  1. At the end of the day, a person will play what they want to play. The stereotypical edgelord is often fun (either in trolling or in seriousness usually) for the person. They can be fun to bounce off of, or entirely taxing to deal with.
  2. The main element that prevents reasonable RP conflict between heroes and villains is the human element. If you were to suggest PVP as a means to solve it then we get into the pandora's box of meta builds, having to drop influence to make a build, and opinions on if the power selections in-game represent how strong your character is or isn't. As has been shown by Sael's post, the general sense is that there will be those that hate to lose. So the PVP side of the conflict often invites bruised egos, bickering, and more - often from the fact that one side did not agree with the outcome. PVP is also a hassle because PVP was gutted to shit back on live. So the next option is pure emotes. Well the chatbox has some serious limitations that need to be kept in mind. What this choice invites is the risk of someone power-gaming / metagaming and otherwise making a mess of things. As at least one post has displayed there will be those who do not want to be the aggressors or the losers. So they throw a stink and otherwise blockade any attempt to further IC conflict solely based on OOC. Again the whole thing becomes a mess because one side does not agree with the end result. Even adding dice makes it a repetition - it comes down to the human element. Experiences beget that one could have a lack of trust just as much as one can have a hatred towards losing. Losing, for some, is a blow to them as a person. Even when its their character losing and not them its taken personally. Conflict, as is inherent, means someone will lose and someone will win. Which is where problems arise in my experience. In an RP scene / community dominated by clubs, conflict becomes the bottom of the totem pole. This is just the nature of Homecoming's roleplay scene. It's not inherently bad, but there's simply not anything to invite player-to-player conflict or interaction besides those more social than any other. I'm probably repeating points made but I wanted to say my piece.
  3. Eh, I disagree. I think more so it is that HC cares to take its time and thoroughly test things out. Innovative things - whatever they may be - take time to get right. Which is what is appreciated compared to blindly throwing darts - the Thunderspy approach basically. Though it's been vague and tease-y, there is innovative things coming down the road.
  4. Saw this and actually got an answer - it's multiple things: This was from a conversation about NPC pieces with one of the devs - so if it hasn't been added yet it's either because it fails one of these qualifications or its on the 'to do' list which is hypothetically always growing.
  5. I think I'm going to disagree with this: Mothership Raids Apex / TinMage TFs Number Six (Incarnate Contact) Lady Grey TF The Vanguard story arcs That's quite a bit of things that would have to get moved around or otherwise modified to make work with this. Echo zones don't really have content in them besides badges / street sweeping.
  6. Stuff is coming when its ready. Giving any time frame is bad.
  7. What in the world is this thread.
  8. The only TF that requires specific ATs is the Baracudda SF. Because it has mechanics for it. You can get away with any sort of combination/set up for Kahn, though your mileage may vary based on competency on playing an ancient MMO. TBH, we need more stuff like the Bara SF.
  9. I assume this will also apply to the blueside one too? (i.e Atlas and Nova being added for blue, and none removed.)
  10. A new character and he's a power armor/power suit sort.
  11. Eh, no thanks. Modern game design tropes do not always fit an older game.
  12. More badges for AVs would be cool. More badges for x points (rather than hard number) of enemy groups.
  13. The title of the thread gave me a heart attack. I guess I could see this working, maybe.
  14. I live to please. In all honesty, I probably should have not posted just a nah. o7
  15. My glorious Archmage in a more spandex-y outfit. EDIT: Variants - changed coloring.
  16. Nice click bait with speculation. Good lord.
  17. They can't police it if its not reported. If it keeps happening, report it with extra proof that its the same person.
  18. I know of the vendetta people have against HC, but going off about 'not allowed' falls flat when nothing has been done to streams before. Only reason why HC streams stopped is because of the CoC. This is now removed. Twitch just doesn't give a fuck, and NCsoft hasn't really given a fuck.
  19. That hasn't stopped Lineage 2 private servers from streaming. Oooor the other CoH servers. The only time private server streams get shut down is when its WoW and thats because Blizzard is based in America as is Twitch. Everquest private servers (EQEmu) get streamed all the time. Twitch is a joke of a website, so I wouldn't worry unless someone has a vendetta against HC.
  20. Now they become video formats and they're each 10+ minute long videos.
  21. As they say on Twitch: Poggers
  22. If this gets changed, then I'll scratch my head till it bleeds. This is harmless, to be honest.
