back when Cosmic Council was thriving we did weekly ITF challenges, Certain ATs vs other ATs. We regularly (all teams) hit 12 min averages. Some were worse...some better. The true speedsters in the group had an obscenely low complete time on ITF (5 or 6 min?) as they did for many many TF/SF/Trials

except for really strange things like petless MMs there are no "mystery men" type characters. Most Tanks are A tier, although you need just 1. and "need' is very situational. i am booked Sundays, but it sounds like fun... come to think of it i am overbooked all week lol. If I was hiving any advice…. Find a concept you really like. That fits a playstyle you like. Get a name, a costume, pick you AT and powersets. Then learn the game from the perspective of that that Character/AT. Learn the enemies, the maps, the fights, the major TF/Trials. Learn to build THAT Character. It took me years to. E able to build Brutes well and not copy off others work. Hyperstrike’s Invulnerability builds are still half my Brutes. Lot of fun. Great AT to learn the fights on. Except some Incarnate stuff. Incarnate uses a LOT of AoE where the League is….

your memory is whacked. you are crazy. Brutes? matter of personal preference. i spent years on them. you would have to pay me to play them now...

There are a lot of subtleties I am still trying to understand. I still cannot explain to people my concept on Dark Armor Faux Defense and get them to understand 1/2 time. +To Hit is way more valuable than Accuracy. How would you know? (So that Kismet +to hit Global is Gold) Defense>Resistance. until it isn't. Resistance is it's own Resistance Debuff Resistance. which loooks like a sentence eating it's own tail. but means that 100% Res will stop your resistance being debuffed... except for unresistable resistance debuffs. (which are almost non existent,... but exist) and a hundred other weird corners of game mechanics. +health and +healing on a Blaster are "cool" but kind of worthless to chase, can be gold on a Tank. and the beat goes on...

this information seems unnecessary. the OP just wants to know if the specified enhancers add a benefit to a character... period.

oh yes, in that case, every one of these things adds a net positive. take them all. also, put every enhancement set with all set bonuses on your toon. every single set, 5 times. net benefit.

There are NEVER enough slots. So talking about hypothetical where they are infinite…. an example. Compare toon builders to bodybuilders. Each striving for perfection. Toon builders get slots. Body builders get calories. Now imagine a new bodybuilder talking to guys doing it for years about “what if we had unlimited calories?” WTF? It is alien, just sounds crazy.

The resists and mez protection are NICE. But so are a bunch of other things those slots could go to. Unless your build has “just tons of extra slots” (oof, not good) or are building up a melee Resistance based armor set i would not invest in that. The mez is great… if you are not giving up something better. A good builder can almost always complete one more thing rather than go tandomly throwing on “cool stuff” The endurance globals, excellent. Unless…. Your toon has low/no end issues. Then… wasted slots I think you are seeing the pattern to the critique i am offering by now. Good luck.

Yeah, that is what the Dev vision was for Redside. Then players.... started playing. It takes too long for a MM to "Tank" and Brutes NEEDED to charge in (when Fury was much more volatile, and FUN) So Brutes would roar into a mob and then everyone would follow. and ROFLSTOMP teaming was born. Brutes needed constant Fury feeding, and team speed became a very real thing.

well suck it up buttercup. Brutes have been hated on since they were created, and have been nerf hammered three different ways. The current Devs are taking the polite way of doing it, buffing Tanks, Scrappers, and Stalkers. So, .... I just stopped playing them.

back on live, in edge cases, certain (very few, maybe one) type of Brute could outdamage Scrappers. so, obviously

Brutes have ALWAYS sucked pre 20. Before inherent fitness it was like trying to watch Strongmen run a Marathon. Painful. Sentinels are fun, and okay (never "OH WOW WE GOT A SENTINEL") (thats for kins...) pre 50. Aftyer 50 they get even less cool, because incarnate powers give everybody most of what they paid A LOT up front for. (and will never get back)

Brutes are NOT flimsier than Scrappers. But Brutes are not in a very good place right now. Tankers keep getting buffed, and that is the go-to armored AT. Sentinels got a nice rework. They are decent. They were in a horrid spot. they are now.... There are meh. Especially after 50. These are my opinions. I have Tanked Recluse in MoMLTF twice successfully on a Dark Dark Brute. But that does not make it in a good place. That just means I did to the Brute what NASCAR does to a chevy. And people have played that build (at least one person) and swore they died all the time. I never think I am that good a player. Maybe they were that bad? I have run tons of Sentinels. DPS with a gimmick. and meh DPS. I am currently fixated on Corruptors. But I do not like to heal or buff. I like to Corrupt. So I run Dark and Ice. Dark has great heals but it is centered on me and applies a -regen. debuff. Corrupt. Corruptors are the only "S" class AT in CoH. Every Corruptor, regardless of powersets, is an "S" class pick for a team. My opinion. Depending on Powersets, AT, and opinions most non Corr toons are A to C. Less kind players immediately assign Ds and Fs to certain powersets and/or ATs. Is it fair? Is it right? Do not look to "balance" the game through change. You will have a interesting fight.
