  1. We can always dream. But the fact that the Homecoming Devs keep greasing the wheels and even adding parts to the old steamboat is really more than we could have hoped for. The further tiers (as I understand it) were to be in conjunction with harder Incarnate Trials. Those stories....would need to be expanded, along with writing full trials. Then the powers would need to be coded. and bolted on. and tested. While I personally do not like the Aeon, or the 4 star ITF I definitely appreciate the quality of the work. For the Homecoming team to tackle the above project seems like a lot. They would never publish it as a mediocre thing. Seems like a very big wall.
  2. Fire Kin would be powerful on a Corruptor. Especially since you have a memory of the challenges and joy of Fire. I really am amazed at what my Corruptor can do now that I learned the powers and stopped playing like a Blaster. Since you ran this on a controller you will understand the powers and not make that mistake
  3. I have only succeeded with one Blapper. Now, in my opinion Blasters were designed from the ground up as Blappers. Sets that do not conform to short/PB range suffer through less effectiveness in my opinion. That does not mean it was easy for me to play one. I find it a challenging style. FIRE. I have a few Fire/whatever Blasters. Fire Fire to me is the most effective. You want to kill. NOW. Your only damage mitigation is murder. Errrr. Arresting. My current Dark Dark Corr runs into a slight crossover to this at higher end content. In that shit starts to ignore stuns/debuffs/or the new content just throws 20xold content spawns at you. You stunned X enemies? Have 30 more. Nuked those? Have 30 more! The solutions are different but I bring it up for one reason. Have a Fing Rez in your secondary or epic. If you dont have armor/defenses aim for one in each. You will thank me later Back to Blapping…. Slaughter is your business. You need to John Wick an endless army of minions along with their Tank EB/AV boss (or multiples.). You may build for defenses of some type. They will fail. You need to know where to be in each room for maximum damage while presenting minimum opportunities for the baddies to plant you. That is your armor. Know the content, obliterate anyone not on your team/league. Good Luck 🧛
  4. I have played with friends (really high end players) who swear by Dual Pistols, especially over AR. To the point everytime I mentioned AR they steered the convo to DP. I have only one level 1 DP. Based on a charicture of Danny De Vito in Its Always Sunny. “So I just started blastin” So the powersets are relatively solid. I will look at the build. You went Oppressive Gloom to layer with Suppressive Fire. Nice. How far into content does that work efficiently. I can stun into BAF and Lambda warworks but things get too hairy in even a speed Aeon. Too many mobs for it to be more than swatting flies at a picnic. It does work for me in a +4 Kill Most ITF due to the tactical nature of the team just rolling into the next group and killing. In Aeon they keep rolling into us.
  5. As I have been beating this to death all year....hey, that was thematic!...I am on a Dark Dark Corruptor with Dark epic. (go Dark not Soul, the larger area on Soul Drain AND Oppressive Gloom leading to opportunity to Mag 4 Stun AoE as a part of your attack chain) This is my current iteration of my vampire main. Who started as a Dark Invul Brute, then a Dark Dark Brute, then a Dark Dark Blaster (so wonky for me) and now Corrupting. I may try the Blaster again at the end of this project. Maybe not. My goal is as many badges as I can get in a year. Pretty sure I will get over 1500 Time will tell.
  6. I never tried to "upgrade" my Dark Armor Brute's stealth. The non suppressing stealth and just flat out ignoring anyone when I wanted to....was enough. My current Corruptor has Shadow Fall. 40 ft stealth according to mids but i think in game monitoring has it at 35. this does not suppress. Then I slap a Celerity +Stealth in Prestige Sprint (so i can color the prestige aura black 1-this gives a cool look 2-I can tell when it is off or on) The Celerity +Stealth does suppress in combat or if I click a glowie. It is a necessary thing to get through a speed Aeon. Full invisibility when stacked with Shadow Fall.
  7. Same. what irritates me is i play a 50 for 1-5 hours every day. But not at grinding 2 hard mode trials. So will never see that costly option
  8. I suspect you will have very similar issues with /Devices Blaster. THose sets (Traps and Devices) were made for a game that does not exist anymore. In my opinion, they are great for concept, RP, soloing and fun. Damn things suck on ROFLSTOMP teams. I have a Beam Rifle/Temporal Blaster built up as ranged only with softcap ranged defense. It was my weekly Really Hard Way Magisterium and Master Incarnate Trials go-to toon. It did one thing really well. League Fire Support, especially on ST Hard Targets. Trying to get close enough to use Devices on it makes me think 1) too much effort 2) not enough reward to switch from very nice Temporal, the Blaster answer to Willpower.
  9. Damn. And I have been meticulously moving them around the pages on the startup screen. Danged. So simple. So brilliant Thank you!
  10. That is actually part of the story for my "main" this year. a Dark/Dark Corr I started 12 27 02 (for Holiday badges) Of course I had 50d a Dark Dark Corr and incarnated it and ran it. Truth was I sucked on it. I did not understand how the powers worked and I built (and played) it like a Blaster. Then was unhappy with the damage... I would come back to it every couple months and play it for a day or a week. Nope, still a crap Blaster. Parked again. I looked at a lot before I decided the 2023 toon. I realized I needed to learn how those powers worked. From the timing to the exact effects, and how long those effects lasted. I started a new Dark Dark and soloed every Redside contact to 50. (standard practice for me of avoiding any contact that can be run at 50, ie 35-50, 40-50, 45-50) So all pre 50 Redside contacts. I was casual, running at -1/x0. The goal was to learn the powers not anything else. It took me about a month. Would have been faster except the winter badges ate a large chunk of my first week. I learned how powerful Dark Corr are because I was alone and needed every power to DO something. I even had Black Hole for a while. It was only useful grabbing glowies solo, and eating purps works there. I respec'd out of that a couple weeks ago and have the TP pool. Still learning that. Now that I understand the powers my build is not like a Blaster at all. I build to Mez/Debuff, then support an attack phase that continues the debuffs while scourging. It's a beast in +4/x8 ITF, and BAF Lambdas. It is slightly squishier in speed Aeons. Getting better with that, but you really gotta know where to be in the dance.
  11. The "build up" in Kinetic Melee is situationally okay once in a while. It was designed for a combat style that CoH is not (at least not currently) By the time you warm up a Blaster has nuked the mobs and the team is racing down a tunnel.
  12. We had two tanks on the 4 star. Which was a red flag. That i did not pick up on because i thought it was a two star. At the end the lead (one of the tanks) said he thought it would be smooth. I read that “fail to plan, plan to fail”
  13. Bullshit. I accidentally joined a 4 star Aeon a couple weeks ago. (I thought it was a 2 star badge run. It was a 4 star badge run) I am not great but I am not horrible. There were 4 star vets on the team. We did not finish. It was a miserable Fing experience and an example of why I hate the new CoH game
  14. I love concept toons. I built THE TANK MAGE. An invul kinetic tank. All ranged. Or almost all. Okay damned short range but ranged lol. All done up in mystical outfit. It was lulz. The animations were perfect for the concept oh, Kinetic Melee still sucks
  15. Oh, if only my psychology were that simple. I mourned and let go Cosmic a while ago. This thread is about the unnecessary (in my opinion) tendency to require a lot of effort for something that should be fun. What affect that has on the players. The role of Cosmic in this thread is as an example. As I said upthread the Leadership may have been planning this migration for a year. I do not know. If that is me blaming Cosmic's demise on Prismatics you will need to diagram it out for me.
  16. By memory....so faulty....it is 150 for all badges. which sounds vaguely like what I spent two weeks ago, Again, all I had earned on every toon since they came out. Scraped together and dumped on my 2023 badger
  17. Cosmic is/was a Legacy SG. The original leadership handpicked the current leadership. Honestly I do not know how they can be as good as they are. Both with the game and with people. That level of quality attracted some great players. I offer none of that. Just a grumpy old Vampire throwing out Snarky remarks. I could maybe replace one of these guys in a pinch
  18. Yeah. It is even worse. Some of those super smart gamers were selling prismatic from day 1 for stoooooopid high buy it now prices. Because they were grinding them and knew the price would drop. So when the market stabilized they could turn the one they sold into many more
  19. Every time I bring up a certain AT powerset I get told there are so many things better. And I laugh. What is better than effortless fun? I speak of Willpower Armor on a Sentinel. I got addicted to Willpower on Brutes when it first came out. I ran a LOT of pre 50s and mostly SO builds. There was no inherent fitness. Willpower was a dream come true. With I/Os being (relatively) cheap for me now Invul on Brutes is the way to go. But on Sentinels? It is just back to what it was on Brutes for me. effortless lulz. You always have health, you always have endurance. You are not a Tank. You have to play smart. But if you play smart your green and blue bar will require no eye contact. ever.
  20. and i dont. my biggest badger is 1450. my current "main" dark dark corr i plan to run all year (started dec 27 to get the damned grindy presents lol) is 1060 there are badges on him i am unsure how i will get, like some of the RV badges if it happens it happens. But my friends in Cosmic were maniacs. At least one was a RL badger, a danged Eagle Scout lol. Now maybe they would have moved on anyways. Maybe they had been planning it for a year. But the timing was real precise. the new badges/content dropped. they badged like meth addicts. then left.
