With a /kin I dont think you'll need assault, but I suppose you can use it to still be at cap against a single AV. You can also take vengeance for the 7.5% lotg recharge. I have a build up in the corruptor forums for a fire/kin corruptor, feel free to check it out. When making a build decide if you are better suited to cap s/l/e or pos def, many powersets that have a +def power (like shadowfall from /dark) are better suited to go pos def, but not always. You also can go for proc builds, especially with a /kin buffing everyones dmg and tactics putting your tohit through the roof.

On the defender forums there is a whole thread dedicated to talking about storm and what to pair it with. I'd read that and then also the proc monster new offender thread. With water you can proc out a lot of your attacks which will yield more overall DPS. I have not played this exact combo, but if I was making it, I'd start with a proc focused build due to the i24/25 proc changes.

This should work. Very close to softcapped s/l/e and permahasten. It has instasnipe and decent s/l resist too. In general people don't play energy blast because of the knockback and lower dmg compared to other primaries. I don't like cones, so I didnt take any. I would use Bopper's build, its very good and takes advantage of the i24/i25 rules.

Most of kinetics doesn't really benefit from slotting except for recharge and acc. You don't need acc if you can get tohit and acc from other sources and I wouldn't recommend more than one recharge io in each power anyway. A lot of people use increased density to save a slot and put the gladiator +3% def io. This allows you to focus on your secondary powers and defense. The only thing you could add more slots into is repel, but even then I slot it with one end redux, one FF recharge proc, and one kb to kd io. Kinetics is a very strong buffing powerset as you can cap your team's damage quite easily. Cold/Sonic is great at debuffing, but it is more single target focused. Still, the times you need debuffs the most are against single targets. You still get three AoE -res powers, so it's still pretty good at group debuffing and it has some -res cones as well from Sonic.

I like to slot 1 end redux, 1 kb to kd, and one FF recharge proc in powers like this. In terms of endurance, you either need to have a way to deal with it or use the ageless destiny, otherwise it may not be worth the endurance. This way it adds some mitigation and minor control, while helping recharge.

Yeah, musculature is really your only good option for the alpha slot in a build like this I'd say. To clarify an implication of your previous paragraph though, soul drain adds enhanced dmg, it doesn't buff the dmg of enhanced dmg. What I mean is the dmg cap for defender's is 400%, but the enhanced dmg cap is 300% because you start at 100% dmg. On most builds you start around 195%-205% because of the dmg enhancements slotted into powers. Most defender non-proc based defender builds would be at the dmg cap with enhancements+aim (with Gaussian)+saturated soul drain. So, when you say that soul drain "doesn't have much to buff," that is a bit of an unclear statement, as the enhanced dmg from soul drain and enhancements are additive and not multiplicative.

Made one last pass at this and took Mu mastery instead of power mastery in order to get to 45% energy resist. Your s/l resist goes down to 72.6%, but I think 2.4% s/l resist is a great trade for 32.5% more energy resistance. I went ahead and also took 1 kb protection out of the armor in order to get repel down to add an end redux to repel getting it down to .49 end/s instead of .74 end/s. Now it will still drain 1% per mob knocked down, but you can still run it with good transference usage, conserve power, or ageless or all three. The one thing to note is that giant monsters will now be able to knock you down, so if this bothers you, switch it back. This is the old version of the build with power mastery, its good on s/l farms and a lot of content. I found that there was too much pure energy dmg for me to be running into the middle of everything I wanted. So, I respec'd into mace shield and sorcery. This is still faster on s/l farms though or against s/l mobs because you have capped res at all times. OK, so this build focuses on the ranged and melee softcap at the expense of recharge. I think the trade-off is worth it as most attacks in game come with either a ranged or melee tag. Hasten is not quite perma, but it is close. I like being able to tar patch then soul drain (with the -res proc) and then cast my T9. I couldn't figure out a way to keep ranged softcap and cap s/l resist so you have just under 70% which is still pretty good. I believe howling twilight and darkest night are auto-hit so no issue there. Finally, you will want to either take the ageless or make sure you get the +end accolades as the end drain on this is a little heavier than I'd like. Personally, I'd get the accolades and then take the clarion destiny incarnate ability for mez protection, but its up to you. It depends on the build you are using. In general, corruptors want more damage, recharge, and defense. So, the three that meet those needs are the musculature, agility, and spiritual alphas. This isn't set in stone though as some builds may need more endurance and so they take the cardiac etc. Could you post your build so we could make a more informed recommendation? (In general I take agility as it gives recharge and sort of makes up for having lower defense modifiers compared to a defender)

This build does not load correctly in the newest version of the hero designer. It looks like you've not taken mandatory powers as well (you can't avoid taking time's crawl on a corruptor). I'd get the newest version of the hero designer and edit your post with an updated build.

So, his build certainly could use some more tohit or acc because slowed response is not at the tohit cap (95%) to +3s. For the build, I suggest taking away grant invisibility and hover or grant invisibility and stealth (depends if you want to be able to hover or stealth missions), to replace them with maneuvers and tactics (put one lotg in maneuevers and one cyto hami in tactics). This will get you to 95% tohit against +3s at the cost of 7.5% recharge. This may not be necessary though, because as long as you use clarion>power boost>farsight all the time, slowed response is at 82.79% to +3s, if you can live with that then don't worry about it. (if the hero designer is lying to me about how much clarion and power build up are boosting farsights to hit though, nevermind) In terms of chronoshift and hasten not being perma together, all he needs is 1 FF recharge proc to get both perma. This is easily done with the amount of ff recharge procs he has slotted. (or to get hasten truly perma all the time, just use enhancement boosters on the recharge reductions in hasten) For a solo proc monster, why go both PBU and clarion? With both you are way over even the incarnate softcap (not to mention you have time's juncture helping you out). Wouldn't you get a lot more use solo out of dropping soul mastery for dark mastery. This would get you perma soul drain, wouldn't this be more helpful solo? Dark mastery would also get you dark consumption which would help with endurance. At this much recharge I suspect you may find you have some endurance issues. I don't see an alpha selected in the build, are you thinking of going cardiac or musculature or something else?

Mu mastery version. Ranged def should be close enough to protect you and s/l res is almost capped. ACC of benumb is 90% which is also close enough for me in most cases, especially because when you will be using benumb (mostly against AVs and EBs), in general, you will be on a team with at least one tohit buff. The Mu pet is 5 seconds from perma. You could use +5s in the pet power to get it to perma, but I'd rather have the extra ranged def when I exemplar down for TFs. I'm talking about corruptors on both the dp/kin I tested and my fire/kin on live. Just double checked and clear time is in the 6.5-7.5 minute range depending, but I'm not solely spec'd for farms right now. I'm currently testing a different version of my kintank for all content and I took rune of protection and mace shield this time to cap s/l/e def with decent all res and capped s/l res (but only when rune of protection is up). So far it works great for all content, but it is slower than the power mastery version on farms because when rune of protection falls for 35-45 seconds I have to heal myself a lot more. That clear time is without any inspirations btw. Edit: In general I prefer corruptors for kinetics as both defenders and corruptors can cap team dmg and so you really just get better def and res modifiers on defenders at the cost of base dmg. I can make sacrifices in my build to get more res and def, but I can't do anything to increase my base dmg or replace scourge.

So I went back to the test server and double checked and I am completely mistaken. >_< Between siphon speed, ageless, hasten, and the ff proc I was capping myself. The ff proc does not stack with itself but you can have it up a whole lot of the time with a lot of the attacks in DP. Sorry for misleading you. In terms of the aoe dmg potential of DP with all the procs I was a bit disappointed. I can clear my moon map faster on my fire/kin on live, which says to me that the capped dmg fire dot secondary effect is still doing more AOE than the AOE proc'd out DP even with the i24/25 proc changes.

So after reading this I went to the test server and rolled up a dp/kin corr I was more interested in recharge and aoe than anything else. I figured dp would be good because of the ff recharge proc and all the other procs available while still allowing me to use a fire DOT with swap ammo. I went /kin because I wanted to slot all the procs while still scourging at capped dmg. I'll post more later, but the FF recharge proc stacks with itself, you can easily get to the recharge cap this way with bullet rain and repel. Is this well known?

Ok, so this has softcapped ranged defense, permahasten and AM, almost perma soul drain, 75% s/l res (capped), and has enough global recharge to run BIB>Freeze Ray>Ice Blast>BIB for ST. You also have good -res procs in ice storm, blizzard, and radiation infection. I included soul drain because it is a great dmg buff and tohit buff, but more importantly you said you often stand to the side of mobs, so it should still work well, just make sure you souldrain before you benumb to get the tohit bonus (you only need to hit 1 mob to get the full +tohit bonus). I hate crash nukes, so I did not take EM pulse and you said you don't really use mutation so I left it out. There is a very similar version of this build that is also softcapped to range and capped to s/l res that takes mu mastery and gives you a pet, but I feel that the benefits of having soul drain always up outweigh the benefits of a pet. Mu mastery may fit the playstyle you are going for more and would also give you more energy resistance. Let me know what you think. Yeah, definitely. Also, why are you using so many winter IO sets? Are you trying to get get fire def and res for farms? They are very expensive and often don't add much benefit against most mobs in the game (with the exception of blistering cold giving s/l and winters bite giving energy and s/l/e dmg types are most of the game). Looking over your build again and understanding that it is a hover character (I generally don't play these and prefer to be in the middle of the fray), makes me see that you can free up a lot more slots and build toward s/l/e or rangged def. With the cost of this build, I assume that price is no issue, so I'll revisit this and edit this post with a build that builds for ranged softcap and recharge. An issue to consider though, a lot of the power of /rad comes from the -res from enervating field, will you be able to maintain that on mobs while hovering over them? (will edit this post with a build) -
So, basically you want to focus on global recharge and defense first, then add resists and damage where possible. Luckily the time secondary offers a lot of defense and recharge. You can get even more defense out of farsight by always using it with power build up (from power or soul mastery) or Clarion radial incarnate destiny or both. If I was you though, I'd go Clarion radial with dark mastery as you can get perma souldrain to buff your damage and tohit, dark embrace to buff your s/l/n and dark consumption to help your endurance (albeit on a long cd). There is an article on the old coh paragon wiki about softcapping defense and why it is so important. I'd read it if you want to understand more about making strong characters. Edit: but there are some developments with the i24/i25 changes to ppm procs that may change this a bit, you still want global recharge and to softcap defense, but procs are a way to do a lot more dmg, depending on the type (st/aoe/pseudo pet/etc.) and base recharge of the power. This is dependent on powersets as well though,

Does using the agility or spiritual alpha affect the proc rate of IOs? I know global recharge does not, but as I understand it, slotting an alpha is like adding enhancements to your powers. So, this would affect the proc rate right?
