  1. Live had a name policy, all I'm asking for is one on HC - be it the one I last remember hearing about or some modified one. Hyper, I'm asking for no one to be put on a pedestal just because of what they do as a line of work/living. Military people are no more special than a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, or what have you. Exemptions should either exist for all jobs/ways of life or none at all. There's also a very big issue with trying to put one group on a pedestal; It's very very easy to fake being part of the military. Having HC verify that just so one can be exempt from any name policy is dumber than dumb. EDIT: It should also be noted that unless you have a bunch of level 1-10 toons, the last proposed policy was PRETTY generous as you got higher in level. Under HC's last proposed policy, Level 50s were exempt (which I think is a mistake, but eh)
  2. Hmn. The fact you're fine by all of those unironically (unless you're shitposting, in which case: good on you, you got me there) is harrowing and hilarious at the same time. This baffles me. Forums were a mistake.
  3. Alright, so military people get an exemption. What about lawyers? What about doctors? What about teachers? They're just as important. My argument is this: We do not need to put anyone on a pedestal and thus exempt them on a private server for a video game. It opens a can of worms that would be hell to enforce. Because how do you prove someone is part of the military and isn't using buyable military uniforms? Exemptions shouldn't exist for the name policy in the first place, but that's just my cold take.
  4. The problem with affording military members exemptions is it would have to go for everyone. Not just american Military members. But then one could make an argument for anything that takes them away for a while. new child is born, etc. It's a slippery slope. I respect the troops, but to give them and them alone an exemption is not good design.
  5. No one is owed special consideration, imo. Ideally, a time limit would be set to all levels rather than level 50s getting a get out of jail free card. But alas, we do not live in an ideal world.
  6. if i was making this entirely to get a single name, i'd be pretty lame. name purges need to happen for the general population, that kind of goes hand in hand with why its being asked for. also not trying to win any points, there's nothing special that should make anyone exempt from the ruling that HC had in mind except for getting to level 50.
  7. Everlasting people are pretty cool. 10/10, good crowd.
  8. What in the world is that argument that you're trying to make. For some people, a name matters. It might be quite jarring to see xXSephirothXx for a superhero that's all about controlling elemental forces.
  9. Why should military people be exempt from a name purge in a video game? Like, there's nothing that special about folks in the military that they should get an exempt card from a theoretical name purge.
  10. That's entirely fair, Teague. That last line is a little not serious because I don't really "own" names. I just miss the ones I used before.
  11. Arcanist, Everlasting. Don't worry about it, I don't think you're the global that has it 😛
  12. I did just have another idea to add onto this: Give us the ability to figure out when another player has last played so we know if we should try emailing/PMing the person in-game or not. I want my old Virtue names. Or at least one in particular 😠
  13. I know HC has talked about it like a year ago, but can we get the Great Name Purge soonTM please? For those who don't know what the frick frack I'm talking about, HC proposed a name purge system (misusing the word but fuck it) in which for certain level brackets, you get a set amount of days (usually very gracious) of being logged off before the name was able to be taken. I know on Everlasting at least there are name squatters too. Anything to combat them would be pleasantly welcomed.
  14. npc pieces probably would need to be retooled for the actual bodies that players can make. Otherwise, bugs or clipping issues may ensue.
  15. A server that operates with barely double digits is going to cost less, I imagine. I mean, HC makes all its stuff quite transparent.
  16. fetch me their souls. Also, this isn't really controversial but just silly. Blaming PLing is such a "i need to blame SOMEONE/SOMETHING" move.
  17. I hope they don't. Badges are an optional time sink. The only ones that make half a difference in anything are the passive accolade ones, and honestly? Most of them are easy to get for the blueside versions. Not everything has to be modernized in an MMO that's from 2004 to 2012. I'm all for QOL, but there's QOL and then there's this.
  18. Eh, I think its fine as is. Or maybe it doesn't need such a drastic lowering (i.e a million down to 100k) Some/most badges that require effort and time should remain that way.
  19. Honestly, I think most PVPers would respect the hustle of going after the RV AVs or Warburg nukes. And if they don't, that's on you for going to a PVP zone.
  20. NPC pieces are a bit weird because some clip like you wouldn't believe. Gender parity I imagine is a WIP because each of the three models is vastly different than the other. Or so I imagine. I don't know, I don't develop.
  21. The thing about that EB Reichsman is he's a seriously nerfed Reichsman. AV Reichs, as seen in Kahn, is a hell of a beefball. The others I agree with.
  22. i'mma brag that i got the zookeeper badge in a single day
  23. Personally, playing the game is enough for me.
  24. Sister Psyche is in the future timeline mission. Comic book wonkiness. It'd require rewriting that particular mission. I'd just not touch those two TFs as is, for now, and leave States/Psyche in the grave. Aside from that one mission, she's been pretty removed (aside from WWD)
  25. Nice shitpost, 7/10.
