Super Strength without Rage Crash. There are a number of simple and some complex ways to balance out Super Strength to do same/similar damage. WITHOUT a crash that is a relic of a very long ago time in the game.

I have a base where I store a few enhancers (cough) But even if you have NO enhancers stored and you see a market spike like this.... 1) Find a cheap PvP enhancer on market (relatively, look around for the low end) 2) Buy that 3) Convert in type (PvP) until you get a Panacea 4) Convert in set until you get the one you want This strategy is how to NEVER pay top dollar for items.

There are entire threads directed at each of these subjects. They are deep. "Softcap" defense (in normal play) is 45% meaning 95% attacks (barring other effects) miss. Those two brackets I put in are both pagelong explanations. Use some Board Search Fu!

Yeah. This is a matter of flavor and numbers. Built correctly the Dark Dark Brute, pound for pound, is one of the flat out meanest creatures walking. But….it is not for newbs or idiots. No offense meant. Just setting an expectation level You have to understand HOW Dark works. Dark takes the standard CoH Def>Res>Heal and puts that right in the trash compactor. Then dares you to say shit about it. Dark uses AoE stun and AoE fear to mezze the nobodies. This gets rid of a ton if annoying incoming attacks. If you do not take both those toggles do yourself a favor and quit reading. Dark Dark uses to hit debuffs to also reduce incoming attacks. Dark has non suppressed stealth. When they cant see you eating their friend twenty feet away you can call that defense. So Defense strategy set Now, your big bads ignore most of that. Soooo… some of the best resists in the game. Do not neglect energy resistance. It can be built into a nice neighborhood. I have Tanked Rom on a Master Run because i have energy resistance BEST heal in the game. Available every few seconds. Top of my head i think mine sits at 8 sec recharge. From .0001 health to 100%. Dark Melee provides very good ST damage. Bolstered by Dark armor damage aura there is decent AoE as well. since a Dark Dark Brute is rarely killed you will win any and all DPS races. the most spectacular tacoing of my Dark Brute i recall was a shadow shard TF. A teammate got stuck in a crossroads in a cave map with tons of big spawns all around. My overconfident butt went in. Those F-ing eyeballs ignore steath. So part of my “defense” was gone. Then…..oof. Rikti, some Nemi and a very few Longbow Wardens do the same. You need to learn the groups and know the odds. Only bet on winning hands. that is the cliff notes. If you dig around the Tank and Brute Forums you will find my builds for each AT. They differ from how most people build the armor. A lot of people do not take all the toggles. Yeah, I do not think highly of that. A lot of people go “oh, I cannot have good energy resistance” Yeah, I do not think highly of that. Enjoy the ball of hate that is Dark Dark

I actually ignore it because only people that grind Aeon endlessly (and their AH "woeshippers") ever se those options. F that. If I play non stop for six months and that gives me a handful of Prismatics I leave....

Blasters have come a loooong way. The changes to AR (just made) are awesome. Once you learn the trick of the "hidden first strike" build up it just gets better. And the Full Auto now is wide and cleans like a room sweeper.

The ragdoll mechanics in this game are still some of the best out there

and he is DAM tough in a "fair" fight. Me and two friends tried to run a +4 MLTF. They were drunk (on discord) and I am sober and thinking we are going to flop at Hami. It was a smooth and very fast run. Until Hero 1. Every time we got him down about 30-40% health the F-er used some Dull Pain type power and his health went right back up to full. Just fighting him took 10-15 min. Surprisingly the only hard part about that run.

Even though I have a metric crapton of math training I am NOT going to drag it out for stuff like this. Not for me, you, or anyone. I use the "common sense" math training. This is where you look at the big picture and say "screw the details" If you are solo, could be a toss up. Could depend on the AV/Boss and their particular power sets. So, unless some uber geek who has done intricate testing (math analysis is not enough, you gotta test. Just ask a certain submersible captain. Oh wait, nvm) But there are threads of people who test powers and if you want to explore their work, have at it. For solo, I would go with feel and fun. If you are on a team... What makes more sense? Not hard. A little extra DPS from one person... ORrrrrrr A Res debuff EVERYONE can take advantage of? Yeah, it's like that. And not a single derivative needed...
