Focused Feedback: Electrical Affinity - Powers (Build 2)
JayboH replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
...or, how crazy would it be if chained powers lose no potency? Keep the stacking mechanic but chained powers are always full strength -
Focused Feedback: Electrical Affinity - Powers (Build 2)

Definitely no to the Faraday spender idea as far as range/radius goes. Just no. One thing I don't see people discuss when it comes to the tier 9: it actually grants new passive abilities to your target that they don't get from other sets - other sets buff, this one buffs and grants new passives. I hope it doesn't lose that part of it. -
Focused Feedback: Experimentation (Build 1 - 4)

I mentioned this earlier today on the alpha forums. I could have sworn I corpse-blasted an enemy and the power never activated which is a rather bad problem considering it is a targeted AOE that lingers. -
Focused Feedback: Electrical Affinity - Powers (Build 2)

Brought over from the Alpha Server: I don't think Empowering Circuit is hitting the caster, when I try it on the pet. I noticed (I think) that Corrosive Vial, when corpse-blasting (target dies before animation finishes) might not appear which is a problem since it is a lingering AOE. Can confirm that Faraday Cage is not granting enhanced resist values. ~ Well, if Energizing Circuit doesn't bounce back to the caster and if it is not a bug, then have Shock steal endurance for the caster on top of what it does. Boom, fixed. I do like the idea of Energizing granting recharge resist, that's a decent idea. Nothing wrong with having to resummon Galvanizing IMO. Nothing wrong with Defibrillate as it is. Faraday is much better than it was and it's ok IMO, interesting idea of having it continuously grant its buffs while in the bubble only. I am not sure about Amp Up - I mean the idea it gives new abilities to its target is really wild! Need to tune that one carefully - whatever you do, don't get rid of the abilities it grants - that is such a cool idea. -

Focused Feedback: Shock Therapy (Build 1)

Oof, that would be a monstrous mountain of work for balance methinks -
Focused Feedback: Shock Therapy (Build 1)
JayboH replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Note that the benefits to the caster can't be buffed, like the heal. I do appreciate the Faraday Cage length buff from the alpha server. If it was switched to a toggle, the mechanics would be much better, however I kind of hope the visuals can be more transparent if that happens. It's a very low-quality texture and is a bit glaring if you would have it on all the time. Wish Energizing Circuit was earlier to help out lowbies who struggle. I think Speed Boost is level 12 in kinetics for example. What if Insulating gave you absorb as well? Since +end and +heal for the caster is dependent on spenders and stacks, this could offset that a bit. -
Powers balance changes with free respecs. Don't let energy melee, dual pistols, and so on stay bad for the sake of nostalgia or fear of backlash. Just freaking do it and grant respecs. Actual rebalance. I know it isn't easy, but just do it. New powersets. Work on creating animation and particle effects.

Someone told me you can only earn one catalyst a day. wut :o
-
Let's be clear: Katana is known as a great powerset for good reason. Nothing wrong with Broadsword - however the speed difference mentioned makes whiffing that much more painful. What I'd rather see is a debate on Katana vs Dual Blades. Katana and Broadsword get the nice +defense attack but still...
-
That sounds ridiculously low to me. What is it, half a million mobs to catalyze 3 enhancement sets? Drop rate sounds crazy low.
-
I've been running a dev-approved arc, arc id 48, with my spines/fire, in order to get a farmer going to earn whatever I need and it's going fine. I have noticed though, running it over and over and over again all the way through that first map, that I have gotten a grand total of 3 catalysts to drop. I'm vet level 5 or 6. I have Hybrid unlocked, I have a tier 3 alpha, interface, and judgment. I am slowly getting sets and have all the single uniques purchased, but this kind of stuff takes time. I just don't understand what's going on with catalyst drops. 3?! 3 whole enhancement catalysts out of thousands of enemies, several hundred boss kills? Seems a bit low guys.

Can you edit this to list what the accolades provide to the player? Also, PVP in a dice-roll game was always weird.

Or else what? I dont get what your saying? You imply a threat I dont see. ...or else the game will be changed to reward you less for the content you enjoy
-
That's probably a good thing; we can't have people play the content that they want and actually get rewarded properly now can we?
-
Yep those nerfs weren't needed or wanted. 'Play other stuff or else.' Terrible logic.
-
Actually no, KM is best on a Stalker because you can control your own crits.
-
Energy melee is a bad set - it hopefully will get development and love in the near future. As far as KM, yes, it is amazing on a stalker - like really, really good, because of the stalker-specific IOs. I don't think gauntlet is still broken that way - I didn't bookmark the patch notes though so I can't check. You likely know the advantages/disadvantages between scrappers and brutes - inv will be better on brutes simply because of their larger health pool, but KM on a brute might suffer fury generation due to slow animations, whereas scrappers just automatically get crits. I think it's more up to what you want to focus on - toughness or damage.
-
Someone made a statement I agree with: Super Reflexes is great if you want to have a character that is pretty tough on the cheap. Shield Defense however can get just as tough yet gives even more benefits to your character though it will likely require more investment IO wise. I had a fully incarnated Super Reflexes tanker on live that laughed at most end game content using mostly generic IOs in SR - however my secondary was Ice Melee which grants lots of mitigation through slows, holds, and of course ice patch. I also got melee core hybrid and the healing destiny, with the confuse interface - all which adds to additional mitigation. SR does require you to get almost every power though - just skip Elude basically. Easy set to toss multiple luck of the gambler recharge procs in of course. Remember that it does get damage resistance, and it scales with lower HP if I recall, so the lower your health the tougher you get - that's if you get hit at all. My views may be a little skewed since my memories are of a softcapped character (softcapped to incarnate-level stuff too) so I don't remember how painful it might have been leveling it. Oh, and one tidbit I remind others of: brutes do not need to get hit to have fury rise. As long as enemies try to hit you it counts, even if they whiff.

People tend to go Grav on controllers over dominators for the damage it brings, since dominators would actually go down in dps if they used grav power damage from what I remember (since propel is so slow or something.) The pet uses tons of control, which helps balance it out a bit. Grav tends to toss critters so be aware of that. The set works well - I would take it over ice control any day. Ice control is probably the worst of all dominator primaries in my opinion.

Heh, on Win 10 1903 as of a couple days ago. The pic was taken using Win 10. I have a flushdns batch file that's really nice that just runs ipconfig /release ipconfig /flushdns and ipconfig /renew. I have rebooted since my post and it worked before I saw your reply.

Try Champions Online, it has exactly what you are asking for. I assume the physics and everything else in this game would need a lot of work for it to be here.
