  6. Go for +range bonuses. You can get one from Snipe sets, and one of the ranged AoE sets has one that is not unique, so can be used multiple times. +range will (slightly) increase your AoE and (greatly) increase your survivability. I am away from desk comp (those bodies do not dispose of themselves!) but will post my Energy/ Temporal build later
  7. Yeah, i got used to AR/Dev Blaster smoke grenade. It was elegant. This is less elegant, but the only option a Dark Dark Corr has. I will slide into it when i start the 25-29 content in a week? And see how it goes.

On my current obesessio... errr, project, I am planning on taking the AoE Foe Intangible powers "Black Hole" (Dark Corruptor) This is mainly to help with grabbing glowies, where I hope it will prove it's worth. I have also encountered tough situations in Street Hunt missions where telling an adjoining mob to "go to hell" would be useful. I do not use the power much. I took something like it a long time ago and only encountered a single situation in a mission where it was useful. And it worked great there, saving the few of us standing from being overwhelmed. What are the fine points of these types of powers? What are successful strategies for making them more valuable?

  12. some people find the starred content easier than +4/8. i think the starred is more challenging, but i have chaotic ways. Starred content, to be successful, requires our characters to act like they are in a play, doing certain things at certain times certain ways. Done correctly, even 4 star ITF with a good team is not extreme. Discord helps to coordinate barriers.
  13. Unfortunately End Drain on NPCs is VASTLY different than it is on tour character. If you have a power that costs 9 end to fire and you have 8 end… nope. NPCs need 1 end to fire anything. Including something that requires 29 End.
  14. Yes I Necro'd this. I am toying with the idea of a Fire^3 for a group project (Justice Super Teamers Elemental Run, starting soon on Excelsior) I am required to take two leadership slots. I cannot figure out how to cram all the good powers (all but T1 in prim, all but T2 in sec, ALL Fire epic, Hasten, and a travel power. I am 1 damn pick short lol) Can/SHOULD? this be attempted with NO Hasten? Or maybe no Fire Shield. Went looking for ideas and found an empty shelves.
  15. For me... Recovery. Recovery PROCs are better than EndMod enhancers in End powers. This is due to the fact that EndMod can be debuffed to nothing, The PROCs still fire. 90+% toons get Panacea, Numina,. and Miracle in Health, Perf Shift PROC in any (and all) End Powers. Then add EndMod slots as I can. The Health PROCs might be shifted to other heal powers for set bonuses (toggles or always on only) Defense. Steadfast Prot and Glad Arm Globals. +3% each. +6 Global Defense for 2 slot investment is damn hard to walk away from. Damn hard. Kismet +6% +toHit in a defense power that is always toggled on. (or a passive that is always on) +toHit is King, worth way more than Accuracy. Which is great, but +ToHit is just better. 1 slot investment in being much better. After this it REALLY varies by Archetype and build goals. (and how many slots I have "extra" ROFLMAO ) Doms and toons needing Rech will get as many LOTG Globals as possible. (5 max) Recharge from set bonuses is also VERY good. All toons need BLUE in CoH/V and ALL benefit from Global Recharge. The Defense Globals are priceless, but... The Resist Globals are just less valuable. Sorry, that is the way of CoH/V. So, it is build/archetype/POWERSET specific. On a Resist Melee toon I will 99% time be getting these. (Shield Wall/Reactive Defenses) As you are strong in 1/3 to half Resists but a lot weaker in others. these start to bring the value up. And Resist armor toons have little/no defense. So, start pumping Resists everywhere. On a toon with little to no resist, as sexy as they are... I need the slots elsewhere. I could complete a set bonus, sneak in an extra build goal, enhance a power that otherwise might be meh. 2 slots is nothing to just blindly throw away. I find the build ups, chance for heal/absorb less useful in my builds. This is partially due to chasing set bonuses and partially due to perception. I may be under valuing them. But they are not in my builds as much. Unbreakable Guard +max HP, along with set bonus Max HP works on CERTAIN builds real well. Other places, near valueless. Plan to stay alive. Build set bonuses towards the goal. I run a LOT of very ranged squishies and concentrate on Ranged Defense. But... NOT the only solution. I run a Fire Fire Blaster that chased +Dam% in set bonuses. Fire Blasters hit like a truck. He hits like a fully loaded cement hauler. Defense? *cough Why? They all dead. +4 or starred content. RISE OF THE PHOENIX. (and liberal abuse of Destiny Barrier by the team 🙂 ) Mez Resist % from set bonuses is valuable. But it is something I smile when I get rather than chase.

  17. I have been obsessed with numerous toons over the years. On live i would shatter 50s for the next project, as I only had enough “good” enhancements to make 2-3 “perfect” characters. My current obsession is the latest iteration of my “main concept character” Snarky the Vampire. Who I am pretty sure is closer to a lich than a vampire at this state. Snarky is currently a Dark Dark Corruptor. I am doing every mission from every contact in the game on him. I did invest a lot in P2W, and hot all my crafting badges (big money waste lol). But he is level 24 and has 3? Global I/Os on bim, and a handful of Corruptor I/Os, along with a over force kb->kd. Other than that on SOs. So, a lot of fun with a medium budget. At around 29 I will start slapping in a levelling build. But even then most of what i use to level are pretty middle of the road. At 50 there will be purples and hamis. So, real funds spent fast.
  18. I liked continuing my project to solo every contact in the game. While the madness happened around me. I can only liken it to playing chess or reading poetry in a coffee house in a super busy downtown type area. Madness and chaos everywhere while i sit with my own thoughts and plans.
  19. I have a Kismet +tohit in my Dark Corr AoE stealth. I will not turn it off. Not if the they ask, demand, beg, cajole, or insult. Although, you know me, I always appreciate the attention! 🤩
  20. How EXACTLY does DoT interact with Scourge and does it vary by attack type? peudo pets treated different? (rains etc...)
  21. the true "cap" for Resistance is 100%. do not panic, i am agreeing with you. what i am talking about is that Resistance is it's own Resistance debuff Resistance. Das ist ein schwierig Satz. ... umm, it is a difficult sentence. CoH/V keeps track of the true Resistance value as it caps you to your AT cap. then applies that value to any Resistance Debuff an enemy tosses your way. so, if you have 100% S/L Resistance your S/L Resistance cannot be debuffed from your AT cap. .....except,.. there are a few extremely rare mobs that have unresistable resistance debuff attacks. one oddball Longbow Warden among them you almost never meet.
