The only issue I'm currently dealing with is that Wine can't correctly find Gecko so the mod details area is blank, it *was* working so it's something I've broken in my Linux install. I did have to enable multiarch on Xubuntu, and specifically install 32bit wine, then use winetricks to install dotnet48. I don't do a ton of Desktop linux, most of my linux experience is gui-less servers.

What issues are you having on Linux?

Replacement for DeTexturizer?
Michiyo replied to Lady Victory - The Watch's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
It seems that the build process wasn't correctly bundling the required DLLs for the image converter, as a workaround for now I've pushed an update with those lose DLLs in their expected locations wherever you are running Texture Tools from. You'll see a new folder "runtimes" which contains the required dlls. Also please @ me for issues like this as I don't get reply notifications even though I have them turned on. -
FBSA Wiki doesn't have the right logo
Michiyo replied to SnoBahr's topic in Website Suggestions & Feedback
The FBSA Wiki used the Homecoming Wiki's logo (Which is just Homecoming's logo), this was removed ~7 months ago, in preparation of migrating the HCWiki over to Homecoming control, as well as moving from fbsa.homecoming, wiki to the new domain of fbsa.wiki. I don't have the time, skill, or spoons to make a new logo for the wiki, so it is currently just the default MediaWiki logo. -
Yes, though as soon as I offered that I realized my renderer is totally broken for NPCs and haven't had a chance to poke at it yet. But yeah, I can feed it the list of NPCs and it will spit out renders of them just like my costume site does for player costumes.

Victory has always been here, Originally I spun her up as a VM on my Desktop, then I moved her to an old Dell R815 (The 2nd server from the top in the above photo), then I gutted a HP DL380 g6, and built a 2nd gen ThreadRipper machine in the chassis. But at all Times Victory was on a box running in my house.

I can walk downstairs and poke Victory, and I'm on the west coast of the US. When Victory is brought over to HC It'll be in the same cluster as the other 4 NA servers on the East Coast of Canada.

I can dump the entire warriors group, if you are able to sort which ones you need?

HC Wiki reopened for edits.
Michiyo replied to Michiyo's topic in Unofficial Homecoming Wiki's Forum
It's the same link it has always been. https://homecoming.wiki/ We have had to delay the transfer of ownership of the site and data, nothing has changed. -
Hello all! The HC Wiki has been re-opened for edits! Apologies for the extended delay.

"MapShuttingDown" Isn't a bug, it's unfortunate timing. When you transfer into a map that is shutting down you'll get that error, the most common time to run into that is zoning into your base at exactly the same time the map is shutting down due to inactivity. If you have a reproducible method to trigger this outside of the map shutting down due to inactivity then please do share it.

Character select/moving characters around (aka "too many characters")
Michiyo replied to Crowe's topic in Help & Support
I wrote a tool for this a while back which might be easier to use than manually editing the file. https://cityofheroes.dev/charsorter/charsorter.zip Point it to the *base* folder of your game install (The folder that contains the "accounts" folder), then you can select your account name (if multiple), and server. Drag and drop your characters around as desired, then hit "Save". Bonus note, this will also correct any index collisions which may be the root cause for missing characters when renaming. -
Make sure you have dotnet48 installed via winetricks, that's the only thing I can think of off hand.

What exactly are you having an issue with?

Creating Overlay to speak NPC mission dialog
Michiyo replied to Heliopause's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
All dialog is stored on the server, and sent to the client when a dialog is opened, or an NPC speaks, the actual mission dialog is not duplicated on the client. -
An extension was added in early April as we were having issues with people editing others pages, this extension locked editing of pages to only the *original* author of the page. I experimented with adding an "Approved Revisions" extension to the wiki, but this runs into the same issue, either the original author has to approve the change, or someone has to poke me, the only admin, to approve the changes which isn't ideal. I've disabled both extensions for now, but if the issue crops up again I will have to figure out some sort of fix.

I don't have a flying bus plan (What happens if I get hit by a flying bus?), however if in the future I decide to leave the community the plan is to package all of the mods at the time, modify the tool to work off the local files instead of downloading them, and pushing a final update, as well as the source for the site and tool if anyone else wants to pick it up. (and my $deity have mercy on their soul for trying to read my source)

If you mean something like this post: For example, then this issue is caused by Google expiring links: This isn't an issue of the forums, but of those URLs expiring, looks like Google is starting to do what Discord has been doing in making external links to files hosted expire after ~24 hours.

Thanks to the efforts of @Manga The Mac Guru, I'm happy to announce a release of the mod installer for Macs. https://mods.cityofheroes.dev/link.php?id=2 Unzip the zip, put the "CityModInstaller" folder in your "Applications" folder, then run the "CoH Modding Tool" script (Not the "CoHModdingTool.exe" file) This will likely take a bit to install its prerequisite, then it should launch the Mod Installer for you. Click "Add to Launcher" and select "HC Launcher".
-
If you're having issues with installing the Homecoming Launcher, start a thread here: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/103-homecoming-launcher/ Everyone should really be moving away from Tequila, it's been deprecated for a long time, Beta isn't available on it, and a number of settings are no longer being saved when launching from Tequila.
-
It's recommended to swap to the official Homecoming Launcher: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/getting-started/ Tequila has been deprecated for a while now.
-
You'll want to switch to this for Macs.
-
The best option at this time is to switch to the Official Homecoming Launcher: https://manifest.cohhc.gg/launcher/hcinstall.exe Tequila is being phased out, so you'll need to switch eventually anyway.

Replacement for DeTexturizer?
Michiyo replied to Lady Victory - The Watch's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Of course, I found a bug with this release in the handling of MipMaps, will be fixed, and we get to see if the auto update function works... -
The transfer to Vanguard wasn't moving HC characters there, it was moving characters from the old Closed Beta "Paragon" server to the new Closed Beta "Vanguard" server.
