  1. I will KB 100,000,000,000 foes through the walls before I pay a tax for a enhancement that does not boost a stat If God asks me to sacrifice power for function then I will simply face God and walk backwards into Hell
  2. 1. Knockback is a useful tool for enemy rearrangement and doesn't have to be a suboptimal strategy 2. No one will ever learn 1 because KB-to-KD is completely engrained in the player base 3. To the point where the playerbase doesn't recognize the difference between a repel effect and a KB effect 4. With no hope of the crutches ever coming off, the player base will never learn to utilize this effect 5. Chance for KB in an AoE sucks
  3. Far be it from me to cause another accidental derailment from the subject of accessibility, flavor, and appearance, but... ...thankfully the kheldian powers come pre-tuned to be pool powers.
  4. I don't know if there's precedent lorewise for doing that with PBs, but Nictus fragments make a WS Epic pool make sense at least. Plus there's that one Essence Drain temp you can get that has the Nictus effects.
  5. Scalers only mean that if any other class was unfortunate enough to get Bright Nova Blast that theirs would be worse. When no one else has access to the same powers the scalars of the class modifying the power are basically entirely irrelevant.
  6. Oh, alright, I see. That sort of reminds of that one Taskmaster page that everyone loved, with the after images of everyone he was copying. While not necessarily strictly shapeshifting, I could see it opening another avenue of character concepts, so that'd be neat.
  7. Am curious about the distinction you mean between Minimal/No, you mean one that still has the visible transformations but without the wispy energy effects and slight transparency that the forms have? And to be clear, no active buffs, but were the human and changeling builds procced out? Which I imagine would widen the gulf further, or was it one of those "1 proc per attack" tests? Okay, I don't see how this is relevant still, as the post you're quoting wasn't interacting with you, so, go be mad about it I guess?
  8. This doesn't have anything to do with what I said. Also, you're here too, man. Go play the game, I guess?
  9. It's alright, man. No amount of testing will ever convince "I don't believe you. I got carried on a +0/x4 Warriors map and it feels fine to me" types. Best to just not worry about those people.
  10. wouldn't work if they have teleport prompt off, which if they are AFKing is likely
  11. It's more damning with faint praise. If you don't understand that that's cool, though, you can still laugh.
  12. A name purge won't do anything because people have had three years to get 600 alts passively to 50 via farms that they'll proceed to never engage with again.
  13. For everyone: Any memorable things that you wanted to implement but the tech just wasn't there for it?
  14. well, here's the thing: i'm lazy
  15. sure take a look: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1X0-rXkF4eyhJRRuETgEFO7RDjjLw1UZAdPVlE1rMqUs/edit#gid=0
  16. buddy looks like you're gonna have to find somewhere to stuff chance for immob
  17. Ah "if everyone's super, no one will be," which assumes "hey we need something to be just, bad. really bad. that way we can point at them, and laugh". Well, no. All ships are raised by the buff wave. If you like to feel super, and there's buffs based around high end testing, guess what! That buff trickles down. Will there always be a top performer and a bottom performer? Yes. Would it be boring if they all just had the same numbers (let's ignore the current dev focus on a damage formula which does exactly that for the purposes of your theoretical argument)? Yes. Does that mean you can't at least make the gulf between an underperforming set or archetype and an overperforming one a great deal smaller? No, no it does not.
  18. (also historically these forums go 'prove it' and then say 'no you didn't jump through the right hoops, do it again, but i can't be bothered to do it' which generally makes people not care about actually getting the hard data because of a violently casual playerbase)
  19. Well if we can't argue what's worse and better because things fluctuate on skill level, why have discussions? Generally these sort of tests assume equal skill level. Like, if you factor in player dependcies, you might as well not look at numbers, because now you're right back to "well i just like how it feels".
  20. Well, on the subject of the old powers datamine... I remember saying before the VEAT tweaks, "Hey, do Widows really need confront, how many people even take that" and the answer I got back was, yes, of course they do. 4% of Widow players, (25 people) in total picked confront at the time of the last datamine. So, hey, number crunching can help show what the players are actually doing too. 8 AR Corruptors took Beanbag, 11 AR Defenders took Beanbag, and 88 AR Blasters took beanbag, one of the more bottom picked powers in general for Def/Corr, and at the very least the least picked power in the set for Blaster AR (31%). We still kept it around though, god bless, I guess.
  21. Yeah, I would generally agree that spreadsheet nerds are more important to the health of the game than forum "well it feels fine" types.
