about it. Better to get the global recharge for all your other attacks which does not affect proc chance. PBAOEs in general have such a high recharge that their proc chance is at or close to the max proc chance anyway (90%).
