Focused Feedback: Experimentation (Build 5)
JayboH replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Yeah I questioned the toxic dart change on the alpha forums too, but perhaps it is best. I was using it in a regular chain of charged bolts, lightning bolt, toxic dart, zapp, repeat. -
I'm still of the opinion that Defender numbers should always be superior for supports and I also disagree that blizzard for defenders should be the same nuke numbers as blasters. I'm fine with defender buffs in order to keep the others where they are but that is kind of a tall order perhaps
-
I could see that. Poison and Trick Arrow can reach higher -res however it takes two powers to reach it. If Defender Tar Patch was maybe -35 res it would be a respectable go-between if the others were kept at -30. I don't have the formulas they do however so... EDIT: Slowed Response for example takes two powers to reach -36 res on a defender, TA is -40, Poison can reach a whopping -65 on one target while the rest are -45, Pain Dom is -30 only, Rad has Enervating for only -30, Sonic can hit -60 with two powers, Nature is only -25, and I think Sleet and Freezing Rain are -30 if I am not mistaken
-
This is likely true, and I am all for changing abilities to proper rebalanced numbers even if it breaks builds as long as they come with freespecs like the original devs had done several times before the shutdown.
-
I doubt it - Elec Aff shows they can tune the power each jump makes.
-
I have been very specific in my posts for a reason. I get it and I've been intentionally ignoring it: You both want to keep the OP numbers you've enjoyed all these years and the argument for keeping it imbalanced is because you really enjoy being OP but want to use nostalgia as a reason and want to use TW being OP as a reason for either keeping Fade and Tar Patch with their OP numbers or by using it as a reason to rebalance TW. I saw the F bomb you dropped on the devs and I am specifically choosing a different approach towards both of you.
-
Yes, I figured the forum was not going to have anything to do with explaining how TW being OP is a reason to not rebalance powers in this thread with their proper AT modifiers, just like I mentioned earlier as my main question. It can be called a bug, no doubt - they weren't set to their proper AT numbers. We are speaking the same language there. It kind of makes me want to check Traps, which has quite a few pets, to see if they have proper AT modifiers.
-
Keep imbalance because you are used to it?
-
I very much doubt it - unless you aren't including the part about using the set as reasoning to discard proper rebalances discussed here for other sets, which is my main question.
-
Would you like to have a discussion where you explain how OP it is, and why it's a reason the proper rebalances shouldn't occur? I'm open-minded, I like to learn, please, I want to understand.
-
My understanding is that TW isn't OP unless you sacrifice everything for godlike recharge - and using something you consider OP as an argument to keep other things imbalanced on purpose is a head-scratcher too.
-
The numbers being arranged properly, as you put it, doesn't necessarily mean their characters aren't fun anymore either.
-
Weird, we better change the fire and ice swords as an example to all lethal if that's the entire argument surrounding the design. I'd be fine with half and half - but having an ice set deal zero ice damage in a damage aura is strange.

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH It's happening!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap Trickshooter! All these years!! Poison and Energy Melee next?

Focused Feedback: New IO Sets (Release Candidates)
JayboH replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Synapse's Shock still has an oversized icon on the buff bar for the run speed. -
The Sentinel drains endurance, debuffs enemy damage, debuffs enemy regeneration, tanks damage, and debuffs enemy recovery. Add the stun proc and mobs get disoriented too from time to time. I wish the pet had Mastermind updates for following rules. It sometimes still follows real slow - but it will also engage at full range of its abilities which is outside of chaining range from the caster.
-
...yet it doesn't pierce mechanically, so either way it makes no sense. Pierce as a concept is in the game but it's basically just using a cone like Piercing Beam in Beam Rifle.

Trickshooter's Buff Trick Arrow 3.0!
JayboH replied to Trickshooter's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
In case this hasn't been mentioned, HERE is the original main thread for Trickshooter's discussion from the old boards. Note that the developers at the time DID put Trick Arrow on the list for getting some love after they were done with other jobs, agreeing that the set needed attention. I would love this set to get some work done - it's one of my favorite sets even in its weakened state - but I also think Poison needs the attention even more so (followed by energy melee.) -
Can this please be changed to cold damage?

Focused Feedback: Electrical Affinity - Powers (Build 4)
JayboH replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Doesn't bug me too much as fully slotted you fill half an end bar on the first target and a quarter bar on the lowest in the chain on a fairly short cooldown. -

...but I would seriously suggest everyone turn on the pet window anyway, even though it will be easier to click the pet now. It still gives you info on if the pet is still alive, what health it has, and what buffs it has, on top of being able to click on the pet using the window for heals and such. -

Yeah but why not leave it - you can reposition it nearly at will with enough recharge. Think of it like the other bubble powers perhaps, which are also 4 minutes.
