  1. The "Despawn" bit is annoying, you've worked your butt off to whittle them down and just when you think you've got them on the ropes "POOF!". I understand how they work (it's basically a set of attributes for aggressiveness, taunt/aggro, and how long they'll try to take you down before wandering off/despawning) but there's still that element of feeling cheated when it happens. Basically, if they cannot attack you for 60 seconds (any reason), they'll spend the next 20 seconds trying to reach a door, and either they reach it, or they despawn. Placate shows how this works really well. They originally aggro on whoever clicked the door, and this is hardcoded so that they can't be taunted away. But when you placate them, that aggro gets deleted. And they don't aggro on anything else. They just stand around for a minute and then bail.
  2. The GM's are actually less of an issue, since they are technically "unscaled" (present as even level to everyone, then boosted due to being a monster). Fighting off a spawn that popped out as level 53, when you're in your twenties? "Hold up, wait, let me lie down and get comfortable, less bruising. There. OK you may kill me now."
  3. You Win The Internets Today. (for the youngsters in the room, here's the original meme ref.)
  4. My only quibble with the Radio/newspaper Missions in general is that they're still very limited in objectives. You have the following: take out a named boss recover/steal an object kidnap/rescue an NPC Between these three formulas, you have this Madlibs set of enemy groups and such. There's a few set pieces in there aside from the Safeguards/Mayhems, but for the most part, this is what we have. I don't know how hard it would be to come up with more objectives (either from Hero or Villain perspective) but that would possibly help. And yes, opening up the roster within each zone would be good.
  5. Yah when i first started doing this ToT league thing I was... low 40's? and suddenly ended up leader, that was about the same time that I got whomped on by an EB, and faceplanted. Seems the team lead dropped without saying anything (as in logged out) and the entire team exemplared to one level below me. Whups! Sorry. So we had to do a bit of rearranging to get someone at L50 back in the top spot. And then there was the time I got exemplared... into the 20's... doing the same thing. OUCH. Since then I've been very conscious about who has the star on the team I'm assigned to, and if it's me (that character is now 50 with some Incarnate powers, yay) I'm looking for other names that can step in when (not if) I need to bail out.
  6. I can count on the fingers of one hand how many times my characters (all 40+ of them) have been 'overtly' propositioned by someone with an ERP-centric bio. You'd think, with my character bios and designs as they are, I'd see it more often, but, nope. And this is a good thing, it means players are at the very least being respectable about their ... desires. I get the impression that the ERP aficionados keep to themselves, likely because they don't want to be reported, they don't want to be harassed, and they don't want to put up with the drama of 'what happens after' the one night stand. They're like swingers - you have to actively look for them, and they'll only accept you once you 'check out' as OK for them. Creepers Need Not Apply. And yes, I agree, there's better places online to let your freak flag fly than a superhero game; altho I'm not adverse to some mature storytelling or roleplay, if it gets explicit there's the "Fade To Black" screen wipe. I don't see the need to flip out about them, however. Long as it's not in public chat? two people can warm that park bench sipping coffee all night long if they want.
  7. If you're leading a team within a league, you should know which of your teammates can be promoted to replace you should you need to leave. If you don't have anyone else to replace you, that's when you ping the league leader and ask for them to put someone on your team that can take over for you, preferably before they're needed (so folks like the OP have the time to figure it out). As the league leader, you just need to talk to your team leaders, make sure they're happy. You don't have to run the whole thing. As for moochers... usually they're the ones not clicking doors, attacking mobs, or moving around. But they can be useful - a Nature Affinity spamming an AoE heal aura makes for a safe spot to run to, should you need to take a bio break! 🙂 The League interface is a bit... broken. So it's kind of hard to move people around, not exactly intuitive. That's why letting your team leaders do most (if not all) of the heavy lifting is good for the league, the team interface is easier to manage!
  8. WoW is that way <<<
  9. Great... now I need to collect 250 Aether. Gotta create my "intolerance repellent" costume. (seriously, reread what you posted. It's... wow. WAY out in the outfield, maybe even past the fence and in the parking lot.)
  10. ... check your enhancements. I've never had that kind of issue with simply leveling up, as long as everything was still active.
  11. I attended a meet and greet in Austin one year, it was a kickoff party for Tabula Rasa as well as a CoH get together held at a Dave and Buster's. That was when I discovered Rowr wasn't just a silly catgirl but a really cool player too (Actually knew that before, but always good to reinforce the notion.) Swag was procured, people were taking pics with Ghost Widow and Lord British (Richard Garriot), and drinking way too much while playing skee-ball.

    End Woes?

Thanks Doom. And yes, I've noticed that I usually lose Voltaic Sentinel, Snow Storm, and Hurricane when I get down to the dregs of my End bar, while Hover stays active. So you're right, I probably can lose that slot or put something else more useful in. I already need to respec simply because slotting Cardiac has freed up a lot of the end issues; before I needed to pop Blues when a zombie invasion occurred, now I can cycle Lightning Storm and Freezing Rain as fast as they recharge, keep Voltaic and Hurricane running, and zap the meat right off their undead bones, and only need to pop Greens when they tag me with a spitball. in ToT play, I usually only have to end-ration when that damned Matriarch shows up, cos she curses my End bar.
  13. All Aether costumes are per character.
  14. Pretty sure you could build a popmenu to do that, with invites for team, league, or for common events. I would also break it out by channels, so that not only do you have the option to IM someone specific, you can also 'post' your interest in LFG, broadcast, or local.
  15. The only Razer bits I've 'worn out' have been several Naga mice over the years. Like, the first one was the original green-key (no chroma) version, that's how long I've been using them. I get about 2 years of daily use out of them before the thumb switches start to get flaky... that's when I usually upgrade. Currently using a Basilisk V3 because I don't need the Naga thumbswitches anymore. But again, I haven't used their laptops, so couldn't say how durable (or not) they're built. I just know their service return process has been migraine inducing, and would not recommend the brand for anyone who can't afford to just outright replace what's broken. That, and their Synapse program is crap on a cracker. I use it for key mapping only, set everything to Transparent, and run SignalRGB instead.
  16. I'll have to tweak my MM macros for my Bots/Traps MM, only her 'emote' would likely be pulling out the AE tablet and doing stuff with it. Too bad there's no "play with remote control toy" emote....
  17. Enh. Reverb is good, but for real power, you need overdrive distortion.
  18. I've a Dark/Dark corr languishing in the 30's, so I'd be interested in seeing how this works out. Samedi needs some build love. (Don't think I ever got her to max level on Live, either. Was awesome in low levels, but somewhere around 28-35 it got... meh.)
  19. I'd much rather put Howling Twilight on a fast recharge than sink anything into Dark Pit. At least HT works, even if it's expensive. IF Stuns knocked toggles consistently I'd consider maybe taking it, but even that is iffy. The only way the Devs could fix Dark Pit at this stage would be to make it PvE autohit like the AoE Sleep powers, just take accuracy right out of the equation. But until that happens, it's End and animation time spent for ... zilch. "And whaddya want for nuthin'? A RRRRUBBBBER BISCUIT??"

    End Woes?

The below is from running a Storm/Elec to 50 and beyond: Triple-slot Stamina, SO's at the very least until you can get your hands on Performance Shifter +Endurance proc Triple-slot Health and put Numina's and Miracle +Recovery procs in along with a Health IO of sufficient level. EndRed SO/IO in every buff/debuff toggle, and in heavy-End click powers. Toggles with slow Recharge get a Rech to make 'toggling' a little less time intensive (and thus you're more likely to use them when needed and not all the time). LotG in defensive powers to passively boost Rech everywhere (but keep in mind, this doesn't make End come back faster, so if you USE your powers on an accelerated rotation, you'll burn End on an accelerated rotation.) Travel powers OFF when fighting. If you need something like CJ or Hover, slot it for End Reduction and not just Defense. CT and Teleport are much cleaner as far as end usage, they're 'on demand' rather than a toggle (and while Teleport burns quite a bit on the first port, as long as you don't drop out of Port-Phase each subsequent jump is pretty cheap.) Leadership toggles are 'nice' especially when on teams, but for the most part unnecessary until you start getting into higher-level difficulty and need the boost. Insps work fine for on-demand bumps to ToHit, Def, and Damage. If you're always on teams, consider turning on Imbuement drops at the P2W Vendor, these cannot be combined, but when you use them the entire team gets the benefit. Once high up in level (20's, 30's) you can turn on the higher-grade Insp drops and turn off the low tier. Also, pick Inner Inspiration from P2W, even if you don't get a blue when it's triggered, you can combine triads of unused Insps you get into blue ones. Cardiac Alpha for 50+ Attack rotation needs to keep a 'reserve' for the high-tier abilities that you might need. With T1/T2/T3 attacks, slot fully, these are bread and butter. Usually they're fairly cheap when it comes to end usage, too. Milk as much accuracy, range, and damage as you can out of them. Slot Rest for EndMod, means if you're not resting to recover Health you get back on your feet sooner than later. I'll have to go into Mids and plug in my current Storm/Elec build. With Cardiac Alpha Core and the above, suddenly the pre-50 End rationing isn't nearly as bad, and I can probably free up a few of those slots dedicated to End Reduction.
  21. As someone who ran a Robotics/traps MM from 1 to 50 on Live, FROM City of Villains release, I can ... somewhat concur? I had more issues with controlling the bots, rewriting macros to assign modes, and learning how to not pull too much for the minions to handle. I never thought of the problem as "not enough DPS" though. It was more along the lines of "control, control, you must learn control!" because bots getting curbstomped was usually due to them acting like hyper-enthusiastic puppies and stomping around through other spawns, and so forth. It was a long slog though. AFTER the Invention system had dropped, I started pushing IO sets into the build, specifically to increase hold duration, damage, and the like. That's when the set actually 'bloomed' and I renamed the character from an everyday name to a supervillain nickname, "Dame Demolition". EDIT: I would also posit that -regen is NOT simply a DPS boost. It's a mechanic to reduce how a target 'un-does' damage already applied. Put practically, it means that, given a sustained rate of DPS, you can bring something down faster, BUT the primary assistance with -regen is for targets who normally "heal through" any and all damage that gets applied. If you can slow down their heal rate, you have a better chance of reducing them to zero, and possibly defeating them in the first place.
  22. ah yes, I remember that. Level 50's not knowing what the tram was for, or how to access contacts. I thought about specifically PL'ing a character whose origin WAS the AE system, as an "NPC" that had somehow had their data shunted to the resuscitation chambers instead of the garbage file when defeated. Kind of a TRON/Automan concept, a constructed entity that was originally only virtual. The PL was supposed to be a character-defining flaw, in that this entity came out of the system at a very high level, but was completely clueless about how things worked in realspace. It made more sense at the time to simply block out all the abilities she 'had' but had yet to grasp the ethical implications of using them... so I ended up leveling her normally.
  23. As I understand, Experience and mission drop rewards in AE is primarily a Homecoming thing, NOT a Live thing. I remember when Architect released. Everyone flocked to this cool new system to post up player missions and content, and ... several PL farms nearly broke the system. Atlas Park was instanced into three zones, sometimes four on weekends. Matt Miller/Positron nearly ripped the AE system out of the game root and branch, he was so pissed. The compromise was struck, that AE content would only grant tickets, NOT influence or XP. It may (!) have been relaxed later, but yeah, that first month? Things were pretty effing crazy.
  24. So we're shitposting, now. Okay.
  25. Razer is awesome, until it isn't, and then you have to wrestle with their returns policy for repairs/replacement. This includes shipping the item back to HK (at buyer expense). With stores opening up around the country, there won't be as much of a need to ship broken stuff back to Hong Kong for warranty work, as in-country brick and mortar also requires decent inventory (which can also be used for warranty replacements more quickly). But, until they reach the inventory Critical Mass to do that, any servicing or warranty replacement will take weeks or even months. This is why I've only purchased their peripherals, and NOT their actual systems. If I do end up buying a Razer computer, it'll probably be one of their tower-case desktops, because while I know my way around the inside of a laptop, my hands are getting old(er) and my fingers are not as nimble as they were back when I effected field repairs on Toshiba Tecras for a living.
