  1. Thanks for responding I missed this thread. The above is correct, when I moved everything to a new server my DNS zone for "cityofheroes.dev" refused to propagate until I removed the hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev, and fbsa.cityofheroes.dev subdomains. I have no idea what the issues were but removing those subdomains let my DNS work again. Both of these subdomains were simply redirects to homecoming.wiki, and fbsa.homecoming.wiki, and neither has been available since the beginning of July. There is also a "dedicated" Discord for HCWiki, and FBSA Wiki support, and status updates here: https://discord.com/invite/kUCU6JFSYn This Discord also serves a couple of other uses, but you can opt into only the Wiki sections and ignore the rest.
  2. Chat, notification on edits, in case we get hit by spammers, etc.
  3. Some folks asked that I set up a dedicated Discord for the FBSA Wiki, and I did. I also added a section for the Homecoming Wiki, you can opt into either of these sections when you join the server. https://discord.com/invite/kUCU6JFSYn This server has existed for a while, and was where I previously pointed folks for help with my Minecraft mods, and my game streams, however over time it's emptied out and I figured I could re-use it for this too. No idea if it'll gain much traction, the original 2 that asked for it joined, and then.. nothing else sense 😛 But figured having somewhere dedicated to wiki chat could be good.
  4. Send in a petition, include the name of the character, the *exact* (or as close as possible) date of deletion, and which server it was on.
  5. Have you also added -assetpath assets\mods to launch the launch parameters as described in the install instructions? Also, at this point, I'd suggest switching to the new Homecoming Launcher, even on a Mac: https://islandrum.powermad.net/mac-installer.zip
  6. For reference, -profile tells the client which folder to find its settings in, and -legacylayout forces the game to use the registry and old folder layouts for saving binds, logs, etc.
  7. -assetpath piggs -assetpath homecoming doesn't work, because the layout was changed when the Homecoming Launcher released. The original live piggs were moved to assets\issue24, and the "homecoming" piggs were moved to assets\live, which is why you have to use those paths. Also, if you're using the Homecoming Launcher, and you're running the above from that install (and it looks like you are from the folder layout to get to your cityofheroes.exe), you don't need -legacylayout
  8. The game's .anim files are *not* Maya .anim files.
  9. I'd suggest resetting your graphics settings, to see if that helps. If you're using HCLauncher, click the 3 dots under the "Homecoming" profile, click Settings, then check "Reset graphics settings on next run" This will automatically uncheck after running so your settings save. If you're using Tequila, click settings, then in the launch parameters box add -gfxreset you WILL have to remove this yourself for any changes made to your graphics settings to persist on restart.
  10. You can not create a channel on Discord with default user permissions. Also, this is about the best place to make this suggestion outside of Discord itself, and channels scroll by so quickly there, making it here makes the most sense.
  11. The first prompt is for your base install path. The log path is set in the main window after setting the base path.
  12. Where exactly did you point it the first time? Just the root of the install directory, or some sub directory?
  13. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/events/2023/7/ This works for me, do you get an error?
  14. assets\mods in your install directory
  15. Mid's BBCode export option does not work for these forums. IIRC Mids has an option for a link, or a non BBCode export (a hex dump or.. something?) Use those options instead of the BBCode export.
  16. The default button is the Print Screen key ("PRT SCN" On mine) on your keyboard, if you don't have that key, the command is /screenshot, and you can bind that to a key by typing /bind [KEY] screenshot Example: /bind p screenshot Which will take a screenshot whenever you hit P
  17. I maintain the hardware it runs on, but there are a number of amazing people that help update it, without them it wouldn't be the amazing resource it is. Thank you so much for this thread, it means a lot that folks appreciate the work that goes in to keeping the wiki up.
  18. Those are most likely "level-less" spawns, usually tied to a GM spawn, they always con to your level, so a level 1 will see yellow / white as will a 50.
  19. Eastern Canada to be exact The usual suggestion for odd network issues is to reboot everything, Modem, Router, and PC, that fixes it 95% of the time. Otherwise it's going to be an issue between you and the server, and sadly there isn't a lot you or the HC team can do about it.
  20. You have to have the "Remember Account Name" checkbox checked for the game to save the playerslot.txt file.
  21. The city rep site has been down for at least a year now, possibly two.
  22. As a test I bumped $wgExpensiveParserFunctionLimit to 200, and it appears to have solved it.
  23. #IfExist is marked as a "Expensive Parser Function Call", there is a hard limit of 100 of these in a page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Template_limits#Expensive_parser_function_calls Now, I *can* increase this limit, however I've watched the PHP-FPM pool for just the wiki use up 40-50% of the web server's CPU with the current limits in place, so I'm not sure that's a great idea... I could try to raise the limit slightly as a test, but with the understanding that if it spikes CPU usage too much I'll have to drop it back down. Edit to add, this is a 8 core 3.2 GHz CPU, not like a RPi, 40-50% of this CPU is an insane amount, and the wiki has its own dedicated FPM pool.
  24. Navigate to c:/Games/Homecoming/assets/mods/, and check the size of the hc_vidiotmaps.pigg, it should be 54,093 KB, or 52.8 MB. If it's not that size then something is likely interrupting the download, either AV, or a proxy or something.
  25. Has the wiki been stable today (other than the 2 minute server reboot)? Just trying to make sure everything seems to have settled with the hardware migration.
