  1. There is no idea here. It was destroyed long ago. It has been killed many ways. The rationale for doing so has been destroyed (Too many people take it is not a reason to nerf it. Apple pie is the most popular pie, lets add insect parts until it's no longer popular) The math behind the proposed changes has been repeatedly destroyed (where it has been presented) the current 13% and 30% seems to be pulled completely from a dark place best left unmentioned The "Benefits" of this change have ranged from "balance" to "Screwing with player's psychology". This doesn't even begin to pass muster. At some point the motivation behind this becomes suspect.
  2. I would say at least at the current time and this thread in particular, the motivation is to leave a mark on the game.
  3. This was a "Forum Sport" back on live, largely fueled by Castle building a cult of personality. I had hoped it would be gone with him especially seeing as the homecoming developers don't have those kinds of problems yet. Silly me for being an optimist.
  4. There is why this thread is still going on and demonstrates the vast gulf between those who actually want to improve games and those that just want to screw with them. People who actually want balance can articulate what that balance should be at the very least what their idea of it should be and then at least form a factual argument based on performance or observable features of the game that something violates that balance. Other people just stir up hornets nests.
  5. Actually I am referring to all threads of the Form "X is too good please nerf" Matter of fact anything of the form Dear Devs Scissors are fine, please nerf paper Sincerely yours Your friend Rock
  6. Sorry I can't currently agree that it should be a free pick. Nobody has a work up on just how much practical benefit it would be and or just how much power creep it would be. Don't get me wrong I am not against the idea of a small global recharge boost. I just don't have any data on what doing that for everyone would be. My "Feeling" is that it would be very small and would likely make the early levels much more enjoyable. I think we can all agree the Hollows without IOs and nothing but TOs wasn't much fun.
  7. Wooo Hoo and thank you. Everything reads GREAT can't wait to see it on test.
  8. Damage scales with End so using stronger powers more often uses more end. So hasten actually has a double cost, the extra end from using powers more often, and it's crash. Assault however doesn't scale that way. It has a fixed cost but a constant boost effect that just increases as teams grow larger.
  9. Not to nerf herd but These threads never work out well. They were especially bad on live from Castle cultivating a following on the forums. I can't see how they will serve a purpose here. The people that propose them are only rarely willing to do the hard work needed to make a reasoned case, and no matter what you get acrimony in the community. And yeah, this thread should be all the case you need that Nerf Herding isn't a good idea.
  10. Concealment is potentially a near 40 % increase to your survivability. Example you are at 42% defense without Concealment taking it and 3 slotting it will get you to the cap and potentially another 7.5% global recharge. Far too powerful Lets eliminate all defense in pool powers, especially weave seeing as it's the number 3 most taken pool power.
  11. Probably the second worst special effect of any blast set. Archery still wins though with .15 extra accuracy and nothing for its nuke.
  12. Naruto ? I always thought it was doing Bela Lugosi from the old Dracula Movies. Anyway yeah and absolutely to this one.
  13. Simplest way would be to include an auto power in the speed pool that adds plus recharge. The only downside is that it would make taking the speed pool even more popular. I am not at all worried about it being OP. Recharge self nerfs. Just for example a power with 10 second recharge time 60% recharge slotted under 0% global recharge bonus, 30% global recharge, 70% global recharge and 100% global recharge 0% global rech : 6.25 seconds 30% global rech : 5.26 seconds 70% global rech : 4.3 seconds 100% global rech : 3.8 seconds If I understand this correctly, I am mostly in agreement with it. I have builds that don't need the full hasten effect or particularly want the maintenance and end hit of hasten. I also have character concepts that I just don't build because of what is needed to bring them into a decent level of performance. Not real happy with where dominators are currently (just a personal thing but there it is). I also feel this way about Time where I feel like I am chained to a treadmill of boost power farsight chronoshift hasten. Having some other ways to play these would be welcome.
  14. I have said this before, I'd like to see another path with costs (not just a giveaway) that provides an autopower that provides significant amounts of recharge. (20-35%) Seems about the right amount. The 20% quickness powers that are out there are a bit underwhelming. I take them but only because they are zero slot picks and I can occasionally slot uniques in them. It would be very nice to have the chance to get my recharge into the area I'd like it without taking hasten or bending my entire build to get that 150% or so number.
  15. The inherent diminishing return on recharge in general. Once you get above 150% or so applied to a power the benefits really drops off significantly
  16. Actually we do. It's around 150k out of the 911k this is something the OP actually brought up. Just not in this thread for some reason Hmmmmm
  17. You know there is an entire thread where people are making an effort to test the scrapper melee sets to see what is OP and what isn't. Unless someone has actually done the testing slandering anyone that disagrees on the topic is incredibly invalid.
  18. Thank you that's the first good use of a logical fallacy I have seen on the internet in a very long time.
  19. They don't this a troll thread pure and simple. You can see it in the original post and title which "Delete hasten, Too many people take it" You can see it in the revised proposals which are now "Just screw with people because they don't play the game the way I think is proper" You can see it in the lack of thought that has gone into this in that the proposer hasn't even bothered to properly run the numbers or even fully consider the effects. This is particularly amazing that someone who a few days ago insisted she was working far too much to even bother taking a look at the code behind changes she insisted were impossible for pets, has been able to spend so much time in this thread.
