  1. no gods no masters
  2. Everyone has how they like to play the game. That's cool. Sometimes, people ask questions about performance, or they ask questions about concept. The problem arises when someone from the other branch tries to answer a question concerning the other side. So, here's the thing: Underperforming is not a problem, usually. The lowest sets, you can build around and adjust and work with and make shine pretty well. B u t, This is a team game. And some teams are going to leave you in the dust just because of things you can't necessarily build around, things like patch setups, things like animation times, things like waiting for your AoE control to go off before the mob gets nuked (these are not necessarily all Kin Melee problems), that sorta thing. And the only answer for still feeling useful tends to be, play more aggressively, get to the spawn before your team does, which turns the whole thing into this breakneck, buzzsaw pace that might not necessarily be what the player actually wants. But then, the answer tends to be "find like minded people to team with" or "develop a group that you fit in with". Sound advice in theory. But in practice, let's face it, the player base isn't what it once was in terms of size, so this can be easier said than done to line up people who want that in the same active play time that you have with people who are now busy working 9-to-5s. It ends up taking a lot of your free time to setup your free time to just go have fun, if you get a dedicated group of players together. Not ideal. If you like an underperforming set, there's nothing wrong with that. Take it for what it is, and you get to be happy when ever it ends up getting some shine. If you don't, try looking at other things and wonder if you can bend it to fit your concept. Do you need Kinetic Melee for the flow-y energy effects as you do those animations? Maybe a re-coloration of some of the hit animations on MA's punch animations would work better? Kin Melee is a bit better on Stalkers, maybe you could try that approach out.
  3. To be clear, though, I'd still like more monitor slots: Res is the real issue, as there's more specific anti-one-or-two types of res abilities than there are specific -defense abilities. Infact, I'm not sure there are any specific -def abilities that can occur to players. I think there's maybe -positional but that still affects all positionals, so...
  4. You just have to monitor your lowest defense and your highest defense.
  5. I would generally go with no later than any fictionalized versions of real people that appear in the actual lore. Which I think stops around Korean War era for CoX? Might be misremembering.
  6. The main thing I remember is Dr. Brainstorm created power proliferation between sets.
  7. The Paragon Times was fun. But at the same time, eh, I'm not sure it needs to be something that devs devote further free time to that could ostensibly be spent improving the actual game. A little torn.
  8. Kheldians are established to bond with hosts and be able to energy copy prior hosts. Due to dev limitations as it is not feasible to design multiple unique prior hosts, we get the Nova and the Kurukt/Ruktur (lobster). Now, having kheldian shapeshifter effects assigned to your own costumes so I could do something like make a big metallic alien bear or something for my lobster form and then maybe decide "I like nova, I'll keep that one" would be great. Also, thank you Sai, Videra, and Luci for showing how great khelds can be a 4* content. Nice to see the AT shine.
  9. I am, obviously, not a dev, but I assume it has to be harder than the weapon holster point stuff that's been constantly causing little issues with weapons animations and drawing, because weapons are technically NPCs so some stuff was just done in a very jank way. Generally anything the devs went "oh no, we're not doing that, that's a nightmare" was possible, but, it was after yeaaaaars. Also Khelds were the least played/2nd least played AT (assuming we can extrapolate our stats for ATs to live, which seems fair, as they were initially level locked and VEATs wouldn't have existed for a while to then become the least played) so you'd have to look at it from the point of "is the work we put into this worth the time allotted and our current budget," which was probably a no.
  10. Actually, much like before we got power customization to the level we got them, they described the process of changing the Kheldian forms around as a living nightmare.
  11. I would absolutely do it, especially if they found a way to put the transparency + aura on those costumes to help it along.
  12. MinFX for forms is worth it just because then I can make my own alien costume forms and say that those are the forms my Kheldian absorbed.
  13. No. Why would I think that?
  14. Well the old devs definitely didn't hold to that with the malta stun nade lol
  15. Because it's probably the best toggle in the game right now. Debuffs, buffs, deals damage. Does alot more than other toggles that are all priced at .52e/s (Darkest Night, Radiation Infection, Disruption Aura, Sonic Repulsion [.65e/s for this one])
  16. End cost in Marine Affinity isn't real, you can give yourself a second Stamina and it's perma out the box along with 20~ end.
  17. Did your Tank get end drained by Malta and thus detoggle? Because that seems like it'd answer that.
  18. anyway, I fought for whitecap to be how it is in beta because it's good, makes sense, and maximizes fun, thank you
  19. the range boost is synergistic because it lets you fly into their face from a longer range, actually
  20. See ya tomorrow.
  21. Please don't remind me about that unfinished mod somewhere on my machine trying to squeeze my character into Sentinels, thanks.
