  1. I'm curious to see the breakdown of the # of estimated freed names vs. # of the actual freed names after it hits
  2. now how am I supposed to prove that they're fine by soloing them on a petless demon/empathy
  3. For advice on how to deal with this, see OP's signature.
  4. I mean, yeah, alternate power sets with the main difference being a fundamental mechanics change sounds like a way to get new sets that reuse existing animations and effects to get something sorta new with less effort. Sounds neat and a way to give people who play on theme more options to switch it up. edit: Not sure you -have- to necessarily set it up as the way it is for Epic ATs, really, just making a new power selection option would probably be easier? Unless you're proposing this for the purposes of being able to have two of a power set for respec/build change purposes which... would be neat but decidedly more effort, I think.
  5. Frankly, I agree. Buff Dark Miasma and we let it ride and then we can see about other sets.
  6. My take is after that attempt at discussion you should come see me in a PVP zone
  7. I think gold titles being for people who won a costume contest like 4 years ago is silly
  8. List of sets in the same category that provide team buffs and a heal: Dark Miasma Electrical Affinity Kinetics Marine Affinity Nature Affinity Pain Domination Time Manipulation
  9. Empathy is already the generic healbot set, that is it's current identity. If you want green number go up, you pick empathy. You can't make empathy more generic because it has no uniqueness, other than the fact it is arguably the weakest support set.
  10. look this is all well and good but it has absolutely nothing to do with the balance of the set
  11. Everything here objectively improves the set! Happy to see it.
  12. It probably still does, just, the trick is no longer useful.
  13. Actually the jump jet pack back on live just flatly boosted your fly speed. No sine required.
  14. Hover and Evasive Maneuvers as easy Defense IO mules alone makes them worth while. Compared to the other power pools it's about the same. I mean, are you taking Flurry and Whirlwind terribly often? Spring Attack and Jump Kick? Anyway, for your second point, you could just min-FX Mystic Flight nowadays so.
  15. I believe Demons give Ember Shields to nearby allies so there is some precedent for that.
  16. Toroidal Bubble is what, +end/+res/+rec/+jump height? The effects are pretty tame and the only thing that affects movement is jump, and that's baaarely.
  17. 30s-60s between casts depending on the build? That's spammable?
  18. Did you make this topic just for the title?
  19. no gods no masters
  20. Everyone has how they like to play the game. That's cool. Sometimes, people ask questions about performance, or they ask questions about concept. The problem arises when someone from the other branch tries to answer a question concerning the other side. So, here's the thing: Underperforming is not a problem, usually. The lowest sets, you can build around and adjust and work with and make shine pretty well. B u t, This is a team game. And some teams are going to leave you in the dust just because of things you can't necessarily build around, things like patch setups, things like animation times, things like waiting for your AoE control to go off before the mob gets nuked (these are not necessarily all Kin Melee problems), that sorta thing. And the only answer for still feeling useful tends to be, play more aggressively, get to the spawn before your team does, which turns the whole thing into this breakneck, buzzsaw pace that might not necessarily be what the player actually wants. But then, the answer tends to be "find like minded people to team with" or "develop a group that you fit in with". Sound advice in theory. But in practice, let's face it, the player base isn't what it once was in terms of size, so this can be easier said than done to line up people who want that in the same active play time that you have with people who are now busy working 9-to-5s. It ends up taking a lot of your free time to setup your free time to just go have fun, if you get a dedicated group of players together. Not ideal. If you like an underperforming set, there's nothing wrong with that. Take it for what it is, and you get to be happy when ever it ends up getting some shine. If you don't, try looking at other things and wonder if you can bend it to fit your concept. Do you need Kinetic Melee for the flow-y energy effects as you do those animations? Maybe a re-coloration of some of the hit animations on MA's punch animations would work better? Kin Melee is a bit better on Stalkers, maybe you could try that approach out.
  21. To be clear, though, I'd still like more monitor slots: Res is the real issue, as there's more specific anti-one-or-two types of res abilities than there are specific -defense abilities. Infact, I'm not sure there are any specific -def abilities that can occur to players. I think there's maybe -positional but that still affects all positionals, so...
  22. You just have to monitor your lowest defense and your highest defense.
  23. I would generally go with no later than any fictionalized versions of real people that appear in the actual lore. Which I think stops around Korean War era for CoX? Might be misremembering.
